Braving Wild Whitewater Rapids to Experience a Remote Canadian River - Four Days of Backcountry Adventure. Conquer Rapids & Embrace the Wild
I recently spent four days canoeing and camping on the Lower Magnetawan River with my brother ‪@TheRealTedBaird‬ ‪@XanderBudnick‬ and his brother ‪@maximbudnick‬ We accessed the river for whitewater thrills, beautiful waterfalls (that need to be portaged) fishing, and beautiful canyon scenery, but found that the mystique of the river's lasting remoteness due to no road access and little development conveyed a nostalgic feeling through a true sense of older, and wilder times, despite the river's location in Ontario, Canada south of the French River. It seems that the challenges rapids present and the frustration mosquitos and blackflies create help to keep away the crowds.
