    I have a 2017 VFR800F RC93 and I agree that over the 6th gen the improvements are not gigantic in terms of engine performance and handling but: you have a fresh look with led headlights and mirrors, gear indicator and heated grips as standard, traction control, abs (not combined anymore), a smoother vtec transition, gorgeous rims, radial calipers, self canceling indicators.

    • @ralphwarom2514
      @ralphwarom2514 Před 4 měsíci +1

      That is a big list of improvements.

      @ralphwarom2514 I would say so, maybe minor but they are plenty. I forgot about OEM quickshifter as an option, just ordered one and can't wait to test it. These are not available anymore and I was super lucky to find one in an old stock.

    I have the same gloves, but my 2015 VFR is the Deluxe in red and Honda NA was clearing them out slashing the price down to $6950 almost half of the original MSRP. I ditched the stock pipe and replaced it with the beautiful Italian SC Project Conic slip-on. I got mine brand new in 2018 right out of a crate.

  • @spmoore3954
    @spmoore3954 Před 4 měsíci +10

    In 2017 I bought a 2014 gen 8 VFR, still in the crate, for a price that was hard to believe. I'm glad it's in my stable. The VFR is a really beautiful machine and I like that it has some lineage back to the early RCs. However, I am constantly perplexed by this machine. (For me) it occupies a strange space as either the world's laziest 600-class sportbike or the least comfortable sport tourer ever made. The lever feel from the (non ABS) front brake is exceptional, but otherwise the VFR excels only at making compromises. ...and yet mine is not for sale... Confusing.

    • @verothacamaro
      @verothacamaro Před měsícem +1

      It's exactly what you would expect from Honda. Aggressively conservative, but trying to appeal to two different types of buyers. Both their cars and bikes end up being really good at doing a lot of things right, but never excelling in any one category, other than reliability. Predictability seems to be one of their biggest value propositions.

    Got to love the VFR's and their predecessor the VF variants from the early and mid 80's I presently own a nicely restored 1984 Honda VF700F in Freddie Spencer red, white and blue. Had the same model in 750cc back in my days in the Marine Corps 87-93. Stupidly sold it when I detached from active duty. Found the 700 a few years ago and had to have it. I also own a 2013 VFR1200F Interceptor in Tuxedo Black metallic. Beautiful machine, ridiculous power and all day rideability. It is loaded where as the 84 Interceptor is very raw and requires much more of the rider. Love them both! Just bought rural property in TN and look forward to riding throughout the state. Ride safe my two wheeled brethren!

    YT algorithm brought me here. I have a 2015plate and for the riding I do, is a pretty solid choice. Yes, you can feel the weight on low speed twisties but you develop the handling of it. I agree about the foot-pegs, Id prefer them a lil bit higher and Im 5,11 but that is just a preference. The only minus for me is the seating position when riding long/longer - I sort of linger between leaning/upright and sport riding position but again with time I have found ways to overcome this without compromising safety etc and stressing my wrists as much as in the beginning. Very liable all these years overall and gosh them looks are sexy af. Ive seen in it silver too and yeh is nice but nothing beats racing red. I am in love with it really and thank you for reviewing it being kind and civil about it. I’ve seen and read reviews as if it is the Hitler of the motorbikes. Ok it’s not for everyone but being vile about it?!?! Not needed!
    Thank you again and wish you will own one Interceptor as well! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

    Honda needs to come out with a new VFR. 1100cc, gear driven cams, no VTEC, Large TFT screen, cruise control, heated grips, 165hp at the wheel. Improved suspension. I guess Honda's version of the Aprilia Tuono 1100 V4.

That being said, I've tested a Ducati Supersport 950 S, Italy's answer to the VFR800, and it was a fantastic mix of torquey sportiness with all-day comfort. Definitely more expensive and better equipped, but I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on the Ducati!

    Nice review, but to be honest I would have preferred the VFR 1200 because the opinions about this motorcycle and experiences are so different.
    Regarding the VFR 750 and 800, I still wonder what the RC24 cannot do that its successors can.
    When I owned my first VFR, an RC24 1986, there was an 800 Fi 2000 for sale, your project. During a test ride the first feeling was 'The VFR has become a touring motorcycle', gone was the sporty charm of the RC24 or RC36II that I own now, hopefully the 6 and 8 gen will do that better.

      @@HeroRR hey thanks for the suggestion😇 I have watched the original review more times then I can count😅 originally I didn’t like the centre headlight on ktm and I’m not a fan of how the Yamaha looks so it was gonna be ninja, after looking at them a 2023 ninja 400 is around 8k, 2024 ninja 500 10k and the 2024 aprilia rs 457 is 11k, however after hearing you praise the ktm so much I decided to factor it In again, and seeing as there aren’t many bikes in that cc range in my area and there is actually a ktm in a city nearby I might go for it👏 it’s a 2023 that didn’t sell last year and it’s out for 6k not used, and what I have heard in most beginner bike reviews is get a cheaper one because you are most likely gonna drop it at some point🙄 but man that aprilia is tempting after watching your tuono review🙈 I just don’t have the heart to drop it💔 I would feel so bad😭 but thanks so much for your input and your review videos🙌 they have been incredibly helpful✨ (edit* obv others rated looks and such but with YOUR rating they would have both been tied at 21 points, so considering I can get the ktm at a lower price than the ninja when price played a part in the ninjas rating I feel confident it’s the correct choice) sorry I’m just yapping to myself trying to justify buying the bike😅🙈
