My personal opinion is that taking Stroud is doing yourself a disservice. You’re drafting him basically praying he hits his ceiling, which is the only way he pays off ADP. He doesn’t run at all, and god forbid if he regresses. I’d much rather have ARich or Kyler than Stroud or Burrow. The rushing upside is too good to pass up on for them, especially Kyler. Basically every Underdog draft so far, I’ve left every draft with a combo of 2 of ARich, Kyler, and Jayden Daniels. Getting QBs who can outscore most other QBs without even having to be very proficient as passers is too good to ignore, and if any of them also have a good passing season… you have a league winner, especially Daniels who’s going like QB15-16 right now on Underdog.
Great insight with Daniels, but I’m feelin too good about Stroud this year to pass up. He’s too primed to go nuclear.. playing to his ceiling would he QB1, I don’t think it’s a reach where he’s at
Im always on team attack the mobile QBs, so not going to talk you off those guys as targets! I’ve left with some Stroud if I started off with a HOU stack. I do think they have significant weekly upside this season. Stroud had the 3rd best rookie season ever for passing yards, and he did so more efficiently than any of the other rookie breakouts. Then they added Diggs. So I don’t really see regression coming. It does also help that he’s smart with his legs. So he’s not AR or Daniels, but he could score 4-5 rushing TD’s and add maybe 10-15 yards on the ground each week. So if he throws for around 4,500 yards that’ll be enough to finish top 5. Dak was 4th and Love was 5th last season and they each only ran for 14 yds per game with 2 and 4 TDs. So just don’t completely write Stroud off
