Yes, after you get in you have to start the car to drive it. The only way I can explain it, is one is a “soft” start and then you have your actual start with the key.
AngeloidX3 So does the fob go in the ignition or is this one of those keys that as long as the key is close you can drive the car? That fob is quite long to be sticking out so far from the steering column is all I’m thinking. 🤷🏻♀️

There can be something wrong with the vehicle, low gas, doors open, something wrong with the battery, etc. one honk no start means it got the signal but something is preventing it from starting.
Hate my distant start, only allow 3 shot and then go out in the cold to reset it, every time I need it I have to go outside to start the van manual, very annoying.

Remote start works on Casey’s Dodge Grand Caravan. Casey presses the remote start button twice.
It will honk twice.Then it starts on its own.

squeezebug23 nah it works like a regular key you still have to put it in the ignition and turn it, the remote start is just to warm up the car

After you remote start it you still need to put the key fob into the ignition and turn it to the on position in order to drive the vehicle FYI. 😊
Remote start does not work. There is a check engine light.

What is the sliding switch for?
Has a emergency key to open door in case key fob wont work and you need to wait in inform vehicle for road side assistance.
It makes the driver & passenger windows roll down by sliding the switch twice.

If the doors are open it won't do it. It locks the doors first and then starts.
