I love how you show the building process, a lot of CZcamsrs just show before and after, this is better!
I agree. But they get more views... Oh well, haha!
Wow only one reply wow.
Dear Robin.
Definitely more stickers.🍕
The large one at the bottom of the window at leg height in front of the counter. 🍕
Then the minifigures can easily see it and you can also easily look inside.🍕
Keep up the good work.🏹
Greetings Jeroen
Okeydoke!
I love how you take inspiration from pre-existing Lego sets and improve them and make them BIGGER & BETTER!! (I would have loved to have had that town square set, I think I remember seeing it in a Lego catalog or somewhere as a kid, but not having the money to buy it.. 😢)
The windows definitely need some stickers, you could also create a funny scene of having a queue of delivery drivers lined up ready to pick up orders and have their mopeds parked really badly (like they do in real live London at least!!). Looking forward to part 2!
Oh yeah. Nottingham has the same thing. So many people don't / won't cook. Although maybe it's always someone's day off!
What an absolutely brilliant use for the pizza costumes. You always have the best simple yet creative uses for these nonstandard pieces. I'd say put some city pizza branding on the windows and then those small "pizza bill" stickers could be used as flyers someone is handing out
Thanks so much. I love using odd parts!
Yay the long talked about pizza place!
Wait what was that about not starting a new project? 😂
Definitely the right oven choice.
I really like all the signs my favourite is the 3D pizza. Also use all the city pizza sickers and the 1x2 one use it as a bill that someone has to pay - £1099.99 !! 🤣 Have you now used the whole set as I think you have?
When the build is complete as an extra small scene it would be funny if someone could drop a pizza 🍕 on the floor.
JJ F
I can't believe I didn't get to this before. Glad I waited though as the canopy sign was the latest addition!
Honestly Robin considering my local shopping centre opened a Pizza Express next to Pizza Hut three stores in a city is possibly the most realistic thing in your city - other than seagulls dive bombing chips. As for amendments a couple of plates under the pizza rather than just having them placed on the counter top. And perhaps a waitress also with her beautiful moustache.
Haha, that might become controversial. My original plan was to have about 20 coffee shacks for a similar joke but they look quite reasonably spaced in my city!
For your Ninja Turtle scene, you should get hold of the new Film Noir Detective from Series 25 and use the torso and legs but with a Ninja Turtle head. Make it look like the trench-coat disguise from the original Ninja Turtles cartoon.
Oh yeah, I remember that scene, haha. Well I'll be getting the minifigure but I kinda want everyone to get the joke. Maybe I'll try it out when I get the trenchcoat!
🔥That trick you did with the Pizza Guy costume is epic!🐐
Very effective wasn't it!
A suggestion for the pizza sign: if you flip it so you can’t see the head holes, and replace the heads with trans clear one it will look like lights for under the canopy!
The printing isn't on the back so that may look worse!
i think you could use some of those city pizza stickers as promotional flyers!
Maybe all over the city!
Yeah hay 😻 the TMNT will love it too, at last the pizza parla has arrived, don't forget the man hole for them to get through, you can't have too many stickers, looking great, I always think your 3D signs are inventive and fun. Brilliant 😸🐈👍
Through a manhole, exactly!
Great - this is getting back to some classic RHB. That gap has been waiting for some stacking & packing for far too long. Splendid use of parts and really good progress.
Thank you.
Well said!
Maybe you can put the fishtank in a Japanese restaurant, fishing shop or an aquarium in a pet store or a zoo?
There might be room on the exotic pet shop. The sushi place has a Duplo tank!
makes sense with the ninja turtles underneath. the windows need the city pizza stickers on the window glass at the bottom.
My thinking exactly!
Ideas for the fish thank... put in the detective office with a red fish (like the joke in the new CMF series) or inside the underwater base in the cabinet (the joke being , they have an aquarium to help the reduce the crew stress).
Great idea of the aquarium inside the underwaterbasis!
Ok. I'll have plenty of room on future underwater bases. I'll put it there and owe you a Badoiing until it appears!
When Robin rolls, he does it with style...packed and stacked! Let's go! Get the cheese out 😂! Pizza and gelato! 2 perfect food groups to go together 😂. Excellent build good sir!
PD, sorry Mrs Hood, I liked the red mailbox for the pizza oven.
Haha. Love it!!
By the similar faces, i would say it's a family business!
Very likely!
The windows definitely need some stickers. Do you have something TMNT related? Or something that ties the pizza restaurant to something else in your city? I like it when your little stories that go on in the city have a connection to one another. Another idea comes to my mind just now: In Legoland Florida there is a giant bruickbuilt pizza chef with that paddle thing and a pizza on it in front of a restaurant. It even talks to you and is quite iconic. Maybe you could somehow make a micro build of that and have it in front of your pizza place? Or make it a Robin holding that paddle with a pizza instead of a chef?
