- This is a timelapsed demonstration on how to create an abstract acrylic painting on gallery stretched canvas using a catalyst wedge and a flat brush.
Adjust the settings on the video to watch a slower version and to gain a better understanding of my technique.
Tools:
Soft body acrylic paint
Flat brush (medium)
Silicone catalyst wedge (M-06)

Beautiful! Looks like a fluorite crystal!
Thank you for sharing your technique, it’s beautiful!!
Can you please do an instructional video on how you curve and navigate the wedge ? Thank you!
So fun to watch. Thank you for doing this.
Beautiful as always!
So good to watch it come together , clever stuff 👀🇬🇧👏
So incredible. Thanks for sharing your technique! I've been looking for new techniques to experiment on. So interesting your work!
Love your work, I will be doing this soon. Thanks for sharing.
I have never seen this before...Awesome!
So nice love your work❤
Just love this...so much..
I'm interested in abstraction techniques.^^The colors overlap and a pretty texture comes out!! It's really cool!!
You manipulate the colors in such beautiful unique way
It’s inspiring
Thank you so much! :)
Deslumbrante trabalho. Que grande habilidade com a paleta!!!!!!!!!! muito bom!
She should call herself The Wedge Master. Beautiful painting
Haha thank you!
Court Senior ART - lol your welcome . You earned the title
Your art work is amazing. I'm so fascinated by your style, brush strokes, and how you use the wedge.
Thank you so much!
This is a beautiful technique.
Thank you!
Beautiful work, thank you for the inspiration 🙌 Due to my impatient nature and wanting to give this a go, I used the silicone part of a baking spatula. I have to say it worked rather well until I can buy a catalyst Wedge. 💕
Beautiful 👍
Beautiful
Bravo!
j'adore bravo
Super!!!!😀😀😀😀
It’s beautiful! What is in your spray bottle? The one you use on the other videos
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻super top
What colors did you use?
Waaww suoeeeer 🖐️🥀🌺
Love it though♥️
Love your art! Are some of the paints transparent and if not what makes them layer so thin?
Deborah Narendorf - I like to use fluid paint :)
Love your very different style of painting. The end result is lovely! May I ask what is a catalyst wedge and where is it sold?
Thank you! You can order them online from Catalyst - that is the brand name :)
beautiful work, but may I ask if you dry totally before adding new Colors and do you add water or anything else, Thanks a lot for your
collaboration...and answer.
Micheline Larin I don’t let the layers dry intentionally - I am always spritzing the canvas with water :)
So beautiful! This painting makes me think of a pile of sheer silk scarves. Do you let the paint dry between layers on purpose or does it just dry quickly because it’s acrylic paint?
lemniscate44 i don’t purposely let the paint dry. I am constantly spritizing with water but it depends on the effect I am going for :)
I love your work! It's so unique. What brand of paint do you use?
iwill avenge it varies, but usually Golden and Windsor Newton
Do you dry between paint layers?
Gostaria de saber que cores você usou. Seu trabalho é lindo.
Hello
I just discovered your videos, it's beautiful this fluidity and transparency, you want to try to paint! smile...
what brands of paints do you use? Fluid paintings already I think but do you have preferences?
in any case thank you for all your sharing, you are magic !!
Thank you so much! I use Golden Fluid acrylics only. :)
DO you use medium or glaze to extend the flow? I've tried wet on wet and or I put too much paint because colours are mixing. Thank you for sharing
Gabriela Megan I use fluid acrylics only and no medium :)
Bardzo ładne bardzo mi się podoba
What’s the indigo colour you used here please?
Can’t wait for your next video! This is fantastic! Do you wait in between to add another color?
Barb Templin thank you! No, I don’t wait, but some areas dry more quickly as the paint is so thin :)
Court Senior ART what are you using to thin the paint out?
Is that plain water you spray?
The final still shot of this one shows it on a brick wall at a much larger size. Do you actually paint them smaller then sell as prints in a larger size, like the one on the wall, or is that just a mock up to show how it would look larger?
At the time, I was selling prints at that size, but sadly I don't do this anymore.
Stunning very clever 😍😍
May i ask Do you use the paints straight out of the tube or mix with water?
susan kelly thank you! I use them straight out of the bottle - but they are fluid acrylics :)
Hi do you mix with acrylics pouring medium or something
I don’t use any medium :)
Un saludo ,me gusta su trabajo bastante,, pero a vezes la luz no ayuda mucho con la sombra (si puedes arreglarlo gracias)
👌😍😍❤️❤️❤️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
🇰🇷👍👍👍

구독눌렀구요
앞으로도 좋은작품 많이 기대합니다..^^
사랑하고 축복합니다~~!!💓💕💕
Does anyone know where I might be able to find a catalyst wedge with a longer edge on it? Like a foot wide instead of the size she's using here?
Fantastica
Blick art
lindo
How can it possible without silicon brush. I don't have silicon brush ... I hope you will reply ^_^ I am really like your work
thank you ❤
Are spraying water on the canvas?
Yes, I often have a spray bottle handy :)
You can do the same thing with a putty knife
Could you please do a tutorial video? Pretty please?
Still too fast though and sometimes it seems like little parts of it disappear..maybe it's my internet..but I SO wish you would do one slower because it is so hard for me to see how you are doing it. And are you using more than one catalyst wedge and a brush?
anita clark. Just tap the top right corner of the video and then tap the 3 dots. Select playback speed then choose your preferred speed. 0.5 is usually sufficient. Hope that helps.
anita clark you can adjust the settings in the video to watch slower :)
Court Senior ART ...thank you! Obviously not very smart when it comes to these things 😊
chris reynolds thank you Chris!
What is catalist wedge?
Its a piece of silicone with a straight edge. www.currys.com/catalogpc.htm?Category=PRINCETON_CATALYST_WEDGES
Dumb, to many brush strokes that were not needed
