  • Time Lapse Video sequence showing a 16m Oak Tree being felled in our back garden - Jan 2012. Work undertaken by MJC Tree Surgeons Ltd based in Southampton who were v. professional, courteous, friendly and extremely helpful - especially when it came to cutting up the logs for the many people who wanted to take them away and for cutting the many pieces for the table I plan to make in a couple of years' time (hopefully!) They left no mess and even cut away a lot of the leylandii around the tree - fantastic job! Would certainly recommend them to anyone who needs any tree works doing in the Hampshire region.
TECHNICAL: Time lapse sequence put together using a Nikon D300. Portrait mode sequence shot at 15 Sec intervals over a period of ~5hrs; Landscape mode sequence shot at 5 sec intervals over ~3hrs. Images imported into iMovie and stitched together using iMovie's shortest available setting (0.04s) and then exported as a QuickTime movie (.mov). This movie was then re-imported into iMovie and speeded up by 400% to achieve the effect, then re-exported as a QuickTime movie using the Apple Codec.

Great video. I like the way the sky goes blue when the tree is finally cut down.

That blue sky thing always happens when we've finished.
