- Where does Cesc Fabregas sit in the list of greatest Premier League midfielders? What’s it like trying to pick up the language when playing abroad and why do you always learn the swear words first? What next for Everton and Nottingham Forest after the Toffee’s points deduction was reduced to six?
Gary, Alan and Micah also debate just how much of a difference a manager makes to clubs at the top level.

Absolutely love Alan’s honesty on the treble vs World Cup question.
Never said if it was the domestic treble or the CL
@@PeasNburley Stop being pedantic what do you think ffs!!
Treble must include a league title. That's a must!
As a geordie his answer doesn't surprise me. Pretty sure 99% of us up here would say the same.
Proper Geordie love it
Hahahaha. The way Micah was cheering on the banter waving his hands in the air. Hilarious 😂
Loving the podcast, the rawness of it is fantastic. One request though.. We need the 3 of you in one room together, a couple of beers/bottles of wine for an end of season special!
Lets make it happen 💪🏼
The mentions of Fabregas and Uriah Rennie in this episode make me miss the days of watching football with my dad every weekend 😢
Thing about Cesc is just how good he was at such a young age. His Premier League debut was jaw-dropping.
Roy Keane keeping an eye on Micah in the background
Haha. I see it. 👍
Kes is one of the greatest British films. That pe scene playing football is special
Three pals having great banter! Words can’t describe how unbelievably amazing this podcast is. It’s just like sitting in a Workmen’s club on a Sunday afternoon. 👌🏻
Wow, the question about the Cup and the treble, that tells u the difference in the integrity of a man, some people would rather serve self aggrandizement and self promote, Mr Shearer is a good man
I'm a Liverpool fan and I'm glad everton got points back
. . . only so you can take 6 points off them next season
Really nice to see Gary really made an effort to fit in in Japan and that he still has a big love for the country. Three of my favourite ever players - Shinji Kagawa (at BVB), Minamino and Endo - have been Japanese! They’re incredibly hard working people and give their all for the team, they really should be more respected as a footballing nation.
P.s. for anyone wondering what Gary calling his son “Harry-chan” means, it’s “Cute Harry,” or “Little Harry” as it’s usually reserved for kids or your grandma or someone like that 😊
Kenny and Stevie are great shouts for the Liverpool question: But Fowler, Owen, Rush, Suarez, Barnes, Hansen, Souness. Boy, so many great options!
Keegan, Torres, Alonso, and Berger.
19:25 Regarding the Polish ref from the Newcastle - PSG fixture. It wasn't his fault; VAR hugely mislead him with the angles they showed him on the screen. I don't blame him at all. Anyone would've given the wrong decision if shown what he was shown.
No excuse... even from those angles it didn't look like a handball
Alan’s Chris Nicholl story is so funny😂Love the Pod.
Young Alan from that southampton youth photo looks a lot like Højlund
Thank you, Gary - when i was a student 30 years ago, some cocky pair were trying to test my general knowledge against their's (although they were asking and clearly tailoring the questions to suit themselves and things they knew) and t)hey tried "highest football ground in the league" and I said Boundary Park and they rather mocked as they said The Hawthorns! So my answer off the top of my head (before the internet was available in the pub) was a pretty decent one!
love the pod lads makes my days at work far more tolerable. was wondering if you could make more clips of each pod when your referrencing something like harrys japanes football shirt or micahs petite trophy shelf
Chris Nicholl was dad's labourer at Foden's. My dad couldn't get his head when he said he was leaving to be a professional footballer (probably Luton Town).
Wish they’d have actually answered that Champions League final question!
Love this podcast guys!
Great Goal Gary what were you doing on the left wing😅😅😅
Crazy how you mentioned the zico incident against Sweden when practically the same thing has just happened with Bellingham
Anyone else annoyed they didn’t answer the Liverpool ’05 or United ’99 question? 😂
One of the Original general of the midfield: El Tel. R. I. P.
Terry V.
Great content as always 👏 👌
Micah says Cesc was the original in that role but I think he’s forgetting Andrea Pirlo. I love Fabregas he was amazing for Chelsea and he was also the thrower of the famous pizza, but Pirlo was better.
Jack Taylor! The best of the lot. Tongue in cheek😅
I remember when you said when everton got the 10 points was why they won/drew a few games. I feel saying this reduction will give them a push after they have struggled again for ages is pushing it. I think it’s more relief
5:45 I letteraly died laughing🤣🤣
This has to be the best podcast overall🤣
Great pod guys, watching from kenya 🇰🇪. How do I send questions?
Such a brilliant podcast compared to others out there….
What's next for Everton is safety imo. A second charge IF points, won't be that much since 75% of it is already covered in the first charge. An ideally once this season is done it brings an end to all of it. We can enjoy our final season at Goodison an move into the new stadium looking toward a better future.
11:38 this point was made many times in regards to the Real Madrid team Zidane managed lol
The picture of Pep 😂
Thought Shearer may have a soft spot for Lincoln City which is where he made his Newcastle debut!
