- Come with us on a virtual walking tour and discover the busy old town of Palermo, the capital of Sicily, during a warm summerday in July. You will see a lot of locals on packed markets, tourists around shopping streets, historic sights and people in restaurants. Thereby you will get an overview over the stunning architecture and atmosphere of this beautiful city!
The tour took place in the historic center. We started at the famous market "ballaró" to the Cathedral of Palermo. We walked around the crowded main roads around the plaza "Quattro Canti". Thereafter we meandered through another interesting market called "Marcato del Capo". We ended the walking tour at the lively and colorful food market "Mercato Vucciria".

Sicily ...hmmm...🙉🙉🙉
I've never been to Italy but I would love to live in Palermo. My step-granny is from Enna in the middle of Sicily but I like the ocean and would prefer somewhere coastal. Gran-Brienza taught me how to cook the real Italian way over the course of 25 years until she passed in 2005 which kind of ruined most experiences at restaurants claiming to be Italian and I never eat at places like Pizza Hut. Why bother when you can cook like a real Italian?
Also, swordfish head curry, that's what popped into my head when I saw the severed head in the market. I had it once but tbf I don't remember if I liked it, the balut sticks out more and that made me throw up so I equate fish heads with a bad experience.
We have been in amazing real and authentic Italian restaurants in Palermo. So if you have the opportunity, visit Palermo and enjoy the food. Maybe it can compete with the food from your step-granny ;)
@@goexplore2000 I would love to take a whole summer, 4 months, and take a culinary tour around the Mediterranean from Portugal to Greece with at least 3 weeks in Italy. I think if I go to Sicily I might not want to leave.

Io vivo a Palermo, Palermo è bella naturalmente parlando ma la maggior parte dei palermitani ha poco rispetto verso il prossimo, ovviamente tutto il mondo è paese ma qui in particolar modo
Ci stanno troppe bestie, troppi animali a due gambe, con tutto il rispetto per gli animali! C'è troppa gente supponente, boriosa e piena di sè che crede di essere al centro del mondo a cui tutto è permesso e dovuto in barba ai diritti degli altri mettendo al primo posto l'onore della propria famiglia e se poi vanno a rubare o a sparare per mantenerla tutto passa in secondo piano come fosse un incfortunio sul lavoro.

Poi c'è da dire che abbiamo un'amministrazione che di fronte a tali idioti fa una giustizia...! Vabbè, d'altronde, cosa c'è da aspettarsi da loro, che trovano la città sporca e sporca la lasciano, che svuotano i cassonetti dell'immondizia una volta ogni morte di papa e i cui spazzini... Ci sono gli spazzini?
Comunque Palermo è da visitare, nonostante i suoi disagi. È una città unica che abbraccia tante culture e offre un'infinità di meraviglie.