I'll do my second 3D sign first and see if I still need it!
I would love to see a room tour or build setup.
It's due. I did one literally a year ago. It was good though!
I love the 3D sign, as always!
Another one of those to come!
Great build Robin! I think it will be good to put theese stickers there and it will be cool if lego make something like that again!
Yeah, they seem to like everything jumbled up together recently. I always loved these multifaceted sets!
I love your usage of pieces, like the pizza costume and also the old duplo piece for the pizza over! I think that when you add the tables and everything you should utilize 1x1 round quarter pizza slice pieces
Yes, lots of pizza for everyone!
The "old pizza oven" looks like a "split head" which is one of those air conditioners that hangs high on the wall, connected to an outside heat pump. Love to see the signs up there, but it'd be realistic to have an A/C like that in a pizza or ice cream shop, too!
Hmmm, red though?!
@@RobinHoodBricks No, the one that had been hanging on the wall in the original pizza shop. It was hanging in a similar spot to where you see those split heads up on the wall.
Good decision. I have a City Pizza at my Ninjago City Moc too^^
The taste of the city!
I really like the pizza suit pizza sign! 😀
It took a surprising amount of time to get three of them and three heads!
Maybe the mailbox pizza oven is the mailbox that the pizza shop gets its mail delivered?
With a paddle to collect the mail!
Who knew the TMNT were into the gourmet kind of pizza heh
Its fun seeing new life breathed into an older and rather simplistic set
A Supreme pizza. . Arr.. Build you have there😄
Haha!
the round city pizza stickers on the doors next to the door handles would be the best for those imo.
According to most facial hair grooming companies, the moustache your minifigs have is called a chevron stache. I think most people refer to it as the zorro moustache. nice use of vintage minifig heads
I had too many not to celebrate them!
Keeping rolling the way you roll!
Oh yeah!
Mate I’ve never liked the open back sets. When I do buy those style sets I’ll buy two so that u can use the second set to close it in to make a module. However. The why you gave today made so much sense. Your spot in about the amount of light an open back lets in. Modular’s are terribly dark. And I’ll admit it makes sense. I’ve been amassing sets for years all in hopes of building my Lego city. I’m going to keep what you said in mind and I’m going to embrace the open back. Thank you for articulating that argument. The pizza and gelato emporium is brilliant. Cheers!
Great to hear you may be a convert. It's impossible to see anything inside a modular. As long as you can't see in any open backs from your main viewing angle!
You could use the mail box as a 3D sign for a postal supply store that sells boxes, stamps, tape, packing foam, etc...
I thought it looked best as an oven. Clearly my wife has less imagination, haha!
@@RobinHoodBricks Well, as your wife didn't view it as an oven, it would make a good 3D sign for the suggestion I gave to you.
I'm so jealous of your lovely pizza store
Gelato!!! - I'm hungary just thinking about it
As long as it's not pistachio ice cream!
Great use of the pizza costume piece! And I liked the red pizza oven option; it looked too wide to be a mailbox to me...
It might have gone very differently if I hadn't of asked, haha!
you should give the waiter behind the ice cream stand a spoon to scoop out the ice cream
Good plan, although he'd better not be eating it!
Definitely add stickers, it’s not Robin Hood Bricks, if there aren’t excessive stickers! Maybe one of the menus on the right window, as restaurants often have them to draw you in, and a city pizza one on the left window.
There is already a menu on the wall inside and out, but I do take your point. RHB is sticker mad. I must keep the legend going!
I always thought of city pizza as the generic corporate pizza place so a standard oven makes sense and the wood fire idea works for a more classic restaurant. I've thought about a pizza war because of all the pizza joints in town. I have the peter parkers apartment from that 2018 super heroes set that I modularized and it has yet another pizza restaurant.
Yeah, Pepe's. I think I gave away my sticker sheet out of loyalty to City Pizza!
Your pizzaria would be a great place for a vespa or fiat club to gather.
Vespas would be easiest. They accumulate in a collection like mine!
That little sink could use the tap that used in the club car - part 69c01 on bricklink.
I know the one. Not got any though!
In germany I saw a kebab place with a curved oven. They used it for baking lahmacun. Maybe the oven needs to be put somehow into bobs kabobs
Ahh yes. Bob's is one of my favourite builds. Reminds me of a good night out!
Love the lime and I’m a fan of some open backed buildings in the city. (I have several)
As long as you can't really see in from the wrong side, I'm down with it!
@@RobinHoodBricks……like yours, viewing in my city is mainly from one long side and one end. My train tracks go all the way around the outside of my city, with 8-12 studs left around the edge, so that is where I’ve placed my open back sets. No one sees the open side but me, when I go behind the city for maintenance purposes.
