- The elevators finally work on the free abandoned airplane! There were a lot of issues with the elevator, there were wrong parts and broken parts on the elevator mechanism. We got all of the issues worked out and the elevator works perfectly! We also flew down to Winchester, VA to check on the Saratoga engine, worked on the Austin Healey some more, and much more!

I am happy to see Sam again. I’m sure he has his own life but it’s always great to see him happy and enjoying being a part of the Rebuild Rescue projects.
It's awesome when he stops by, one of our biggest fans!!😂🤣👍🏻
I was thinking the same thing...
Seems like it's been a long time since he's made an appearance.
Nice you mentioned it. I hope he is healthy.
I would love to have yhe Austin
For the Austin you should check out Rimmer Bros they are a few miles from me in Lincoln England they are the go to for all thing’s British cars it’s were I get all my MG parts from and have loads of Austin parts and will ship to America
I feel like these videos have been click bait with how little we see the abandoned airplane. Other stuff is cool but not what I click for.
You're complaining about them not working on the plane, on a video of them literally working on the plane, L O L find a hobby
I agree Cory...it switched fast.
Yeah, a 37 minute long video about them working on the 401 where only 13 minutes of the video was them working on the 401 and the rest of the time was doing other things...
Boohoo. Content that keeps you entertained nonetheless.
I would love to have the Austin. I'm 72 years old, and I would so enjoy that car!
It is not Saturday Morning without a Good cup of coffee and a eps of Rebuild Rescue.
That's awesome to hear! Thank you for being apart of the Rescue Family
Was watching this earlier. Had to step away and when I came back it was gone. Thought I was losing my mind! Lol. Glad it is back
Great to see the 401 slowly coming back from the dead. And always love seeing sam.
Our progress is really motivating us right now! We're getting more and more excited to see her in the air 👍🏻
There are actually 3 ways.
The right way, the wrong way and the air force way. As a former air force guy….I learned that the HARD way😂
My wife and I love your videos. We would really love the Austin! It would be loved and taken care of!! Not to mention it would be a life saver!! Thank you for considering us!!
Ricky and Gina
Good to see the whole team.
Happy Veteran's Day to all who served!!!
Absent Brothers and Friends...
HOOOYAAAH!!!
Dear Jason,
It’s so good to see how you’re progressing with the Cessna 401 and it’s hard to understand that in the past this airplane wasn’t maintained with original replacements for parts they had to change so when the Cessna 401 will be finished she’ll fly as safe as she just rolled off from the production line in the years this type of Cessna was produced. I really love to see with how much efforts, dedication and love you’re bringing her back in the air. I realize there’s still a lot to do before this moment will arrive but I’m completely convinced that you will get this beautiful aircraft flying again in her full old days glory. I look forward to your next vlog and send you love from the Netherlands
Hey Brother, good to see you! You're always positive and motivating every week! Have a restful weekend and thank you for being a crucial part of the Rescue Crew!
The Austin Healey is looking good.
My wife and I love the 401 project! We also dream of winning the Austin and cruising together with the top down in the summer!
I want the Austin!
That sounds awesome! Good luck on the giveaway Brother👍🏻
I can only imagine what it's going to feel like, the first time you sit in that seat and pull back on the yoke for the first time. Outstanding job guys 👏
I want the Austin! You are moving fast on the 401. I've been doing some research on the Austin. It looks like it's a 67, which introduced some nice upgrades over the earlier Sprites and Midgets. It has essentially the same engine as the Classic Mini Cooper. A couple of the Mini companies are offering EFI parts for that engine. Some really interesting upgrade could be made to the Sprite. Someone is going to get s really special car.
This is the most expensive free plane I've ever seen... Thanks for this, it's rearranged my brain on whether I could ever fix up an old airplane...
Both the 401 and the Austin are coming along nicely! I want the Austin!!!!!!
So glad that you got the bugs out of the video. Was really looking forward to the progress.
Thank you for all the support Bob! We are glad to have you here on the channel
Great to see the 401 sitting on its wheels and the elevators moving. Like a lot of projects, it seems like nothing's happening for a long time because you take it apart and find all the hidden problems, and then suddenly everything's happening all at once. Looking forward to the rebuilt engines, the new interior, and the new instrument panel.
Joe was BORN ready!
I just gotta have the Austin Healy Sprite. It will bring my youth back.
Great to see Sam again. Sam and I are the same age, were not old just slower.
Honestly, I'm feeling a sense of panic about being stuck in that tail. The last time I was in a space even remotely close to that tight was in my mom's attic, and I nearly got stuck there. When I was younger (and in much better shape) I had no issue with that sort of thing. Now that I'm old and have gray hair developing everywhere, it's a whole lot of "nope".
