Dude...you seem to like these museum things which are neat, but cooking store bought food just isn't your channel. What I'd suggest is mitigating this by doing a catch and cook one day, the museum another, and making them one video. Look up what these soldiers were eating seafood wise at the time and specifically do the catch and cook part how they would have eaten. That would be a neat Towsends bent to the occasional episode.

The buckets were fire buckets and used for all kinds of things, Cannons get hot and need to be cooled down so they don't explode when re-loading, also the risk of fire in a castle would be great, especially where you stored your own ammunition. As for the types of cannons, we British name our guns on the weight of the projectile, you saw the traversing carriage is a 24 pounder, meaning the cannon shell would be 24lb in weight... other guns range in various sizes, 12pdr, 9pdr etc etc.
Castle Cornet is an amazing place, I visited in 2019 when in Guernsey for a long weekend and spent half a day there, but could easily spend all day there... also saw a local re-enactment group tell a story about the Guernsey Martyrs, three women burned at the stake for their religion, one of which actually gave birth while on fire!

  • @vikkiirey1038

I always wanted to see the inside of Castle Cornet. I've made a pest of myself on some livestreams asking the locals about it.It really looks cool at night with the lights on.Green with envy over their firearm collection. I remember that they had to swab the barrels out of those big black powder cannons to prevent fouling. I wonder if that's what those buckets are for.Just a guess.I always love to see the local shops in Guernsey as well.If I make it to Guernsey ,I'll know where to go.We have fire baby.LOL!
