I bought the ship from Takealot.com in South Africa for R519 in September 2021 (approx £26.03 / US$ 35.77).
The ship dimensions are:
70cm long x 24cm wide x 61cm high (including the stand)
For the LEDs you’ll need:
2 x AA Batteries

The Flying Dutchman is a tiny bit smaller than the Q Anne. But still an amazing ship to have. Plus the Dutchman has LEDs so that takes it to a whole new level 🖤🏴☠️

I have this kit and I'm about to put the hull on to make it look more smooth and less like a fish bone but it's so much fun to build

I would love an actual model of this ship, but they're all too expensive for me to afford, is this a good substitute? I get that it holds up as it is but does it look good as some sort of replica? Very nice showcase anyways its just hard to tell on a screen sometimes if the white boarders are too jarring.
I totally get what you’re saying. Seeing something in person is better than on a screen ☺️
In my personal opinion, this one is pretty close to a proper replica. Especially when viewing it from afar you can’t even see that it’s a puzzle. ☺️ I was a bit hesitant before I purchased this one, but I haven’t regretted it one bit.
The real replicas are super expensive. This one is a pretty awesome alternative. ☺️ Especially for the price 😂

I have no idea what the scale is 😅. I’ll have to go look if it’s in the manual.
But the actual dimensions of the built ship is:
70cm long x 24cm wide and 61cm high

Hoping I can find some figures the same size. There are 1/350 figures available so there might be some for that as it is larger than 1/350th. James
One thing ybat i really struggling with is the hull the bottom part with the gun holes... When i pop in one side the other psrt pops out if that makes sense

What is it made of
Hey Déøñtâè ☺️ the printed part is a glossy thick paper and the inside is a foam core. You can check out my Diagon Alley videos where I show them a bit more up close. ☺️

Some of the pieces especially last embellishments are sometimes a bit loose. So I glued them. But from all the puzzles I’ve built, I’ve only needed to glue 4-5 pieces in total. I glued the bood panels on my Quality Quidditch supplies, 2 ropes on the Black Pearl and one tower on the Hogwarts castle.
So I would say complete the build and see if anything comes loose. I have spoken to other folks with the same puzzles and not all of them are loose on the same pieces, so you’ll have to decide that for yourself. But overall they are pretty stable and robust ☺️

In real life the Flying Dutchman was a 17th century Dutch merchantman, captained by Captain Hendrick Van Der Decken, a skilled seaman but one of few scruples, and in 1680 was proceeding from Amsterdam to Batavia in the Dutch East Indies.
