Gateway Trails | Mountain Biking in La Crosse, WI

Day 2 in La Crosse brings us to the Gateway Trails near Grandad Bluff Park. Similar to Hixon Forest, most trails include elevation change, so that you are either climbing or descending (some green trails near the trailhead remain relatively flat, but they are the exception).
The gateway trails are flowy, and overall not as technical as the Hixon Forest Trails, with the exception of War Eagle, a fun black-rated one-way downhill trail.
You can string together some trails from the trailhead parking lot all the way down to 29th St. It's fun downhill but ends way too quickly!
A quick pedal from the trailhead and you can take in the vista at Grandad Bluff-worth the view for sure!

Goes for a lot of places, so many trails have popped up over the last 10 years it’s incredible! They’ve done a great job with all the trail systems in La Crosse 🤘
