READY IN: 2hrs 15mins
SERVES: 6
INGREDIENTS
1
1 lb ground beef or 1 lb ground turkey - I used 500g low fat mince
2 onions, diced
1 green pepper, diced
1 tablespoon jalapeno, finely chopped - I used pre sliced bottled jalapeños
1 (14 ounce) can Mexican-style tomatoes (like Rotel) - I used 1 can chopped tomatoes
2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce - didn’t use this
2 tablespoons cumin
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1⁄2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1⁄2 teaspoon paprika (smoked if you can find it)
1 (14 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed - I only used ¾ of the can
1 (14 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed - I only used ¾ of the can
1 cup water
TOPPINGS
sour cream
cheddar cheese
green onion
DIRECTIONS
In a medium Dutch oven over medium-high heat add the olive oil. Add the ground meat and cook, breaking up into pieces, until browned. Add the onions, bell pepper and jalapeno and cook until softened. Drain excess grease.
Add the tomatoes, tomato sauce, cumin, chili powder, salt, cayenne, paprika and 1 cup water. Mix to combine.
Add the kidney beans and black beans, mix and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook for 1-2 hours.
Serve with desired toppings.

Hey very lekker!. Strange accent for someone who shops at Sainsburys :) Just researching Petromax gear and chanced upon your video. Nice to hear a fellow Saffa's voice. We only arrived in the UK 6 months ago.
Great to hear from another from SA. We have been here for 21 years but the accent does not change. England in a beautiful country and although I miss Cape Town my heart is now here.ATB. Grays
Oh nice, I'd have gone with soft tacos personally, I find the crisp jobs mean more spillages lol cheers for sharing, Atb James
That’s why I am wearing the dodgy old t-shirt. ATB👍👍
