Here’s how I beat it extremely quickly: Equip Aerith with time materia (attained by getting the high score in the pirates rampage minigame) and first strike materia (attained by completing ‘horror on the range’ in the combat simulator) and pair a maxed out ice materia with magnify. Immediately cast haste at the start of the fight and get some distance and use lustrous shield and you should build atb extremely quickly by attacking behind the shield. Then cast arcane ward, and continue building atb. Then wait for an opportunity and cast blizzaga and this should immediately stagger them or at the very least pressure them severely and bring them down a decent amount of health as it will cast twice and hit both of them due to the magnify materia and arcane ward. Then cast blizzaga again whilst they’re staggered and it should immediately end the fight. Sorry for the long comment but this will allow you to beat it in 40 seconds or less if you execute everything correctly.
Okay, this is the first time I'm genuinely convinced that the devs didn't quite think this one through. I absolutely love the combat system when used with a team, it's so fluid and satisfying. But 1v1 fights are rough. Aerith is an amazing support character in fights and she has often ended the fights with one shots, but jeeeeeez, on her own, the whole fight is just extremely frustrating. :(
@@dodgyninja2926 yeah thank you. Didnt use aerith much in the game because I don’t really like her gameplay that much. I forgot that the shield is extremely strong in some fights.
@@yatoyaboku4296 The fight is designed, like a lot of fights against elemental enemies, to make you think outside the box of "smash buttons like a pleb until you win". It isn't hard, it isn't badly designed, you're just not engaging your brain. Use your damn materia. Even this guide is pointless unless you're trying to bash your head against the wall and do it the hard way. This fight is literally trivialised by a single, two materia linked combo. Use the tools the game has given you.
@rabid_si i can understand that for lets say super bosses... but this is a side quest. Its the same bs with that cith six fight in shinra manor. Hes not sopposed to be a dps hes sopposed to support your party yet thry have him in a few fights that cheaply stun lock the player
If her poor excuse for a dodge wasn't so terrible. I do not like Aerith solo fights she requires set up time and you cant get that with aggressive ass enemies and no one to take agro away for you
Her bar grows so freaking slowly, when I can finally pop a spell or ability off, she gets interrupted immediately by these ass hats. I'm dead in around 30-45 seconds like every time
The fight is so broken. Very difficult if you do not have high grade accessories. I just run around and wait for summon. There is no chance to attack because both bomb split fire continuously. I don’t know why Shield does not work for me. The fireball explodes through it.
Seemed impossible to do it until I equipped First Strike materia with Barrier, used Manaward / Manawall right away and then just survived until the summon comes up and have Bahamut finish them off. Just realized that lustrous shield would have also helped up the chances of survival.
You need to acquire it through one of the weapons, use it with the correct weapon a set amount of times and you'll be able to use it with any weapon in the future
This is the hardest fight in the whole game so far. Its like a troll by the Japanese. I haven't gotton so mad in a long time. I did try using the lustious shield but they do end up going through and her attacks are so slow. Lucky to even get one in. I didnt think of fire elemental on armour tho. Or haste accessories
Use magnify materia linked to whatever elemental you want. I used blizzard but bombs have no elemental weakness. If you can get enough ATB to hit with the lvl 3 elemental attack inside the arcane ward you should stager both of them with that one attack. Build up your ATB while they’re staggered and hit them again when they wake up. Took me 3 lvl3 elemental attacks to take them out.
THis fight is actually very easy, just equip Aerith with a fire materia linked with a level 2 or 3 elemental materia in the accessory slot and you take no damage.
@fmaster99 already refought it, good thing I put down a save right beforehand. used gravity magic until 1 was dead then slowly whittled down the other. I Will not lie I got incredibly salty, so salty I left this comment lol. Didn't have elemental materia 2 yet, still had 400 AP to get to level 2, but the halved damage also helped.
I just came back to this game and trying to clear all the remaining trophies. I hated what's FF is becoming with all this action oriented battle. This fight isn't helping. I can't imagine the hell I'm about to go through for the Chadley VR.
I am really struggling with this. I put 120 hours into this game, I watched the credits roll, and this is the only quest I haven't completed. Aerith is just the worst. I'll go so far as to say that... ....Spoilers..... I'm glad they killed her again. I NEVER had her in my party in Remake or Rebirth. She's just too slow to be useful in pretty much any combat situation.

Hopefully this helped lol. I understand though, Aerith is my least used party member but she can be decent with the right set up lol.

only works if the bombs dont start running at you and walk thru the shield
You could always try a first strike materia so that you spawn with an atb slot? I found that when I spawned the shield the bomb wouldn’t pass it lol.
I just gave aerith the shiva summon for when I staggered one

Combine elemental and fire
Cast regen(its a pain)
Run in circles
Atb gauge fills up use Blizzaga or aerora
Rinse and repeat
Figuring out that the fireballs won't hit you if you more or less just run in circles helped me so much for this fight
