      I will just say that you have to use your intellect to think about these matters. If there is a general rule, it doesn't mean that it applies to everyone equally. This is a basic concept most people with intellect understand very easily. In other words, there may be some women who are more wise than many men. But that won't negate the general principle if there is a general principle that women are weaker in intellect. And I say this without saying that I know for sure what is meant in the Hadith as I have not studied this Hadith, I am not a scholar, nor have I heard from scholars about the understanding of the Hadith except a little. The problem is the general populace is very weak in intellect in general these days, both men and women, and so you see very foolish comments on social media with no adab/manners. You cannot become wise without adab because pride is then blocking your way.

    I am a Muslim woman and this is the most demeaning interpretation and explanation.
    You do realise that so many men don't pray, many men don't fast. You describe women as the more emotional sex which is so stereotypical. When it is men that start global wars, destroy the environment, rape women as a weapon, commit domestic abuse against women, abuse children- no they are not seen as emotional at all.
    Women have a long standing history of being jurists and lawyers. We also hold prominent positions in political cabinets and presidential/priministerial positions.
    I honour my message to the millions of women who have fought and died in the name of emancipation from male oppression such as this video.

      @@crestfire8008 no we don't believe in gender equality we believe in gender justice. Men and women have complementary roles .The man has a degree over women in terms of financial responsibility he is the provider of the house and the leader of the house as in the final decision will be his. The women guards the house and is responsible for cooking ٫ cleaning۔ All of her expenses are borne by the husband۔
      When the women becomes a mother her status increases she has 3 times more right over her children than the father.
      In marriage the man is supposed to give mahr mostly money to the women. The women gets her inheritance from her father , mahr from her husband and if she wants to earn money she can but the household comes first. If her going out and working is imbalacing her household responsibilities then she has to leave her job.
      In Islam men can marry upto four wives and can also marry pious Christan and Jewish women.
      Where as a women marries a muslim man only and only one at a time.
      The wisdom behind is that usually when a women goes into the other family she has to adopt the values of the others .
      Regarding polygamy , it is a genius way of protecting women ٫ men die in wars ٫ men dies in building high rise buildings etc i.e the mortality rate of men is greater and women and also the birth rate of women is higher so it makes sense for 1 capable man(not all ) to provide for many women including divorcees with children who no one wants to marry.
      Gender equality is a myth as men and women are different in physical strength, physiological make up, psychology, emotionally.
      And thus justice needed to be done to give rights to men that he deserves and rights to women that she deserves.

    Let's examine the logic. What is Worship? To do things or refrain from things according to Order of Allah, is this correct? Why do Muslim women NOT pray or fast during menstruation? do they all suddenly lose interest in worship for those days? NO. They do not pray or fast BECAUSE they follow the commands of Islam. This by very definition is WORSHIP. You CANNOT tell them not to fast and then turn around and blame them for not fasting.

    • @themansami
      @themansami Před 5 lety +19

      Clearly you didn't understand any of it. The deficiency doesn't mean that they are sinning for leaving it off, rather they're actually rewarded for the deeds that they would normally do if they weren't menstruating. That, however, doesn't change the fact that it is a deficiency as not praying or fasting for several days has many other implications and effects on their religious commitment. Besides, if the messenger of your Lord said its a deficiency who are you to say otherwise?

    • @gabrielh2505
      @gabrielh2505 Před 5 lety +24

      No, you clearly did not understand the context. The hadith comes from the question posed by women to the prophet as to WHY most inhabitants of hell were women. His response was that it was because they were deficient so it actually does blame them for it. Maybe read more.

      Hey Gabriel
      I found the answer to this question some time ago.
      The whole hadith questioned me, and in some cases made no sense, and I had the same doubt as you before.
      Here it is. (I lost my trusted hadith website for some reason, but anywho) abuaminaelias.com/does-islam-teach-that-women-are-inferior-or-deficient-in-religion-reason-and-testimony/
      The Prophet of Islam does not actually blame women for "Not praying" or "not fasting".
      If you read the whole hadith carefully, you will note "Not grateful".
      In fact, many books stack this hadith under the "Wives" section for this reason.
      What the true meaning in "deficiency" is her 'Obligation to'.
      A woman, unlike a man, is not obligated to spend on her husband and others' livelihood. further, unlike men, women do not need to fast nor pray every day.
      Even though this burden is reduced *(deficient)*, women sin more often (backbite, ungratefulness, and curse).
      This hadith goes hand in hand with Inheritance. A woman's financial obligations are far fewer to none to a man's, thus, she should not have the right to inherit that of what is equal to a man, for whom that money is more useful for.
      This might confuse a bit, and may make you not want to trust me or doubt me.
      Understandable mate. Arabic is a very difficult language to translate from. French for example uses "Madam" and "Mademoiselle" for different age groups, yet direct translation would be "Ma'am" which is general use for all genders.
      Arabic being like Hebrew, and Aramaic makes it even worse.

    This is wrong. You’re taking the Hadith out of context bro. You do realize that Aisha, prophet Muhammad (PBUH) wife, has given us over 2000 Hadiths alone. Aisha didn’t need 2 women to verify these hadiths. You gotta remember to take in EVERYTHING when coming to a conclusion, and not cherry pick which is taking things out of context.

    @nasarma Před 3 lety +11

    This explanation is seriously lacking. Firstly in Hanafi madhab women can be imam to other women. Witnessing of women is referring to certain matters, its not universal. This narrative of a woman being intellectually deficient needs to stop. Its clear he doesn't understand the nuances of the Arabic language. This does not mean a woman is not as smart as a man. Both men and women are equal in the ability to process information. It refers to rationality, not intellect. Women who are less rational are still able to manipulate men who are supposed to be dominant....this is a compliment for women. People that don't understand should not be making videos to misguide and confuse people.

Islam is the fastest growing religion today, and it shall stay like that. As a matter of fact Hindus in India are persecuting Muslims as we speak. No religious group is being marginalized and mediatized in a negative way as much as Islam is. As far as the "Spread by the Sword" narrative is concerned, it's like I said. In Islam, in order to pray, you must have wudu (complete ablution). Ablution can not be completed if a handful or more of bodily fluid leaves the body, whether that be sick, an open wound.etc. When women menstruate, women are consistently bleeding, which is why you cannot have complete wudu, which is why you cannot pray.

    Being held accountable for beliefs, sayings, and actions doesn't make a religion right or truthful. Denying accountability certainly doesn't make said beliefs right. That's the same argument that all religions make. Every religion has contradictions in their writings and beliefs. And every religion will chose one part of the scriptures to promote certain cultural and societal beliefs. You used the prophet's words about women not being found deficient in intellect, but then use restrictions to perform activities during menstruation as a sign of deficiency in ability, and decision making. That is a clear example of using the prophet's words in a way that is contradictory. The example of menstruation has nothing to do with level of intellect. You just argued against your prophet. People aren't attacking the belief in Islam, they are challenging the misinformation and misunderstanding that is being used to propagate an unjust system that even your religion teaches against. Christianity, Judaism, and other religions do the same thing, and people challenge them as well. So you can't use being challenged on your beliefs as a litmus test for being on the right path, bc that would mean that all the other religions are right as well. I actually think the prophet had great respect for women and believed in their capabilities. He also wanted them to be protected from brutality and disrespect that is often seen in all societies. Thank God for science, we understand menstruation and a lot of other things better today, and we know that menstruation is not unclean or causing deficiency. Let's follow truth, not ignorance.