I like your honesty and humility
Seeing work on the Austin had me missing the '73 MGB GT i used to have. What a fun car to drive!
It was great seeing Sam back. It seems like forever ago when he was the mystery owner of the 401 offering it free if you could start it. Unbelievable progress and attention to detail. The Austin is really coming along as well. I want the Austin.
Pretty scary doing that kind of work and knowing that, had you missed it, all that's separating you from death at any moment would be that bolt not backing out! That's why its so important to check over and over. Glad you guys found that and got it fixed.
I've seen planes with critical parts in much worse shape flying around.
Oh "my car is looking lovely! When will she be ready? You guys are doing an absolutely GREAT JOB!
Was browsing, found your channel. One week later and all episodes up to 64 episodes watched. Looking forward to the rest of the story. Thank you all.
I have watched every episode since the beginning. I look forward to your videos each week. Looks like you’re making great progress. I can’t wait to see the finished 401.
Thank you for keeping the faith, it means a lot to us! You guys are the best!
So I've been following this rebuild from day one - was super excited to see something that no one else would ever consider doing, or at least one of the very few.
The amount of detail that is covered is next level and that is the reason why I ended up getting sucked into the following the progress.
Stripping things apart is easy, the rebuilding of it not so much.
However, I can tell over number of videos now, that these guys have got absolutely fed up with working on the plane.
These things take knowledge, time, skill and money to put things back together and it shouldn't go under appreciated.
It sucks to watch a video which doesn't show content on just the 401 but restoration of other other aircraft or automotive I have absolutely zero interest in and just end up skipping.
I'm tempted to just stop watching content for a period of time and come back to just binge watch the 401 content after another year or so.
YES!!! Every once in a while, it IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to go 'blow the dust off' of an airplane by flying it!! Glad everyone survived the flight back from the Mexican restaurant!! =)
I want the Austin!!!
It's great seeing the elevators move again! The Austin is looking really good too.
I have been watching the 401 from the beginning, and seeing the progress of the project is incredible. Taking time to get everything together correctly no matter how hard it is. It’s like pounding your head against a wall, when you’re done it feels so good. As always be safe and enjoy your weekend.
Thank you for being a day one Robert, it means a lot. Have a restful weekend, we'll see you next week !
Banging my head against the wall never feels good when I stop😁
I forgot to mention can't wait to see Joe's new smile! The Austin is looking so good . I would love to win the Austin.
Good job on the flight controls! I WANT THE AUSTIN!
Great progress, she is coming along, glad to see it in the build mode. The Austin is almost ready to bless someone 's life soon. Looking forward to seeing the 235 done. I used to fly with my dad in a 235 back in the 70's.
The Austin is returning to its birthplace, England, to me.
Hey guys! 401 is looking really good! Cant wait to see the new instrument panels! Keep it up please!
Thanks, will do! Have a restful weekend Brother!
Been following from the start! Stoked to see this coming together. BTW! Is “Heighth” a word???
This one works much better
I really want the austin. The 401 is coming along nicely. Keep it up.
I watched you guys a lot more in the start. Now I watch every other video or so. But due to extensive studies I haven't had much time to follow the build. But it's really awsome to see how far and close you've come! I can't wait to see the plane fly. This channel really has grown a lot as well, everything has improved massivly since the start.
Hey Brother! Checking in on us once in a while when you're free means a lot to us. Thank you for being apart of the channel👍🏻
Yeah they aren't doing much, not sure if it's money issues or something else. They are just piddling around
@@robbienorton9522I know people who have restored aircraft and have just helped a friend disassemble and Cessna C172G to be moved to his home 9 hours away from were I live as he is going to restore. To do it properly restoring aircraft takes a lot of time to do it right. For instance in Australia the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) who have lots of volunteers and funding have taken year to restore their aircraft and they have more resources then Jason does.
Is it just me or does this feel like a giant leap in progress? Doing an amazing job, guys. Wish I could be there to help out.
That means so much to us! Thank you for being apart of the rebuild and spreading positivity!
@@rebuildrescue You're welcome, Jason. Just an update on the newest free airplane. A miscommunication and the owner mistakenly gave it to someone else he thought was me. I guess it wasn't meant to be.
@@ShawnPossible😡😡😡
Seeing Altoona brings back memories. Flew my long dual IFR cross-country flight from Kalamazoo to Altoona back in 1980. Had lunch in the same restaurant. Greetings to all my fellow veterans out there!
I cant wait to see the 401 finished. 😊
You guys are really Milking everything you can get out of this project. I want to see it finished, you took so much time on everything else looking good but short cut on the pullies for the control surfaces? Corrosion after all of the aluminum work, don't drop the ball on the 1 yard line! Hope the end is near I would like to see this plane fly.
