    I am SO grateful for all the information you’ve provided. You’re the best ferret owners` friend! ❤ I’ve been researching ferret ownership and plan to buy two ferrets in the future. When I was in my mid-20s, I used to own two ferrets. One died from bowl obstruction and the other was traumatized from the death. I felt like the worst ferret owner. Now, 20 years later, I’m hoping to rekindle that ferret romance with new confidence and updated info on ferret ownership. I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into your video. Thank you! 😊

    I’ve been looking everywhere for a good website for trustable grinds for my ferret and let me tell you, My Pet Carnivore is %100 the best! I don’t have to worry about chopping up bones or neck or organs, because I’m reassured they just ground up the whole chicken! It’s also a very simple website, which I love. Definitely the most affordable and hoping to switch him to the chicken grind. Thank you so much, your video’s have really been an eye opener, because I always saw raw as time consuming and didn’t realize there were many different types that were more specific to certain environments. Thank you again so so much! I’ll update his health when he is fully switched which will be in 1-3 months.

    :00 okay now I'm definitely going to feed raw cuz I really like the raw grind! (Plus wtc its kinda cheaper than most kibbles and healthier?! why doesn't everyone do this lol)
    Question tho! How do you measure things like grinds? Like how much should a ferret eat a day? :V

    • @Pazuandfriends
      @Pazuandfriends  Před 4 lety +14

      Raw grinds are super simple and convenient! Price isn’t too bad either, depending on what your meal plan is and how many ferrets you have.
      I’d grab the whole prey grinds from My Pet Carnivore if I were you. It’s the best option for grinds that I’ve seen so far.
      Rule of thumb: females ear 1-3oz of food per day and males 2-4oz. Kits may eat more and winter time you should be offering more. For example, I measure about 4oz per day for each of my ferrets. So two meals a day at 8oz comes out to be ~16oz of meat every day. Then you can figure out how many lbs of grinds to buy. I started with about a month supply. Hope this helps!

    So if you bought the whole prey coarse grinds from my pet carnivore and say have 2oz in the morning and 2oz at night for a male ferret (or more if he eats it all) it would be perfectly balanced and no other foods required? I’ve always been intimidated by trying to balance a raw diet for my ferret and hoping I’m not doing it wrong but if all I need to buy are the grinds then I’m totally switching to raw! Thank you for this video!

    • @Pazuandfriends
      @Pazuandfriends  Před 4 lety +5

      Zalesa Yep that’s exactly how it works. You CAN however choose to feed a heavier bone in item maybe 3 times a week to help make sure your ferret gets something to gnaw on. I just do chicken wings from the store, or chicken feet you can add to the food.
      I also do one raw egg per ferret each week and I’ll do a pump of salmon oil if I’m feeling generous, lol.

    Answers straight formula has less ingredients with no goats milk. Also, check out some blends from small batch pets, that are decent. We feed raw has some blends that look like they would work, but are not labeled for cats….just some other options for people to look into.

    Oh I reached out to Vital Essentials on their doggo patties! (Because those don't have goat's milk). They told me... "45% muscle meat, 45% organ meat, and 10% bone and blood. All of the protein sources follow the exact same formula as I previously mentioned.”
    FREAKISHLY unbalanced 😬 Like.. why do they even bother? It sucks cause they're one of the few FDR patties with no veggies. It's a shaaaaaame :(
    RFM - I did reach out to them asking why they mention to supplement Alnutrin or something like that for cats, they said it was for added taurine. So when I was doing RFM grinds I was adding some extra hearts for them

    For the My Pet Carnivore can I just get the ‘Coarse Ground Whole Chicken’ for ferrets. Mind you I am planning on getting ferrets and I have never owned that kind of carnivore accept for dogs and cats and I have never fed raw. I know an animal has got to eat but I can’t chop up bones, parts of animals, or see whole animals dead let alone feeding them to my future ferrets. I will have to see if they will take raw and if they do I can’t deprive them of having raw because I’m too chicken. (Sorry for the pun.) So if I get the ‘Coarse Ground Whole Chicken’, can I feed that every day and not have to chop up m6 own meat?

    • @Pazuandfriends

    I’m really in need of info ! I’m from the UK and want to get a ferret and obviously feed raw. My only issue is I cannot read numbers well and often confuse or mix numbers up - therefore I could only really use balanced grinds - I found a website (rawpetsupplies) who do balanced grinds for ferrets but sell in 1kg packages. Does this mean I feed the whole package to the ferret in one sitting or do I spread it out over the week as 1 kg seems a lot to feed a ferret in one sitting. Again this may seem really obvious to some people but numbers really confuse me unless I have someone telling me strictly how much to give (eg medication) - thank you (: x

    For the "My Pet Carnivore" chicken one.. could I feed just the chicken on for weeks? or do i have to keep switching animals? Im just very scared i'll do this wrong.. How much should you feed baby ferrets compared to Hobs and Jills? (Adult And baby?) quick other question.. for the 5 LB. Coarse Groud Whole Chicken how many days do you think it'll last for 2-3 Ferrets? (Dont have to answer btw) I have so many questions dont feel forced to say anything! 1) Can you feed a ferret a whole beaver tail? 2) if you got a raw chicken with no added gross-ness could you just put in in a blender and blend it, would it be the same as the my pet carnivore chicken one? (Since im in canada.. and some dont ship to me, and i cant seem to find any raw brand diet that are good..)

    • @Pazuandfriends
      @Pazuandfriends  Před 4 lety +1

      You have to feed 3-4+ different proteins weekly. I feed 10-13 different animal proteins weekly. Baby ferrets can eat 4-6oz+ each. 5lbs won't last long for 2-3 ferrets. I have 5 ferrets and they eat a bit more than 1lb every day. I wouldn't feed beaver tail. You can't blend anything with bones. You wouldn't be able to make the same grinds as My Pet Carnivore unless you had entire animals with all the innards, head etc attached and a commercial grade, heavy duty large grinder. In Canada, Carnivora is a grind sold in pet stores.
