    Really sucks apple doesn't offer a 128gb option for their cheaper ipads, its one of the best options for price-storage for most people.

      I completely agree considering that this product is completely about convenience Apple should take that into consideration. In a lot of ways what they are doing is purposely making a device that is planned for being obsolete after 4-5 years so they can sell more devices.

      Oh yeah they're definitely doing that on purpose making 64 gigabytes a huge point. Basically if you're at all interested in downloading any serious amount of apps or music or movies 64 gigabytes is not enough. It's fine for like my mom but that's about it. But there is probably a 70 to 80% of the users that don't need 256 or even 128 but need more than 64.

    I’ve debated a while whether to get the 64 or the 256gb. The first few days with the Mini, I didn’t like how small everything was on the screen. However, after a week my eyes got adjusted and then I love it!
    I made a pro vs con list and honestly, the only con with the 256gb is the price $$$. I looked into external storage as well, but I knew it would be more convenient to have that storage on the iPad. In the end, I went with 256gb to avoid regret, storage anxiety and limiting my usage purely due to the lack of storage (I’ve been thru that with my old iPad). It did hurt my wallet, but I’m someone who keeps my devices for 5+ years so I think it’ll be worth it.

  • @renny_iko
    @renny_iko Před 10 měsíci +7

    My theory about the color issue: If you look at the color wheel, yellow/orange-y is the opposite of purple, which means they cancel each other out. So when you're at the studio under warmer lights, the purple is being canceled out and only the silver is showing. So much that when you took it outside under natural light, which has more of a white/blue hue (depending on the time), it shows the purple. It's not a deffect, it's just that the purple is so subtle that is being canceled out by the warmer light.

    • @STICKYArt
      @STICKYArt  Před 10 měsíci

      💯 % it’s very subtle violet purple and in regular light is more noticeable but still leaning more to silver . I still really like the color!

      I think 64 GB will work for most people with light use but having to frequently manage files and apps and removing files and apps is not very convenient for me considering how much I use it. This device is really caters to a convenience factor and I think should come standard with a 128gb

    • @STICKYArt
      @STICKYArt  Před 2 lety +6

      @OS storage has never been an issue for me before. It is really dependent on the user case. Anyone reading emails, and basic media consumption, notes 64gb should be ample! But for someone creating content or gaming in 2022 and forward 64gb will require offloading of apps and saved files at some point of the life of the device (Ave iPad user is about 4 years) management apps and file is not fun! Also having apps crash and run slow when it gets close to full is a headache too.

    I sold my iPad mini 5 in November 2020 and I regretted that, had so much fun with that device. today January 10th 2023 a little over a year after the mini 6 launched I went out and got one. Best Buy was having a sale today 100 dollars off, so it was $399.99. But I spent about 30 minutes pacing debating on which storage size to go with. my phone has 64gb and I film a lot on it and have multiple apps causing storage to always quickly fill up. So today I eventually decided to go with the 256gb model, yes it was $549.99 but still $100 less than normal. I honestly wanted more storage, and this way there's less worry about storage, and won't have regrets not paying a little more for 4x the storage space.
    Nice video!

      256gb is definitely the way to go if you plan on using a lot and for a variety of things! It is a very capable device, filling up the harddrive at 64gb is easy to do and slows down the device when it at max capacity. I bought an external HD to remedy the issue longterm but it’s still a bit more of a hassle managing files often.
      Enjoy your new mini!! 😎✌️

    Everyone who wants a small tablet is lucky. The only option for them is the mini. People who want a regular sized tablet have to choose between the iPad 9, iPad 10, iPad Air and iPad Pro 11 inch. All of the tablets except the Pro start at 64gb and the second option is 256gb. Yes 👍 the memory is main point I wanted to share! Super important info imo since no way to upgrade internal memory. Purple silver Color is not a big deal to me but it might be to Il someone else! As for performance I still love it and it handles everything I use it for! For some users the memory might be fine but for most that use it for a variety of uses will need larger memory!

    • @samjam6989

      Even for casual usaage is not enough unless you only really used if to read emails and stream youtube. Even using it for entertainment like Netflix, Disney plus or using the camera or downloading ebooks, the storage is not enough. I dont use it for productivity and only used it for ebooks and entertainment and have used up 90 gb. I download lots of apps and have couple of games on it. So even for entertainment purposes 64gb is lacking. There is a reason why most phones now come with vase storage of 128gb. Only Apple is too cheap and is giving us 64gb base storage similar to their icloud free account that only has 5 gb. Apple's strategy is they want to milk money out of their customers otherwise they would put out sufficient storage for even casual users like me. Maybe the elderly can use 64gb to check emails only and watch news on youtube and nothing else 😂

For the rest of your user case you could honestly go with basic ipad and it should last about 4-5 years based on most of apples ipads lifespans (OS support and processor compatibility) but most likely wont be able to handle next gen games and higher FPS. It's the same old story with Apple products: the company treats storage as if it were something scarce and valuable, demanding an absurd premium. This is of course nonsense (and I think most people know this), and it hasn't been true for a loooong time. Shame on them, right? The problem is, I believe, that they make the best tablets so they can get away with it. And I'm somebody who loves PCs (Windows & Linux).
    If you're like me and only have very specific, limited needs for your tablet usage (content consumption, relatively light digital art, scheduling and basic business tasks) then you'll probably be fine with the base storage. If your needs are more and require things like: many games, large digital projects (e.g., 3D art, design with a lot of layers and larger scope, video, heavy photo editing), or anything where the typical size will be many gigs per document, then you're gonna have to pony up for more storage. The workarounds simply are not worth it. Anybody who wants to use an iPad as a computer isn't probably going to choose a Mini anyhow, as it doesn't have the proper connection for dedicated keyboards and those that are available third party are, for obvious reasons, very small. (There are workarounds, but one really ought to ask themselves "why?" when the screen is this small to begin with); Anybody who does want to use any iPad as a computer would be well advised to get a LOT more storage. Though, imo, for that purpose one should just buy a real computer (and, speaking specifically to what that means to me, I'd argue to not get an Apple device).

    • @STICKYArt

      I could not agree with you more!!! It’s definitely one of apples greatest downfalls. As for trying to use a mini as a pc or desktop replacement… I think there are much better options out there, but for drawing and watching videos on the go it’s a solid option albeit a bit overpriced imo.
