Where we drilled in western PA we only had to drive pipe in areas close to a river because of the gravel. Other than that on occasion you would encounter a bolder and have to move the rig a few feet. Usually only had to run 20’ of 61/4” casing and the wells averaged around 100’. The formations most always permitted open hole drilling in the 81/4” hole!
