- Why are you so orange? I do not fake tan, it's the filters on my camera and they can sometimes turn me warmer than I am depending on the light, although I am quite tan naturally in person (I'm Italian)

vegancorn it’s been about 3 years since I bought from fast fashion brands and I honestly think that thrift stores have better clothes than retail stores :)
For me pants is an pain in the ass to thrift. In Holland (europe) there are not this many clothes to thrift. Especialy small pants. (Only large ones and Im an extra small) but you are soooo right. We all have so many stuff
And yet there are SO many cities, countries that don't have enough clothes
My wardrobe is 95% thrifted and ironically what I didn’t anticipate is that I now have a MUCH nicer high-end wardrobe by just thrifting than back when I could only afford F21, H&M, etc. It takes time and patience but I’m finding Vera Wang, Banana Republic, Ralph Lauren, Dior, The Limited, White House Black Market, etc. There’s no way I could afford my own wardrobe if I paid what’s its worth. And when I get a craving for Free People, etc I go to ThredUp.
Another plus about getting the better brands, is that they are made better (most of the time), and will likely outlast some new clothes!
Yes agreed. I don’t see too much F21 or H&M in my local thrift stores, maybe they don’t survive long enough to be donated? My daughters blouses often tear at the seams and have to be thrown out.
I’ve only been to gargage & yard sales, but I’ve always gotten so many newer brands like free people, etc. for really cheap! shopping there for clothes is always a great idea- it’s a great combination of vintage and trendy- for great prices.

YALL AND BY THAT I MEAN EVERYONE ON THE COMMENT SECTION ALWAYS WEAR GLOVES WHENEVER YOU GO TO A PLACE LIKE THIS. there is so much going on in those bins you don’t know . And always wash those clothes as soon as you get home before putting them in your room .
I always place any thrifted clothes in a large airtight plastic bag closed with a rubber band then tossed into our deep freezer for four nights. THEN I take the clothes out then wash them. I won't gamble bed bugs.... 🐛🛏

Such great finds! Thrifting made me not want to pay not even 30 dollars on a new dress, I see it as not worth it, especially when the people making it are paid way too low for how much they work. My favourite thriftstore brings new lots every two weeks and from a shirt that’s initially 8 dollars, they lower the price every two days until each item in the store is 50 cents. I bought amazing blouses, dresses and sweaters from there. Silk, linen, vintage, Zara, just great stuff. And even when my washing machine shrinked two items, I didn’t feel that sorry, I paid like nothing on those. I felt sorry just because they were pretty. I donate more often and changed my wardrobe in one year (I wanted more dresses and blazers) and it was so cheap to change almost 80% of my wardrobe. Thrifting is not just cool and fun, it really is a way of taking care of a more sustanable future and consume less.
GLOVES ARE NECESSARY goodwill outlets and be nasty sometimes. Handsanitizer is a must too
When you said “get yourself a Carrie” I’m like “I AM a Carrie 😭” I always find the cutest outfits for my tiny friends when secretly, deep down, I wish it were my size whenever I picked it up Hahahaha. But it’s all love! Sharing is caring ☺️❤️
Yeah for sure and we always will find stuff for each other as well, it’s also nice having someone that has the same style too! That way if you find something that you like but you know the other person will love it’s just such a nice feeling ☺️ she is a queen!

I always wanted to stop buying from fast fashion brands as I promoted charities and ethically sourced food, but was always scared of multiple things, such as: people looking down at me (I live in England and thrifting isnt really a trend here when it comes to clothes, it's alright for home decor and stuff but not clothes or shoes),
Not finding modest clothing,
Not finding my size as I'm xs and i dunno about america or other places but here where i live i always keep finding mediums 😅,
Also it us very difficult to even find second hand clothes here, especially at a affordable price, however after watching u I've realised that no matter the difficulty of finding clothes, or if they're abit expensive or if people tease me and look down on me, we all have an obligation to look after both this planet, the animal and other people and fast fashion is NOT the way forward in anyway ethically, thanks for making me take this step. I brought my first thrifted hoodie the other day from a second hand website for £5!

Good for you!! When I first gave up fast fashion a year ago, I felt the same way as you-a little nervous about what people would think. But then I decided to start boldly telling people that I only buy secondhand because I don’t participate in fast fashion, and NO ONE has had a single negative comment to say about that. If someone likes your hoodie and asks where you got it, take that opportunity to tell them about why you say no to fast fashion! You can be the start of changing people’s minds where you live. 😊 Hugs from the US!

Like girl yeah, if I was what's it too u? Thankfully I am blessed to be able to afford a comfortable enough life style to buy new clothes but I choose not to, some dont and that's nothing to bully others over. She gave me a few odd looks but I dont care, I'm not doing this for others im doing this for our planet that is getting destroyed by pollution, the poor animals getting killed and harmed in the making of them, the child labourers used to make the actual clothing and the unethical working conditions for all employees, together WE CAN MAKE A CHANGE hugs from england x
@@skybright9447 I'm from the UK too! I've been shopping second hand/ charity shops for years now and now 80% of my wardrobe is second hand!
Shopping in charity shops can be tricky to start off but the more you do it the more it becomes second nature
I wouldn't worry about being teased as I proudly say where my clothes come from and most people think it's cool/interesting and the few that turn their noses up at it I pay no attention to
I guess it depends a bit on the area but I find clothes for so so cheap and really nice and good quality stuff. Most of my clothes bags and shoes are under a fiver! Always look out for the clearance charity shops and have a rummage, and keep an open mind rather than looking for specifics
Whoever complained about yall wearing gloves, HAS NEVER BEEN TO A GOODWILL OUTLET!! lol. That whole store is disgusting. They literally dont go through anything and just put them in bins. My friend worked there and said some of stuff they find is vile!! Lol. Wear gloves to the outlets.
My husband and I went to Palm Springs during this past summer, there was a clearance center there for a local chain thrift store. All the adult clothes was $1 each and kids 50 cents. It was amazing!

They are everywhere hon! Salvation Army, really helps people with the money they make from selling donated items. Which is another one for second hand shopping.

I’m from Australia and I went to my first goodwill outlet in Hillsboro Oregon In November! I purchased a few things but the real stand out was a Vans brand bag BUT it was the print of the little mermaid. I paid (I think) about $17usd for everything I purchased (which was quite a bit.) and the bag itself is worth wayyyy more than what I paid! I think the whole vibe was REALLY overwhelming. There was people diving at bins with masses of items in their multiple trolleys. Every bin that was brought out a P.A was made to stay clear of the bin until the workers moved away and people would swarm like flies to sh*t. I also didn’t realise what it was like before I turned up and didn’t bring gloves so I wasn’t too fond of digging about too much in bins BUT everyone else there was wearing gloves.

A tip for buying bottoms without trying them on, I find this works for most people! Your waist circumference is usually the same as your neck so if you wrap the waistband if your pants around your neck(with the pants done up) and it fits it should also fit your waist :)

Honestly i love how relatable you are! I love how you know that 10-15 dollars for a sweater is expensive cause sameee. Other youtubers spend tonsss of money but i much rather prefer the thrifting expirience and prices of course. I mean since i was a little girl my mom took me to thrift stores. Greetings from 2023. The Goodwill outlet here in Everett WA is $1.89 per pound. I got Madewell, Liz Claiborne, a blazer, and a couple other little items for $12. It was awesome.
