Season 1 was amazing and should have had more viewers.
I think season 2 is a more mature show. I loved season 1, but 2 is very good.
This show ain't forcing"The Message" on anyone. That's why.
Why is Reacher so popular? Maybe it's because the production team actually respects the source material and sought out the input of the original author. They don't try to "update the story for modern audiences".

Reacher is an amazing show! It is one of those shows that I will watch as soon as it is released and I can not wait for more. Alan Ritchson nails it. He is perfect in the role.

It works because it very closely follows the BOOKs. Something most adaptions from Hollywood does not understand.

JOHN CAMPEA! HEAR ME! There’s some things I want you to know about Reacher. First off. The first season was dropped all at once. It didn’t air weekly. I watched it day of and binged the whole thing in one night. It was glorious. I haven’t watched any of season 2 yet cuz I would drive myself crazy waiting for the next episodes. They dropped the first three episodes and have chosen to air the rest weekly. Smart strategy if you ask me. Second. I think you’re slightly wrong on why this show is so popular. Yes it’s a really good “who done it?” But there are plenty of good murder mystery thriller shows and movies out there. This one is has become so popular because it’s a big guy beating the shit out of bad guys. To me. That’s the high brow of this IP. Reacher. The character. Is what sells it. Not so much the story. I mean yes you need a good story. But make no mistake the selling point is the big guy. He is the high brow. No. The big brow. Just wanted to share those thoughts with you.
Watched Reacher season 1 the week before season 2 started and I was hooked. Not going to lie it is fire. Best show on Amazon Prime 🔥

This is why I hate that Netflix is so fast to cancel so many shows one season in.
I didn’t watch Reacher for several months after all episodes had released… I like to binge a whole series on my own time and I wasn’t sure if I would be into it. Loved it so much that now I’m watching S2 every week but Netflix takes low viewership during the first couple of week, and will cancel something before anyone has even had a chance to watch all the episodes. (1899 for example )
Still can't believe how they cancelled Mindhunter after S2 🙄

Amazon dropped the first season of Reacher all at once. And if the season 2 (3 episode) premiere broke viewership records in its FIRST weekend that's actually an indicator that audiences prefer binging to waiting on weekly drops. The weekly release model may be better for networks and streaming services who seek to monopolize their subscribers time, but it's not an inherently superior model for audience satisfaction. We the people want to binge! 👀

I've read every Reacher book. I can do them in 2 days. Im on the last one now The Secret and its like the rest, unputdownable. Lees brother Andrew is taking over the writing duties and i hope he sticks to the formula. Love Reacher. Everybody needs a Reacher in their life.

I hope they continue the series as long as Alan wants to do it. It’s rare to see such a good quality show that’s been adapted from something faithfully nonetheless. I haven’t read the book this season is based on but I read killing floor and i loved the first season. Just keep doing it

Just watched E7 and it was quite emotional by the end, its not often i say something out loud about a show but did again today. I am starting to feel the anger with the other guys i felt in S1, i want justice for them so bad i am desperate for some serious payback, which with Reacher i know will come.

I have been reading the books since they first came out inthe 90’s. I think alot of book readers got their friends and family to watch.
Reacher is a fun show to bet on. Just for fun i was tracking how long it took in S2E1 for Jack to engage in an over the top act of violence. I was not diappointed. It was about 2 minutes.

I admit, i have seen season 1 of Reacher when it was released. Had a blast, cast was great and story was interesting. I didn't stay in touch with the news when season 2 was going to be released... but the moment i have found out its out? oh boy, those first 3 episodes... in one evening
I think people enjoy the show because it just tries to be a good entertaining show and that’s it.
You’re right, it is that simple but with the amount of shows streamers want to put out it’s harder than it sounds to create entertaining shows like this.

Reacher season 1 got me to start reading the books ( 8 books so far ). I binge watched the first 3 episodes of season 2. I can't wait to watch more.
The books weren't that popular!!!!????? Boy are you guys out touch. Those books sold over 100,000,000 (that's 100 million) copies world wide. Yes books, not audio. First book was published 1997 way before your time probably.
Yeah Prime is doing great! Reacher season 1 was really good because he's a big hulking smart guy not a buffoon like most shows or movies. He can think on his feet. Netflix still edges out nearly all platforms for me because they drop a season in 1 day usually not this week to week stuff.
AND these records will also lift up the first season, because a lot of people are now watching it, that haven't watched when it came out.

