In 1999 in China there was a horrible cabel-car accident. 14 people in those cable-cars fell to their death... One mother and father however managed to get their two year old son to the rescuepersonal. But they didn't make it themseves..
The song is a tribute to the parents and their ultimate sacrifyse - save their boy at the price of their own lives..

I think that when Dimash did this concert he still did not know Igor Krutoy and this song was written by a Chinese composer. She talks about the last sacrifice of parents to save their baby. They died in a cable car accident, but before they did they saved their baby. The composer adopted the boy and wrote this song to commemorate her act of self-sacrificing parental love.

Dimash himself is always actively involved in the arrangement of his songs with Erlan Bekchurin who is his friend and collaborator of many years. Erlan is pretty much involved with everything Dimash does.
Next OLIMPICO or ACROSS ENDLESS DIMENSIONS. If you want you can watch his latest AVE MARIA. Just never use fan cam versions, as the quality is awful. Can't wait... You'll see Dimash's abilities are absolutely insanity. He love to mix all genres and all instruments in each song. He makes wild arrangements and at the end, in combination with his impeccable crazy voice, it becomes the most beautiful thing you ever heard. You have to check his cover of Lionel Richie's HELLO. This song was the very first Chinese song Dimash heard when he was 10 yrs old. He was very moved by the lyrics written and composed by Han Hong, a famous Chinese songwriter and composer. Dimash chose this song to sing in the Singer competition in 2017 but had lost his voice and had to have steroid shots to get the swelling down in order to sing this song. He did a beautiful job but not as energetic as he sang it at his Bastau concert.
There was a cable car accident with too many people which caused it to fall into a gorge below and killed many. A young couple with a 2 yr old lifted the child above their heads while the car fell and were killed on impact. The child survived. Han Hong was so moved by the story of the couple's sacrifice, she wrote Daybreak as the story told from the viewpoint of the child and then adopted the child. Dimash sings this song with his heart and soul with all the pathos and anguish of the child telling the story of the accident and remembering his parents. Made me cry the first time I heard it and I didn't even know the backstory at the time. If you click on the CC button, you can read the lyrics as he sings the song. Makes all the difference in how he performs the song.
Wow thx for sharing, I hadn’t heard the part about it having extra meaning for Dimash from his 10yr old self. Makes it even more special. The man is clearly a savant (I’ve known a few).. I’ve caught a few examples of him randomly singing along to a performer or song playing- knowing the words to “obscure” songs I haven’t heard from different parts of the world, even country songs from US I as an American didn’t know. He lives & breathes a love for music, I think he feels & hears it all the time inside of him.

Dimash sang this on I am singer. He had no voice, the morning of the event and had to get injections in his throat to help him get through it, if you look at Gloria Wu’s channel, she gives the whole back story and shows Dimash getting treatment and the doctor telling him ‘no high notes’.

at the Barclay Center in New York City, 2019
this arena has about twenty thousand seats
they were all taken, plus there were people standing everywhere, in every empty space,
it was sold out, this concert sold out in just a few minutes.
I have been to a few incredible concerts,
his concert was just
"WOW AND WOW"
there were waves of electricity throughout the entire stadium,
When Dimash sang,
his presence and performance was so powerful, the stadium
holding about twenty thousand people just
stopped talking along with anything else we might have been doing
The only sound in the Barclay Center was
Dimash,his band and his back up singers,
All of our focus was on Dimash, he was just
phenomenal,I never
saw anything like this,
it was unbelievable.
All of a sudden I felt
this zap throughout my
entire body and into my soul, sort of like the zap or shock you get from static, this happened every few minutes all night long, it was so strange,
I never felt anything like this before nor after his concert.
I really hope that you will get a chance to see
Dimashs live concert
because it will be one of the best experiences

Oh forgot to mention that Han Hong was at the Bastau concert in the audience as she had become friends with Dimash in China. She loved the way Dimash performed the song in such a heartfelt manner.

It was so evident that the audience was politely listening to each of the guests (2 or 3 if I remember correctly) and just wanted to see and hear Dimash.

I’m always a little disappointed when reactors watch this version without watching the Gloria Wu video first (for the story and Di’s dedication) and likewise, when they watch that version without watching this one after (for the healthy vocals). The two should always go hand-in-hand.

FYI - Dimash is a Kazakh, 6’3” tall and 27 years old. As you know, he’s an amazing singer/performer. He’s also a composer, skilled musician and has dabbled as an actor and model. He sings across most genres and languages, including Kazakh and Russian (in which he is fluent), English, Chinese and Italian. He is the total package, a true artist and lives and breathes music. He gained global fame from his appearance on a Chinese singing competition I Am Singer 2017 when he was 22 years old with his performance of SOS, winning the episode and an army of fans. He finished second in the competition.
His YT channel is a treasure trove of songs, MV’s, full concerts and interviews. His latest releases in the last week or so, including Stranger which you’ve reacted to are Fly Away (dance beat) and Ave Maria (a blow your mind with his beautiful voice performance).

