A tip for people who want a more synthetic hair texture: You can try untwisting the yarn after you reroot it, and iron the hair! It gets really smooth almost like store bought dolls!
Wow, you managed to make a very, time consuming, tedious job, look fun, and using yarn, it seems MUCH faster and easier! Thank you! I have a lovely Julia doll from the late 60's, most of the wigs did not look right on her. ( hair was gone) Being a lovely African American doll, she will look great in this style. Thanks for solving this problem!
U could buy the Zendaya doll and then make and episode about the doll that looks like Zendaya and then make them bump in to each other at the store while they're wearing the same clothes. Hahaha hahaha that would be interesting!
So pretty! Great tutorial, I absolutely adore the results. The purple hairline is so realistic, love how the yarn so easily lends itself to a natural look.
Can you brush the yarn if you glue it in first? I can't re root hair, but I want the hair effect. I'm thinking of you glue it in securely enough it will be pretty strong, right? I mean, you brushed the yarn for a wig, and I like the effect it has. Could I do it with this?
Update: went to go buy me a barbie and to the craft store and it's taking me about 4 hours so far to comeplete and I still have a chunk of hair to go but it looks so nice! I think where I messed up is im putting too much yarn. And it's looking really bulky. But that's okay . I love the volume it has! Thanks for the easy tutorial!
You made that look so easy.. I recently found one of my old childhood dolls (a Daisy doll, similar to Barbie but smaller) unfortunately little me gave her a haircut. I'm planning on giving her new hair. I bought some extensions, but now I might try yarn :)
Rerooting is easy. I added hair to bald spots on my Tammy doll. I wanted to keep her as much like she came as I could. She seems happier to have a full head of hair again.
oh wow, i just stumbled on this video and was flooded with nostalgia 😭 i remember being an absolute paperboard goblin trying to make the dollhouses from your videos
+MyFroggyStuff this is seriously a really good video and all of your videos I love them so much you're such a good crafter seriously almost half of my room is a crafting room
idea for a darbie show! when they go to school a gool from the office says in this school their is going to be a new tordition of april gool day when their are of cours pranks and the charming girl sophie is she is going to prank her own sister so at home chloe is asleep on time but sophie is up late and died chloes hair. in the morning chloe relizes but dosnt get angery becauseit was april gools day so somewhat sophie was following the rules but at school everybody LOVES chloes hair and gues whos jelly that's all you can add some deaitals in between and a ending thank you so very much if you do btw im only a little girl so sorry for spelling mishaps.
I love this, and also consider crocheting a cap and adding a yarn wig cap. I crocheted dolls with this technique and I'm excited to try it on a barbie makeover, too. You hook the yarn into the cap, separate the strands, much like you did with the unicorn tail and Voila, a full head of really cool hair. I'm going to try that on my next makeover. Really enjoy your videos. They give me a lot of doll love!
I rerooted one of my dolls with yarn, I didn't think to skip some rows... however I managed to get her hair to not be super saiyan by constantly brushing it with a damp (unused) toothbrush in hot water from a coffee maker. I actually really like how her hair can poof out ghibli style.
the purple came out sooo good it suits her, if you want to try more colors or have it not as thick you can either separate the yarn strands or use cross stitching thread. i prefer the thread larger color options (sparkle thread), and can gently brush with wide tooth combs. if you want to try that out.
If you thoroughmy brush the yarn with a clean pet brush you can make it the constituency of very soft doll hair and you can root it with a doll hair re-rooting tool. It’s really nice because it’ll stay the way you pull it so you can make it look like your dolls hair is blowing in the wind or in a shampoo commercial
if you wanted to make more of a curled even afro look you could tease the yarn slightly or untwist the yarn a little bit which will give you a sort of spiral curl don't untwist it too much otherwise it will unravel. I've done this for needle felted and crochet doll hair and I gotta say it looks pretty cool. I also love the version done in this vudeo

Yeah yarn wefts lots of CZcamsrs have done that
@@cadencek3576The technique is similar to wefts, but it’s still being rooted, so technically it’s not wefts.
Also, because it's yarn, it has little more of a natural look because of the little fly aways
This is literally my favorite channel when I was 10 year old and now I'm 15!! CRAZY
same but now I'm 19, so a lot of time has passed

I love the yarn hair! I also love the idea of switching bodies for the doll head. I never thought of that before!
You should try to make an Afro using black yarn without skipping Any and cutting it short :)
yaas
+American Girl Geek And Brush it out with a slicker to get is to fluff out! Yes I've done this on plush dolls before

These two are GORGEOUS.
Need to try this! It's so cute!!!

TOTALLY WORTH THE EFFORT!
THEY LOOK AMAZING!!!
She looks like zendaya
do more yarn re roots with new dolls...EMMA WATSON!!!!!!!!!
I actually brushed out the yarn gently once I attached it, and it turned out to look super pretty, it gave it this natural wavy look.
Yes, a plastic prong dog brush to brush out the yarn first, then a metal dog brush. Hair straightener on low heat and straighten.
What do you call the doll with a bright hair color. 😁
Nikko Tsuki colordoll???????????????????
Nikko Tsuki I don't know

+xmarshmallow u don't need to be rude!
These are so much fun to watch. Her hair turned out fabulous. 😄
I fell in love with her DIY"S and her hairstyles I watch her channel every day
Her hair looks soooooo perfect
I rerooted one of my dolls with yarn, I didn't think to skip some rows... however I managed to get her hair to not be super saiyan by constantly brushing it with a damp (unused) toothbrush in hot water from a coffee maker.
I actually really like how her hair can poof out ghibli style.
Lemon Megruine is actually a professional. Every time she makes a great hair style/cut even if she makes a mistake.
the purple came out sooo good it suits her, if you want to try more colors or have it not as thick you can either separate the yarn strands or use cross stitching thread. i prefer the thread larger color options (sparkle thread), and can gently brush with wide tooth combs. if you want to try that out.

your show is so awesome, i watch it every day and try out your crafts
OMG...THE ONE WITH PURPLE HAIR IS BEAUTIFUL
The yarn hair looks so pretty, and it is really creative. I wish I could do crafts like that.
I love it! Ive always wanted a doll with dreadlocks
I’m rerooting my doll’s hair and it’s really fun!
I did the same thing to my life as a doll. It turn out great. good job love it
The doll with the purple dreads are so cool. I love it. But i love all things with fun hair colour 😂😂
I did this sort of thing when I was 10. This takes me back. :)
The first doll reminds me of Zendaya, such a beauty! Love her locks
She's sooo pretty!!!

Omg. I've been watching your videos for years and years. And this video is in the top 10 because it's sooooo creative!!!!!!
IKR! I love this channel😄😂👍🏾
I'm going to try this with my Justine Dancer (EAH) doll. I'm not a fan of her hair and I have tons of yarn!
Beautiful work, as always. If you paint the scalp the same color as the yarn, the scalp is less noticeable.
Loved the "photo shoot" at the end.😊
This is such a great idea! I plan on doing this to my Barbies that have not-so-nice hair.
I just got done doing this reroot. It was soo easy and turned out looking wonderful! Thanks for the idea and tutorial! I'll be doing this hair again!
OMG she's so pretty!!😍😍
