- Several people of asked about the pod or outboard bracket whatever you like to call it so I thought I’d make a video and answer some questions if you have anymore please hit me up and I’ll be happy to answer them

Beautiful work nice pod I've got the same boat Im starting a resto on this spring still haven't decided on a pod or swapping in a small diesel inboard leaning towards diesel just because I can get it cheaper and install it myself for less than a pod and outboard
Yea doing a full gut and rebuild with the pod is not for the faint of heart. I also removed the step down into the wheelhouse Hence the need to raise the roof some.
How much did it coast to have it fabricated?

I’m building the exact same boat and I am at the stage of either building a pod or having one built I’m curious how long ago you had yours built how long was the waiting list and how long did it take? It looks like great work. I also live on Vancouver Island, and taking my boat to Coombs could be an option.
I put the order in for the pod with E&D in April and It was done by Aug 10th that was in 2021. They did very nice work. Owner is a bit of a stick in the mud but the guy doing the welding was friendly and always helpful.

Is it stepped or an extension of the hull? Did you test run it? :)
It is an extension. I have not run it yet as I am still working on the rebuild the weather has not been great for over a month due to high humidity so can’t do any glass work. The company that made this pod has made dozens of them for this hull as they are a very popular and well respected brand here is BC. So i know the pod will perform well.
If it were an aluminium boat would you need the bolts through or would welding direct to the boat be strong enough?
You would do a direct weld as you could weld bracing inside the pod that would also be welded too the hull.
How high above your hull is the swim grid (or flat part of the pod) is it set up for a 20 or 25 shaft??
If I run a single it would have to be a 30” shaft and twins would be 25”.