This will catapult Alan Ritchson into huge popularity coz every dad is gonna be talking about him… I wouldn’t be surprised if he is in chats about trying to get Batman coz he looks like him like cmon… plus he looks like the face model used in the Arkham Origins deathstroke vs Batman cinematic trailer😅
Reacher isn’t the most popular book series in the world, but it will be after this series. The reason why the series is doing so well is because the author is actually onset and making sure that this is actually going to work. As soon as I saw the trailer two years ago at the Super Bowl, I knew they finally got it right. And so when the first season came out I was like we need to watch this so I convinced my parents and we all watched it together and got sucked in immediately. So we watched the first two episodes together and my dad and I we finished the third one but since the new one comes out today i’m hoping that tomorrow we can watch the next two episodes as a family. I purposefully avoided all spoilers to this season and read a different Jack reacher book instead. But yeah, I am just thrilled to death that it is doing so well. And to be fair the second season has one of the best house oriented Battle scenes I think I’ve seen in a movie or a television show.
Started watching it today, really enjoying it. Alan is a movie star but he looks exactly like shazam still can't see him as Bruce but I will hold my judgement still I finish the series

I'm not working at the moment which has been a problem for a few years I couldn't afford season one on Prime, I bought season 1 on CZcams last year, I loved it so I paid up on the 15th for season 2 on prime, its an excellent season so far just as I write this just watched ep 4 and it rocks, love his work ethic love the one liners the fights are a bit strong but never holds back, I wince at the broken limbs though, anyway what I am saying is its worth the £8.99 UK pounds. I can't recommend it enough I love it, watch it seriously.
Not only is Alan Ritchson the perfect Reacher the showrunners are geniuses. They take all the flaws in the book source material and fix them. I read the book (this season is based on) in anticipation of this 2nd season and to be honest...it was very weak. But every single problem I had with the book has been corrected in the Amazon series. I don't want to go into all of the things they improved (to avoid spoilers) but two key things that spring to mind was 1) "figuring out the USB password" was done a lot faster in the series because the execution in the book was dragged out and lame and 2) the evil baddie was obvious to readers very early on in the book (while Reacher was stupidly oblivious to the possibility) but the series rewrote this to make it more organic how Reacher figures it out at the same time as the audience, building more suspense and making Reacher seem more capable. I could go on and on but the writers deserve 100 gold stars for improving on the book to make the story and characters much more engaging.
I think secretly they are Batman fans. They are adding Batman characteristics to their Reacher. He's an incredible Detective, a very sharp mind, almost invincible fighter, knows how to get the advantage in any combat situations, just like Batman, with preparation, he's a nightmare for the Organized Crime entities he's going up against. I'll bet most of the viewership are us Batman fans. DC gets too caught up with the cute gadgets and super advanced tech, but the fans love other aspects of Batman. Reacher is like a Batman variant that happens to be a Hobo who is willing to kill. He's Batman without the cape, cowl, goofy gadgets and vehicles.

I would say season 2 isn't quite as good as season 1. It's still better than most other shows being produced. Season 2 has succeeded partially because of the success of season 1.It's success is mostly due to the creators trying to translate some popular well written books without trying change them too much. They aren't updating it for "modern audiences". They didn't try to add any social, political or gender commentary. So many other shows and movies have suffered greatly because of things like that. Star Trek Picard Season 1 and 2, (season 3 is great) Doctor Who, and the MCU have all declined because of those types of changes.
I mainly have prime for free shipping. If not for free shipping I would have cancelled Prime years ago. Prime occasionally has a great show every few years, hardy enough to justify a subscription.

You've got a quirky character with an insanely positive core. He sees and deduces what's going on faster than possible. Plus, the series remains true to the books, which the purists love. Netflix could take a lesson after their Witcher debacle. The violence is graphic, but I really like that the anger is channeled toward the bad guy and they get theirs in the end. (This is the simple kind of guy that we'd all like to see beat the shit out of Trump and Biden and every other politician). There is still plenty of source material to make additional seasons. And his interactions with the other characters are well drawn out (realistic, humor, some threats before they trust each other, etc.).
Maybe Hollywood needs to take note and see that Male lead action heroes are still popular!

Sure. Each season is based on one of the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child. The first season is based on the first book, The Killing Floor.

They don’t release numbers. A 50% increase could from 200,000 viewers to 400,000. TV ratings/ streaming ratings nowadays are low due to a ton of content.
