  • We're coming up on one year living in our new home which calls for a walk-through house tour! Since our home renovation is always an ongoing process, we don't wait until we consider our home "finished" to share what it looks like today! After 8 months of the interior being under construction, we really are just starting to design and decorate these spaces, and are loving every step of the journey.
See what our house looked like a year ago here:

Hi there! We love to do home tours to document our design process, and not just when we consider a house "finished." That being said, we are just getting started here! We lived in our previous home for six years and are just at our one year mark here. Our decision to move was influenced by a lot of things but first and foremost we felt we were outgrowing our previous house and we knew it wasn't our "forever home"-- now, we're in one!

This house seems MASSIVE. How many square feet is it? I was wondering if it’s partially the lens or if it’s just that big. And the dining table is most definitely the longest table I’ve seen EVER😄 I’m so torn because I absolutely love aspects but then parts feel almost spooky; like the kid’s room/area. And while it has so much character with arches, amazing windows & doors-just a ton of amazing architectural details it somehow feels like it is lacking something that I can’t put my finger on. It’s not minimalist but somehow appears flat🤔While I love seeing a home as one would walk through it, I think this one needs a room by room talking tour. Pick a room or two and focus on how it came together & how you then move through the space. Hoping you’ll turn it into a series!💖

  • @relaxingmomentsasmr149

First let me say this video popped up on my youtube and I only have a vague recollection of watching a bathroom renovation by these people, not sure who they are. So forgive my speculation. I watched this as I love house tours then saw all the comments. Yes I agree it is a huge house and I think I remember in the bathroom video they had one baby (I may be thinking of a different couple). We need to keep in mind the motivation of the owners and maybe it will all make sense. It struck me that this couple are making an “estate” not just a house. I may be way off base here but, as I am a big Agatha Christie fan, it may be that they simply want to have a big house for family (and friends?) to stay at Christmas and summer holidays. (Or am I projecting? I would love to do this.) Similar to house parties like at a country manor. If so, just add a tennis court & a mystery & a formal garden with access to country walks on the weekends and I am all in. I like the idea of it.
Now that I’ve created this whole opinion out of no knowledge, it will probably be that I have it all wrong, but wouldn’t this house be great for that?? Also, a lot of these house bloggers, it’s is their thing, doing up houses, this is just on a larger scale, it’s a fun challenge for them. I love the giant window & I love the dining room. Well done so far! I still can’t get my own medium sized house decluttered, organized, & fixed up so I admire people like them. Please give tips on getting so much accomplished.

Hi Jeenal. We believe that home is a feeling. While we have only been here for a year, and it was under serious construction for the first 8 months, we made it a home by making memories as a family, not waiting to have friends and family over, and choosing to enjoy the journey of renovation. We have done a lot in our first year, but this is not at all meant to be a "finished" house tour--we are just getting started!

Jeenal Jain not finished yet. If you followed them you’d know.

Julia and Chris are so deceitful. They literally wagged their tongues about moving to Raleigh, when in actuality their new home is in Cary, NC. Anyone who lives in Raleigh knows Cary is a different city entirely. They know this too. Why lie about something so basic?

Well, you should have stayed in the old house! ...is that the American dream? It is huge, it has no charm at all.... just huge...! I am very disappointed

Hi Marie, sorry to hear you feel "very disappointed" about our current home. We on the other hand are over-the-moon in love towards what we now call our "forever home"! We lived in our former house for a little over six years, and just reached our one year mark here. Needless to say, we are just getting started. This was not meant to be a finished house tour. This is just a progress tour of where we are today.

You are disappointed because they moved?? Thats sounds odd since it isnt your life and it doesnt effect you in anyway.
