Why are sediment filters not installed before the pressure tank? I mostly have issues with sediment clogging the pressure switch, beyond that no sediment issues except maybe a clogged screen at the faucet.
If the filters are installed first and they do clog, the pressure switch wouldn’t tell the pump to turn off. The high pressure could break the filter housing or fittings.
Not with true backwash feature like Lakos. Other manufacturers with automatic ones still involve dismantling and manual cleaning the screens. Lakos reverses water direction through the screen. The other option is an expensive full size whole home system that requires power and involves a programmable self flushing media tank similar to a softner.
