    You forgot the biggest reason to buy this car - it's built right here in the UK!!
    P.S plant your foot and when revs get to the top start to bring your foot slowly back - this will encourage the car to torque fill with the battery and lower the loudness as a result (it's mint, like!)....
    P.P.S the 5th generation hybrid in the Corolla Cross (should be with you around November) has 194bhp from it's 2 litre setup and has improved the 'rubber band' effect, at least that's what the engineering people reckon!

    Suzuki knew that wouldn't meet their emission targets in certain markets which is why they're hybrid only. That is the only reason why they exist, so they don't get fined.

    Are you certain that the SV5 comes with leather? Can't find anywhere other than your good self that says that. Local dealer just looks on Suzuki UK site which says fabric. Any help greatly appreciated

      Probably too late of a reply but it doesn't. I think they may only be referring to the steering wheel? No idea, but the only leather it's got is on there. What is particularly useful about the top trim though are the 360° parking sensors. If you need to squeeze it into tight spaces often, I'd say they're a must have.

      Toyota has a 4.9% share of Suzuki. It also has shares in Mazda and Subaru, hence all the collaboration and indeed cross sharing of Toyota technology with the much smaller manufacturers. Mazda will have gone bankrupt if they have to go all alone in developing the next-gen range of hybrid and EV cars.

      @@rc666 thats one way of looking at it , yet they invented a lot of stuff that actually other manufacturers just copied and use under their name. Japanese people just don't have same sense on design of cars or some other stuff as we Europeans give credit to it. In first place it has to be reliable and usable, building something and releasing it that has subpar reliability is considered a personal shame. They take time and pride in designing something and improving on it on each generation. The mentality of designing for instance a car is , You are supposed to keep driving it until there is a new better model or change class because Your life has improved in status or for instance You need a bigger car cause Your family grew, and not because it packed up, and left You on the road. It still have 4 wheels and there is not much breakthrough in any generation that You are supposed to sell Your old car and rush to buy a new one. Its just a commodity and a personal /family transport. They managed to sway a lot of Americans towards them with reliability , and yet they still had to make almost a separate company in USA that will serve its market with their specific wishes. Europeans are much harder to cater to - so in reality they just decide its not worth it.

    • @TL-xw6fh
      @TL-xw6fh Před 2 lety +4

      Toyota do not use CVT gearboxes! They are actually a lot more complex than the rubber-band type of CVT that we tend to think. Check this out here czcams.com/video/O61WihMRdjM/video.html. The design is very efficient and extremely reliable. There are millions of these gearboxes in cars such as the Prius, Camry, Rav4, etc etc.
