"When actors are talking, they are servants of the dramatist. It is what they can show the audience when they are not talking that reveals the fine actor." Cedric Hardwicke x

I have not previously seen this classic film, but wanted to. I'm halfway through it, very much enjoying it. A story of honesty, loyalty, honor and character, in the face of sadistic bullying. Thanks for uploading this.

So other than Freddie Bartholomew, a nicer bunch of young New English gentlemen you couldn't hope to find.

older movies feel like theyre written like books. little details and nuances are picked up along the movie to add connection. nowadays it all seems predictable and full of stuff you cant connect to

This movie neglects the millions of poor, cramed in tenements that were full of mold and filth. The forced child labor was horrible. Dickens wrote a lot about how life really was, because he experienced poverty for a time growing up. The children were mostly uneducated, many forced to work when a parent died, or was disabled working in in unsafe conditions, and children then had to work to pay for food, heat, and lodging. This rugby school with 300 boy's, is not the norm. IT would be nice if they taught about G-d and morality in the public school's, but they would rather teach pick your gender.