That Liverpool question. I'd say Fernando Torres up front would suit the way Liverpool currently plays. Kenny Dalgish and Steven Gerrard fit in in any era.
Alan, Gary, Micah. Do you ever question an international coach about a position of a player(s) I.e. a player may play a certain position for their club but isn’t the best fit for the country but their skill level gets them in
You should get Stefan Borson on as a guest, would be a great episode.
Clive THE BOOK Thomas 🙈🙈
Brilliant from Shearer on this one 😂😂😂
Anyone see a resemblance between Alan's Southampton youth team photo 8:41 and Rasmus Hojlund in the current day!? Uncanny!
Love you Al!
Love the pod cast but cant hear Garry very quiet
John Barnes would possibly slot into todays Liverpool squad 😊
Where you're thoughts about Henrik Larsson as a striker ❓❓
Like you're chanel here keep on good work 👌 from 🇸🇪🇪🇺
No mention of the late great
Stan Bowles R.I.P
Alan, Gary, Micah. Do you ever question an international coach about a position of a player(s) I.e. a player may play a certain position for their club but isn’t the best fit for the country but their skill level or club they play for gets them in
How do you send a question in too the guys?
With how shit Newcastle has been, their fans would probably take a Carabao Cup, Community Shield and Conference League treble over a world cup.
Micah may not of spoken great Italian (whamo instead of uomo) but he certainly got the swearing down to a tee. 😂 On another note I’m convinced that Colina had the reputation of being a top ref simply because of his distinct look. I never thought he was anything special.
Yeah, I completely agree. From my memory, he wasn’t anything special but he was intimidating.
I once in my youth told a ref to go back to school he was a bad ref. only thought was about the money.
Everton still has this year breach penalty plus likely Administration 9 point deduction coming if 777 pulls out
For your 200 episode can u do a live episode in front of a crowd have a couple guests & so on
Well in
Not sure about Olliver lads😅 gave one of the worst penalties in modern history in the iconic watford leicester game
A break after 17 mins, in a half hour episode.. podcasts are meant to be long format
Micah, why have you got apicture of Roy Keane looking down on you over your left shoulder????
Roger Kirkpatrick 😂 what about Allan Gunn 😅
13:20 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Here is a question. Let's give some honest answers.
If England men play England women, in a proper game, what is the score? 😮😮
Fair play Alan. Club over country without a doubt
I think more teams should've been deducted points given the criterion for the decision. Honestly, I'm not sure it can be construed as good news, as a result, given the lack of punishment elsewhere x
jack Taylor was a great ref
There’s stories that Best left because he didn’t want Man United to win the cup because he was in the squad to win their only previous one
Alans fave lower league team should be GTFC Justin whittles elbow
Obvious Shearer didnt read Everton submission and doesnt understand the ruling
Matt le tissier?never heard of him Alan 🤣🤣
My 3 would be Gerrard, Suarez and Wijnaldum
yes alan haha
We never got any money from that bloody sell on clause cause when he finally left it was on a loan to Fiorentina then a free to Villa. That fan mail doesn't sound like he was a City fan at all hahaha
Courtney hated city. He was a right bastard
The production on tis episode was very poor, the animations that cover each shot were out by many seconds throughout, not rhe same quality as normal. *Up the toon*
Go over there on the bench
😂😂😂😂😂😂
22:05 'Cesc Fabregas' Peek Years'?! Join us at 8pm on ITV when the diminutive World Cup winning Spaniard takes us on a journey through the history of the telescope.
ALONSO !
Derby County!!!!!
Go over there on the bench😂
I mean let's be honest. Yes, world cup is such a big excitement, great tournament, create great football memories etc. But I strongly believe that most football fans, regardless of their nationality, would be happier if their football club wins a treble rather than their national team winning a world cup. So, basically a manager winning a treble for his club would have more satisfaction. Alan was just being honest. But I can see where Gary is coming from. In my opinion World Cup meant more for people during the period he played. But still I agree with Alan.
I'd be so happy if my team won the treble but c'mon the World Cup is the pinnacle!
Gary have I never thot that geo best left with your wallet 😂😂😂 that’s why left early 😂😂
I wonder how many times Gary says i 🤢
E😊
🩵👏🏽
Fabregas the one. Who spat on a bloke
rules are rules, bye bye Everton and Forest - COME ON LUTON TOWN FC - proper club.
Micah trying to master Italian when he's still stuck on English Basic and not knowing the difference between "them/those" and "was/were".
This is more widespread than you'd think lol. I'd argue almost all of us speak imperfect English.
Grammar police!
True. We all have our flaws and grammatical blunders, but only a few have the privilege to call public speaking work. If I were in his position, I'd perfect my knowledge of the language and widen and improve my vocabulary. @@lawrencebaker1811
@lawrencebaker1811 True. We all have our flaws and grammatical blunders. But few of us can say that we work as public-speakers. If it I were on his position, I would try to perfect my grammar, eloquence and improve my handling of the language in general.
the fake laughing and dragging storys like zabaletta for months on end Jesus guys