The stickers can be placed on one or all on the 3D pizza sign on the crust
Those stickers do not like curved surfaces, that's for sure!
great build meng....i think the lower half of front glass can do with the "City Pizza" sticker goin cross mid. jus a thought...thankx once again fr sharing
I was thinking similarly!
Love the huge pizza over the entrance, I would put the City Pizza long stickers at the bottom of the windows and the more square posters one on each door.
I feel like the big pizza sign should be displayed vertically because people on the street can’t see the topping but only the crusts
Hmm true, but I need to see it too!
Fantastic video chap
Cheers, my friend!
Really enjoy seeing the process of here's the original and here's the process to make it packed and stacked😊. Can't wait for part 2!
New Years greetings from New Zealand!
And back at you from the Old World!
You should put an open sign sticker on one of the windows or the doors.
Yeah, I should have one!
Cool@@RobinHoodBricks ! Thanks for responding!
Great job
Cheers!
Maybe 2x2 round plates under the pizzas on the counter so they’re not ruining the counter lol
I reckon they're overhanging the edge of the plates!
Hi! I would put the city pizza stickers at the bottom of the windows so it won't block the view to inside, or one pizza and one smaller gelato sticker if you have.
Sounds like a good plan!
This restaurant looks so good! Can’t wait to see the finished project!!
I hope you'll like it!
You upload this right as im planning my first building for my city; an upscaling of city pizza from the lego city set from a couple years ago; the one with a garden on the roof and a secone floor kendo dojo
I know it. That is quite small so you'll need to scale up even more and have something surprising and illicit upstairs!
Stickers: Less is more. Maaaaaybe a billboard out the front (not on the window).
If you cover the windows, you won't see the interior
I've tried not to block the interior but I may have gone too far!
The front of house minifigure looks like Swiss Tony from the Fast Show... you should have him as a second hand car dealer in your City instead 😅
Well Paul. Selling pizzas is very much like making lo...!
😂@@RobinHoodBricks
I agree with you about open back buildings most of mine are exactly the same you can look in and see all the little detail I used the same pizza building in my town and also made it slightly larger with a pizza oven counter etc but yours is brilliant as always you put in a lot of detail and it's not serious it's Lego that's what I like about your builds keep up the great work looking forward to seeing it when it's finished
We are clearly aligned, haha. Great to hear!
Mrs Hood knows her LEGO! - also loving that 'Swiss Toni' now owns a Pizza Restaurant!! 🍕
Haha, it IS Swiss Tony!
The thing about pizza, Paul, is that it's very much like making love to a beautiful woman, haha!
Love it a always
Great to hear!
Great stuff Robin.
Cheers!
Incredible as always. My favorite parts of your videos is seeing your creative mind make something new. I think you should trust your instincts and see where they take you. I certainly saw the pizza oven in the red mailbox and agree that those big beautiful windows, while impressive on their own could use a touch more detail. In my experience, places like this tend to focus on 'getting through the day' and hardly get back to things like cleaning the outside of the windows or making minor building repairs. So I'd suggest some indication of grime or cracking to add a level of detail and interest to those empty panes. Probably harder to pull off, but a nice change of pace from adverts. Best of luck, and thank you as always for your wonderful videos. Easily the highlights of my week.
Aww, thanks. That means a lot. Get your questions in for the Q&A if you haven't already. I think we're recording this weekend!
Genius idea using the pizza cmf parts for the sign
I hve two of those pizza shops, 4 of the pizza/bike shop city set, and 4 of the pizza vans, just need to find a way to combine them all
That is a LOT of pizza, haha. Wow!
Lovely upgrade Robin, I think the windows could use a sticker or two?!
Yup. I've added several as a start for Part 2!
Looks amazing❤ the Stickers a enough 🎉
I think so too!
As an M.I.B. reference you can have a poster pointing to some keys in your pizza scene. Also that sign is a heck of a deep dish!
That's a reference that I must've forgotten, haha. Oops!
This is so exciting, I've been waiting for this spot of the city to be filled! 🎉🎉
I'm amazed it took this long!
Yes yes. Tottaly the Wright spot for the pizza 🍕 shop above the TMNT. Are 🐢🐢🐢🐢😊💥👌.
Oh yes indeed!
I would use the oven and mailbox together, make one set on fire and them scrambling to put it out
I think the building as is has enough stickers, when you add more it may be harder to see the inside
That's why I was skeptical. Maybe other buildings need adverts on them for here!
Are they part of the mafia? Maybe that could be another scene? The Super Secret Police *WeeWoo are watching them?
I have too many baddies already, haha. I think these Italians are innocent, although that may make the SSP more interested!
