@@shanniworld8310 Border collies enjoy working. If they enjoyed treats then they wouldn't have done much of that. It's all down to good training.
Amazing routine--not just one dog, but incorporating two into it. And that one laying down just waiting for its role to play.

These dogs are absolutely loving the work they do. I have owned and worked collies and heelers and you can really tell when the dogs are enjoying what they do and these dogs are loving it. Tails are up, smiles on their faces and bright eyes and chipper steps. Its so beautiful to see such smart dogs enjoying performing.

It's actually not that hard! The channel Kikopup has a video on it. It's called "How to teach dogs to wait for their turn for training"

I don't do dog shows, but for years I have turned on Crufts just to watch this amazing lady and her beautiful dogs. This year was just out of this world.

I try to train my two cats and sometimes it works. Other times they look at me and feel sorry for me.

I had never heard of Crufts until two days ago. I'm already a huge fan! Olly won me over. Bring it to America! I'd love to spend a day watching happy pups!!!!! Anyone who claims dogs aren't mans best friend is out of his/her mind.

I agree!! BRING IT TO AMERICA! (I have a physical disability that doesn’t allow me to fly) But I absolutely LOVE to train dogs and Crufts has been such an inspiration for new ideas! I would love to see a show if I could!!

Do your research before you make unintelligent comments like that. Crufts can certainly be debated in terms of cruelty, but of all the arguments to make, this is the weakest.
these dogs are genetically driven for this kind of 'work'. Whether herding cattle or performing sports, this is not cruelty, it's a partnership and channeling of their inherent drive. Those dogs are the happiest dogs in the world.
Working dogs live to work. I agree - as happy as it comes. Imagine the outcry if Wendy above were to see what my JRTs get up to at night with the rats and the raccoons!
Yeah, Wendy, there's no cruelty involved here. I suppose you can criticize certain breeds that have been bred in a rather extreme direction, but even that's being addressed...and I believe every dog entered is evaluated by a vet and certifiably healthy.
And show-jumping horses? Really? Far as I was aware, the majority of horses are very well-treated. The circus was a whole other story, and I'm glad that Barnum & Bailey is shutting its doors at long last. That's been a long time coming.
These are the happiest dogs, all you have to do is watch all the funny fail videos on Crufts to see that failure is embraced and enjoyed, they don't punish the dogs. Look at the dogs body language and tell me it's unhappy, it's having a whale of a time. Like they said, getting a border collie (or any dog, particularly intelligent working dogs) and not training them is the cruelty. Without mental stimulation these dogs are bored and miserable which leads to misbehaving, for which did get punished. That's the cruelty. These are healthy, well trained, happy dogs doing what they love.

These dogs are so happy to do this routine, its what they are bred to do, have a job, the look I see here is the same as sheep dogs at work, tails wagging, thrilled to be there doing a job

These dogs are NOT abused into submission.
If you want to see dogs beaten into submission for the thrill of the owner, look up Augusto Deoliveira and his supposed "obedient dogs" walking without a leash. Their tails are down, there's no light in their eyes, the dogs' body language says they know if they misbehave they'll be beaten (there is also alot of evidence presented online about how he "trains" his dogs).
It is easy to compare the dogs there to these collies and immediately tell which ones are trained by force and which ones are not. Like how most people can tell with young children from abusive homes.

You can tell these dogs are treated well, wanting to please.
If a dog is well treated they love pleasing their owners.
I've only had Yorkies but the more love I've shown them the more they love and want to obey.

These are love and treat trained dogs. It is easy to see her pockets and her dogs are happy. My dog is off leash most times and on voice and hand command. She listens real well, but will not do tricks because her human is not trained to bring her to the next level.

I just have to say that the thumbs down people that say this is mean does not know border collies at all. This is the sort of thing they love to do. What do you think herding sheep is. An elaborate dance with a bunch of sheep in your way. I would bet NONE of these people have ever seen them herd
