Without a doubt after listening to metal music for 50 years I have come to the conclusion that Avatar is one of if not the best metal band on the planet... They are absolutely incredible!!!
It's a tragedy how underrated they are. Their songwriting skills are off the charts. Their instrument skills are off the charts. Johannes voice was born for this type of music, Henrik is incredible, coming up with some amazing riffs that have dictated the direction of some of the songs'. Tim and the king are tremendously talented, unique, true Riffmasters and Solo killers. I'd put John right up there with Lombardo and Hoglan, in short, Avatar are the balls. Since Black Waltz they have been creating some phenomenal music that is all their own.... Colossal Metal.
Hm, I personally was a little surprised about how he was at times being flat (especially during "regret") , pressing to reach some high notes. 😕🤷♂️ I fear years of 100% effort Performances are slowly getting to him. :( But maybe that was just a "bad day". Everyone has some.
Usually he can’t pull off the high notes on house of eternal hunt because of how much strain on his voice it is but I noticed he did them pretty well here. I’d say the first show his vocals were much shakier especially on scream until you wake* and colossus.
@@lukecomiskey6058 yeah, youre right on that one. In Contrast to the Last concert it was better. I just hope he doesn't strain his voice to much, in the future. It will be getting more difficult to scream as hardcore as Johannes and also sing with a wide range, the older one gets.
In Russia, at the concert in St. Petersburg, the hall was also small, for 800 people. It was full, but such a group is certainly worthy of much larger concert halls. And the show then turned out great, it was the best concert of heavy music that I have seen in my entire life!.. )))
@@TheIceTrey Spotify is probably not the best indicator for this, especially since Apple Music is getting bigger every month and the metal genre has most likely the most audiophiles (along with classical music) who will either use TIDAL or go out of their way to buy CDs if not vinyl.
These guys are one of the best metal bands around at the moment. Have been for awhile to be honest. Absolutely Flawless live too. Henrik is one of my favourite bass players.
Avatar is the best band to come out of the 21st century, followed closely by Ghost, all IMO. Johannes is an absolute beast of a vocalist, and an incredible showman. The band's performance is always top notch. These are some seriously talented musicians and I love them. Simply the best.
I finally got the chance to see Avatar live back in May and that show has not left my mind since. Easily one of the most fun and entertaining live shows I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. All 5 of them are extremely talented musicians and Johannes is one of the best frontmen I've ever seen. They have definitely climbed the list as one of my favorite bands both live and musically 💜
The setup for this show (and the rest) is perfect for them to create a "chose your own setlist concert" experience. Since they change scenes between (almost) every song and will play almost all their songs during the 4 concerts, it would be the perfect opportunity!
One of the best metal songs ever made. This song has everything from an 80s metal sound to new chord metal. Avatar is so underrated and I wish more people knew about this band.

It is an improvement over most live performances online (any band) but it still doesn't compare to what it sounds like in person. The overly powerful bass, the distortion, being able to "feel" the music, etc.

house of eternal hunt is the best song from avatar, it melts classic, metal hamonies and an beat, which is right on the edge of unique and clichee, so all fits at its best, more of this
One thing I love about these guys is that they are real musicians. Live, studio, whatever, they work together to make a balance between all instruments. John on drums doesn't overpower and acts as a support role which is hard to find (I feel a lot of drummers overpower). Johannes allows Jonas, Henrik and Tim to show off their skills in all shows. They way they interact! It really reminds me of being in orchestra and having a well balanced performance between brass, strings and woodwinds (Metal is most closely structured to classical music) and these guys have fun, you can see their enjoyment! Fantastic band and fantastic performance.
If not just pay youtube for the downloadable videos in hd.. Cool to see johannes play the piano, don't know how good he his, for a minute or so I thought he was going do a Lady Gaga like piano session..
Do you get access to the live streams once it's over? I didn't buy tickets because I wasn't sure if I'd be able to watch it if I missed the live performance. Far out I'm jealous though, I love feather and flesh, would have been so good
Every note they play, somehow hits me deep down inside (most of the time i tear up), too much emotions in their music. In my humble opinion, if you enjoy going to dark places with a glimmer of hope at the end, then look no further. + Entertaining, very tight performances and their enormous presence on stage is unmatched (of course my opinion)

In the current year, AVATAR is the Greatest band in the world. They are also already one of the Greatest bands ever.. touring and living on stage with Iron Maiden is just one example 😃
Literally everything about this show is awesome. The musicial performance is superb, the sound is beyond awesome for a live stream show, but also the stage, lightning, costumes and everything around it. I absolutely love the slow part starting at 7:21 with Johannes standing in that blue light with his make up, his dazzling suit and his hat on..this guy already has such a huge stage presence but those smaller details make it so much more amazing. Everyone in and around this band deserves so much credit for creating this awesome experience: Obviously the band itself, but also the people in the background: technicians, sound engineers, lightning crew, camera guys, make up artisits and everyone else working on this show! Huge shoutout to these guys!
Last january, Avatar managed to break live shows for everyone... They gave one of the tightest, most entertaining and most energetic performance i've ever seen... with NO CROWD. The bar is unatainably high now... They've set it so no other band but themselves can break it.

The drums are insane and the rest of the music as well. I hope to see them live, cause they've became one of my top 3 bands, swedish bands, as a matter of fact.

I feel he did well for the set up. The set up is hard to hit anything and they all did so well i was happy with all shows and still watch to this day
