  • The new board chairperson for the East Africa Business Council Angelina Ngalula, has called on East African Community member states to focus on boosting trade with each other, instead of competing and imposing unnecessary non-tariff barriers on goods and services. According to the EABC, despite the existence of common market protocols, the member states are still struggling with issues such as barriers to trade, and discriminative taxes among others. She was speaking while on her first visit to Uganda since being appointed to head the board of the regional body EABC. Angelina Ngalula is also the chief executive of the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation.