Editing in stupid gifs smashing stuff ,
Is that the direction this channel is going ?
I WANT THE AUSTIN!!! Awesome job on the 401. It is really coming together.
austin healey ein wunderschönes auto...besten dank und macht weiter so............liebe grüsse aus europa ...schweiz.....and never war...please thanks USA
Some of the bolts used are why these are called the widow makers. ❤ glad the overhaul is detailed and taken the time to do. 😊
I want the AUSTIN! I can't wait to see that airplane finally fly.
Ah the 441 Conquest. I had a lot of time in one of those. Love them.
Love all the planes and I want the car. Great job on the channel.
Thanks for getting the exhaust installed. My neighbors wouldn’t like the roar. I want the Austin!
Wow, both the 401 and the Austin are looking great! I want the Austin
I want the Austin. It reminds me so much of my late Mom From Manchester. 😢
Welllllll I worked with the top designers in a well known aerospace company who all started out working with their hands - mostly automotive. They went back and got their degrees later. So yes many designs were made with little regard for repair but I was blessed to work with and learn from the good ones LOL!
I want the Austin.
Very good
The rebuild is coming along! I want the Austin.
I want the Austin.
Been following your progress on the 401 and you have made tremendous progress. As a retired AP/AI can appreciate the amount of labor involved. Love your channel.
Thank you Steven! We appreciate your support, it always keeps us motivated
I love the Austin.
I have only had MG's, but it would be great to have a car with metal floors and real door handles, I want the Austin.
Once again, I want the Austin!
I want the Austin!
Can't wait to see the 401 interior back in!
I want the Austin! Great news for the 401!
I want the Austin! I had an MGA back in my youth and have always had a soft spot in my heart for classic Brit sport cars! Keep up the good work.
This Episode explains why Aircraft Maintenance Personnel is sorted by size rather than skill xD
I want the Austin.....Looks good ....
I am astonished that inspection ports aren't "oversized" ALWAYS !
.....WOW MAN...I have a PP license, am 65 and haven't flow in 40 years....this is making me want to fly again and cursing why I let 40 years go by.....this series has been great to watch....thoroughly enjoying!
Awesome ! Thank you so much Brother, that means a lot ! Happy to have you apart of the Rescue Family !
Great to see Sam! Kinda missed his sage advice and wit! I want the Austin.
I'd love the Austin. Great job guys 👌
I want the Healey! Love what you guys do!
Not sure if I commented in here, but I definitely “want the Austin”. Love the progress being made on the 401.

Now you're speaking my language.
😂🤣😂🤣
The Austin looks great 👍
I like Joe. Good to have him on the team!
Back in the day we used beer cans for muffler clamps..don’t forget to remove the tie raps on the gear…Austin is looking great..thanks Jason and Joe.
I want the Austin Really good to see Sam again
The Austin looks great. It should be my car .. Really it should.
Good to see Mr Sam after a long interval happy go lucky Mr Sam
Love that little car
"Once I get in that tail, I'm gonna be in there for a while" I can finally relate to something you all are doing lol
The 401 is coming along nicely. One day closer to be able to go back in the air. I want to win the Austin
That Austin Healy would be pretty fun to drive here in the Philippines.
Cool to see the buckshot again. I want the Austin
Nice cleaning job on the air filters....I Want the Austin!
My first Job Was in a 402, best plane i have flown!! Congratulations!!! Excellent job guys!!!!
Wasn't my first flying job but I few 402B's for 1100 hrs. Was a beast of a plane to fly.
Best line you've had: "let's get at it!"
I WANT THE AUSTIN! The exhaust mount in the middle actually attaches to the bell housing bolts. Don't worry about the Austin Healy badge on the hood, I'll replace it when I win.😉
Always enjoy Sams humor ! I want the Austin
I want the Austin Healy. you have done an incredible job. Definitely prefer Joe for King but the 401 is more important
I want the Austin! You guys are doing good work on everything really taking the time that is really needed for the stuff your doing. Airplanes are no joke. I also love the progression of the channel you guys are a lot more comfortable in front of the camera now it’s fun.
I would love to have that beautiful red Austin.
Great job on those elevators cables...
Ah.... I want the Austin!!
Subscribed for the 401. Really wish you’d keep video specific to 401. Speaking for myself I really don’t care to see any part of the Austin renovation. 401 video is top notch
Great to see y’all making progress. My wife sees this and still wants to win the Austin. We had an MG Midget years ago that we were rebuilding for her but had to get rid of it. Good to see Sam out again and always enjoy Joe helping.
I want the Austin.. Even if you don't find a hood emblem. I am looking forward to how the 401 interior turns out. Glad you've reverted the elevator stuff to factory spec for safety.
