My wife is 72. I am 62. We bought 2 of the Tomos 2017 Sprints. ( tan with spokes) from Tomohawk Moped ( Chris) in Los Angeles back in May 2017. I installed a platform on the back of out 27 foot RV trailer that accommodates both of them. When we go to Pismo Beach, Morro Bay, Grover Beach, or Oceano - we thoroughly enjoy riding our Mopeds throughout the various towns visiting many shops and talking to alot of people about these mopeds. I know most people think Mopeds are for the younger generation; but we got them so we could travel with them, they are light enough to haul behind our RV on a platform. We have so much fun riding them. I ordered a couple of insulated saddle bags and installed one on each of our mopeds. I also mounted a small wire basket on top of the back rack. We have fun with them and putting is now our norm. No more worrying about where to park when we are down town San Luis Obispo where traffic is thick as ants. Can fit them in anywhere - even in bicycle parking areas. Go TOMOS. In Nevada the legal-age for any 50cc bike is 14...and has been for decades! (I was 14 in '68 and got a Honda 90 'Super-Cub' from my grandparents! (the law says '50cc or no more than 3.5hp.')

I was hoping the price would be lower, but I guess its not bad considering these mopeds are not built in Asia. Its weird that the electric bicycle industry is growing but mopeds have almost faded out. Mopeds are much faster at commuting through congested cities than electric bicycles, and are cheaper. I can't believe people are willing to pay $10,000 for a Stromer electric bicycle while the popularity of mopeds has faded to the point where its hard to find a new one. Most new electric bicycles are over $3,000 and your basically paying for what amounts to: a bicycle, spool of copper wire, some magnets, a lithium battery and some electronic components attached to a circuit board. Maybe it's having to deal with 2 stroke oil and fuel, storage/parking, or maybe the noise, but maybe a large portion of people buying electric bicycles just don't know mopeds are still an option. Also when someone hears the word "moped" they think of scooters which are not mopeds at all. Even scooter dealerships misuse the word by calling theirs scooters mopeds. Mopeds are called mopeds because they have a motor and pedals. Mo is short for motor and ped is short for pedals.

@@markbarney4238 i ended up getting a whole other tomos. Ducati np longer makes parts for the old bikes. The new one is an 81 silver bullet, and it runs great!... Didn't take much to get it running, very clean ducati parts. I have been running ngk b7hs 10 spark plug and the other day one was not available so i got a champion L82C . the champion plug makes the bike 5 to 10 mph slower, now i see why they call it late to see, (l82c).