This song is about an actual event and it is extremely moving and heartbreaking. I couldn't tell if you had your subtitles on if not you really should read the lyrics to this song and it will give it much more meaning and of course he sang it with all the appropriate emotion.

Easily stands toe to toe with the likes of Mariah Celine and Whitney!! Her songs are You Raised Me Up, Bridge Over Troubled Water, and she gives Whitney the respect and her due, and then goes ahead and makes I HAVE NOTHING her own. So Hyang and Dimash are "EARTH ANGELS"!!! Absolutely no question about it!! Just one of her songs will prove it!! La historia de la cancion es muy conmovedora. El 3 de octubre de 1999, en China, una pareja y su hijo de dos años y medio, montaron en un Teleferico para visitar una bella montaña. Ese dia, el teleferico iba sobracargado, de 12 pasajeros que debia trasladar, montaron 36. Al regreso del viaje, el teleferico se comenzo a zarandearse y se precipito por la ladera de la montaña. Estos padres sostuvieron en alto a su hijo y antes de caer, lo lanzaron lejos para que no quedara atrapado entre los restos del teleferico. Ellos dos murieron junto con 12 personas mas, pero su hijo se salvo y fue trasladado a un orfanato. La cantante y compositora China Han Hong, conocio la historia, escribio la cancion, y ese mismo año, fue al orfanato y adopto al niño. Dimash oyo la cancion por primera vez a la edad de 10 años y quedo muy conmovido. En el Concurso The Singer en el 2017, que se celebra en China y al que fue invitado, él canto por primera vez esa cancion

It’s absolutely insane that at this point this man gives me full body goosebumps before he even starts singing, knowing what’s coming. This song is even more impactful when u hear the backstory & the lyrics. My only note about your lovely reactions- in my opinion if u ever pause without *always backing up a bit when u replay.. u will inevitably miss some of the beauty in transitions, etc. Sometimes it’s the slightest pause, transitions from dark to light, exhilarating to soft, that get diluted when u pause & just start back (which sometimes u do & sometimes u don’t).. sort of like a momentary pause on a roller coaster, it does change the impact for u. Just my opinion & u do what works for u though! Take care & thank u for another great reaction :)

Please read what Rose-Marie below my comments said about this performance. The story behind this true life accident is tear jerking. It makes the song so meaningful. The first time I saw you react to Dimash, I didn't think you seemed impressed with him. I'm glad you kept going, because now, you are officially a Dear
Dimash has a lot to do with the arrangement. Watching behind the scenes of “the singer” that blew him into global stardom he was unhappy with the arrangement of the infamous song “sos” he redid it. As for this performance. There are interesting things about this song. First, it’s a true story about a child saved by his parents. Dimash takes on the role as the boy. His belts are the cries. The other reason is it was performed by dimash on the show, but he lost his voice prior to the performance. He plowed through it anyway. His performance has the backstory to the song. Dimash loves songs that have meaning as well as poems. Good luck on your journey.
Dimash said in an interview that he was ten when he first heard this song, and was reduced to tears. I can't imagine hearing this story at that age - a child's greatest fear. Sorry if I'm repeating what others have said... I scanned and didn't see this mentioned... I believe Han Hong (composer) also adopted the boy.

Dimash is not only the vocalist, Dimash is the heart and soul of everything, songs, vídeos, clothes, arrangements, he as study on the University for all that! Is sad because many people don't know the skills of Dimash beyond his amazing voice and abilities to performance!

Igor Krutoy came out of retirement to collaborate with Dimash - they are two music geniuses who weave magic. Whenever you see Igor then he has composed the music. A brilliant composer and producer.

Я-казашка, родом из города Актобе, где родился и Димаш, и очень горжусь этим. Посмотрела все Ваши реакции, Вы очень сдержанны, не показываете свои эмоции, у Вас все внутри, но по Вашим словам, чувствую, как Вы восхищены. Этим, Вы очень похожи на казахов, у нас не принято показывать эмоции и на его концертах, обычно все реагируют как-то спокойно, хотя не менее удивлены и восхищены, поверьте. Oh this is it, one of the interpretations that I liked the most, especially since it is based on a true story, the feeling that Dimash puts in it is spectacular. Besides everything he is a great interpreter. The song was written by a Chinese woman, but Dimash is always in charge of everything, everything in his performances, from the costumes to the musical arrangements.
