I'd disagree with the silk being unflatterng on bellies argument, there are multiple types of silk that are fully matte or just have a slight sheen. Silk satin might be shiny, but silk georgette doesn't have much shine yet still looks expensive and MUCH better than synthetics.
I think it also just depends what you like! Like not everyone with a bigger belly wants to disguise it, maybe someone might think it’s cute and want to emphasise it with clingy fabrics!

Depending on the height of the body-waist, and how high the emire-dress is cut, higher waists can also look great as well! As an Adb/pear I love high waited clothes since my rip area looks quite thin and my slight belly can be hidden very well 👍🏻 The dress is best when it's tapered around the rips or the waist though and not directly under the bust. But I think that really depends on how extreme the A is
