Does the tank need to be emptied before being detached?
Then I wanted to know if after installation it is immediately ready to go or if it has to be programmed on the computer?

you do not need to empty the gas tank although an empty gas tank is easier to move around. And the module connects to the bike automatically, once the green lights flash you are good to go ride :)