Try use most of the stickers as they are all really cool
That's a lot!
Fantastic!
Many thanks!
I think you should replace the blue table top with one that is either white, red, or that same shade of green to correspond better to the building.
LOADZ A Stickers!
Bring it!
City pizza needs all the stickers lol
11:45 i shall a small plate under the counter so that it is same hight and also the doors can be open
12:47 for the sundea's tap maybe in different colour for the flavor you shall selling it?
13:53 maybe they are twin brothers like Mario and Luigi 😂 as for the story in your pizza restaurant?
maybe replace some tiles with stud tiles for your customer to stand there and maybe also sewer lid for your Turtles can get one to buy
yeah on the windows i like the word "City Pizza" but more on the top line than bottom of the windows display. (not the curved place just on the street level so to see)
i hope to chimey also out your 3D sign?
Maybe they are all related, haha.
No my chimney just vanishes, to be fair. Maybe I need something more!
@@RobinHoodBricks i shall see in part 2 than 😄
That pizza canopy I'd simply brilliant! Well done.
Thanks so much!
Looks good Robin. Rather than more pizza place stickers do you have any ice cream/gelato ones you can put on the left hand window? It feels like it's lacking ice cream shop branding at the moment (love the giant pizza canopy though)
Part two will fix that imbalance!
Robin I love how you can take a simple but effective set like this and make things sooo much better! I say more stickers for sure!!
Very kind!
PIZZA!🍕
Yum!
What a lovely build; I really like the interior. I also really enjoy we are returning back in the old city :-)
Yeah, me too. What did it take so long?!
that little aquarium made me think of Chinese restaurant with live fish that you choose your dinner from... but as always love the build. I would think a sticker with on the right window bottom or even on the grey counter would be good - break the grey up!
Hmmm, on the counter. Good plan!
Yet another fantastic build!
The way I immediately clicked the notification!
Woop woop!
The pwenr looks more like he is there to whack someone than greet customers!
Don't let him hear you say that!
That dessert on the top looks like a Nanaimo bar. Look it up on the internet.
The Pizza paddle you mean is called a "Peel." 🧑🍳 You should add lots of stickers, you know what they say: "If less is more, then just think how much more, more will be." Packed and Stacked stickers!
You sound like me, haha!
Another great video Robin! Now I’m craving a Nanaimo bar 🇨🇦
Great details for the interior! The 3D pizza is the best. it could even be done for other head pieces like those cakes. More stickers, more details, more fun 😊👍 I’m guessing a person taking a bite out of a pizza as the big 3D sign… or a person having to choose between pizza or ice cream 😄
Not a bad guess. It was hard getting three big pizza costumes but the melon and cake could be next!
Could you replace the menu on the inside with a city pizza menu from the sticker pack?
Maybe, but the colours are just identical. Maybe I should use them ALL and cover every flat surface!
Love the build Robin, it's awesome! It's difficult to improve on such greatness, but maybe pizza quarter tiles for door handles, or possibly even one waffle quarter tile door handle to go with the existing ice cream door handle. Also for the two ice cream finials on the roof, replace with both the cones and ice cream pieces to make a full cone, maybe intermittently across the roof instead of just the two corners. Might advertise the gelato within a bit more. Can't wait to see the next episode. Thanks for the awesome content.
I just didn't want door handles looking identical to food on the table tops!
Impressive use of the pizza guy head piece! Great work.
Much appreciated!
It looks really cool. What if the pizza is facing the front or turning on a stand instead of facing up where non of the inhabitants can see the pizza?
You may be seeing into the future for my 3D sign!
@@RobinHoodBricks Ah, really cool. I always look forward to your amazing builds. There's a lot of functionality and spirit of lego in there.
Hi robbin your city good form me city not lot of plant and happy newyear🐉
I have a big box of plants to add and I've never done it. My life is too busy, haha!
I was looking at getting that town squer set. As i got the one from 4 so years back .that had a red bus in it to. .and all so whanted to get the. Bus station set. That had. The blue bus. You got and chandged few years back .😊. I was looking at geting that. Newer .town squer set. With the yellow mona rail and stage .😊 But. Not got around to getting on atm .
Very cool!
What adding some air conditioning units on the roof and a discrunted employee doing the dishes
Haha, that would be me. I hate doing dishes!
Brilliant as always. I really enjoyed watching, and that pizza sign is perfect!
Glad you enjoyed it. Just wait for the second big one!
Hey Robin! I love the lime! I never would've associated it with pizza, but it looks so good! Also, I was curious what do you think of the new lego Reddish Orange color? Thanks!
I can't say we needed that new colour, but I'm fine with it!
The oven should have a shelf
Yeah, I never got that. I think they're rare due to historic losses!
Amazing work! It looks very good.
