He’s so eloquent, so well read, intelligent, smooth, and he’s always on the edge of a cheeky smile. Very refreshing.

Extraordinary that you were able to bring out so much thoughtful and earnest discussion about filmmaking. Ayoade so often undercuts serious points with humor or self-deprecation during face to face interviews. I haven’t seen this kind of straightforward exposition on the topic before. Well done.

The cinematics and music are astonishing. The sound effects surrounding the character of Simon are so clever, and the dialogue has been well thought out; simple, short and crazily effective.

I hope Richard makes more films soon, even one more would be nice. I don't think I've heard any mention of him doing so though which is a shame.

In an interview he said that he would like to, but doesn’t like being away from his family for too long. Maybe when his kids are older or something comes along that he can’t say no to 😛 let’s hope he does make more movies 🤞

This guy is brilliant! Why is he not already world famous? Kate North is right. He should be arrogant and authoritative, but he shows himself to be honest, explanatory, and humbly masterful, if such a thing is possible.

The movie is so good. Depersonalization/ derealization disorder is a very real problem. I've been dealing with it for several months now, not to the extent of Jesse Eisenbergs character, but the movie is an amazing representation of it. For anyone that did not pick up on the more subtle details of the story, there is no clone, it's just like fight club. Mental illness runs in Simon's family, he was actually the one dating Hannah, and cheating on her with Melanie, and he cut his throat to get attention from Hannah. There are also parts of the movie where he is completely hallucinating, the hr scene where the man tells him he is not in the system is all in his head. I could go on for hours about all of the amazing details in the movie

I'm just here to say that The Double was a brilliant film, I can't think of anyone better than Jesse & Mia to breathe life into these characters. I have yet to read Dosto's novella but let me tell you, this man did a beautiful job adapting it. Fresh, captivating, bleak & very well executed. Well done !

I really liked the double and like one of my favorite films Pi, by Aronofsky, you have to watch it twice. I was in awe at how it was shot, how the time period is nebulous and then the controller for the copier was kind of steampunk. At first, the disjointedness reminded me a Terry Gilliam film. Richard Ayoade is definitely someone I will be watching.
