Love your channel. I have a 2024 Grand Highlander Hybrid XLE ordered. I am 6' 2" tall and will be taking it on long road trips. I did notice, when test driving, that the driver legroom wasn't as large as I expected it to be even with the seat all the way back. Did you have any issues as a tall driver with legroom, seeing as how you are 6’ 2”+ tall?

Sadly the iihs just released thier front offset crash test and it only got an acceptable rating, for driver safety, due to head impact

I have been waiting for 2 months, they told me that the vehicle will arrive from June 13 to 19. On Saturday I will go to cancel the contract because I turned out to be stupid and signed a contract to buy a vehicle.

@ToyotaWorld, Thanks for the review. It was quite informative. Is the opening height of the liftgate adjustable?

What has your range been on a full tank? There's been lots of discussions on various forums and Facebook groups that the Grand Highlander hybrids either have a larger reserve capacity (~ 4 or 5 gal / ~ 17 to 20 L) than stated in the manual when the low fuel light comes on. Most are only able to get about 12 gal or 45 L when filling up the tank when the low fuel light comes on. This issue apparently only affects the hybrid and not gas versions.
Toyota USA has a tech tip they've issued to US dealers for how to diagnose the issue when reported but nothing from Toyota Canada yet.
Hopefully your direct experience with the GH hybrid as a manager of a Canadian dealership can hopefully help gain traction with Toyota Canada.
    Thanks for your review.

What I really don't get is why Toyota discontinued usage of the greatest 3.5L V6 engine? This engine is actually very powerful and relatively quiet as well as reliable. Adding small I4-cylinder engines, especially turbos affects performance, the engines are much noisier as well as the power utilization is much higher, which leads to much higher wear and tear. Toyota World, do you have any data on the reliability of the new engines and breakdowns from your shop? How often now is recommended for oil change intervals?

Government regulations require higher fuel economy each year. Manufacturers are pushed into changing their engine and transmissions for higher fuel economy. You'll also see hybrids replacing gas only engines in the next 10 years. Just like how the sienna gas only models were phased out.

No even a regular sunroof on the XLE trim (standard or option), what is Toyota thinking?

I noticed you have the third row backrest mat. Is that part of the all weather package or bought separately? Usually I dont see that in other's review.

I just purchased a Grand Highlander xle AWD hybrid and it did not come with a heated steering wheel. I've noticed on this and other videos that it appears the base xle includes a heated steering wheel. Is it supposed to be included in the base xle?

Depends on country and if it has the cold weather package.

Thanks for the reply and thanks for your reviews of the base model hybrid. I don't remember seeing a "cold weather package" on the Toyota configuration page. I'm guessing that the Canadian configuration is different from US. I've seen CZcams videos where the base includes the heated steering wheel and others that don't. I live in Montana so we definitely have plenty of extremely cold weather. Also, for the person that asked what I paid - I paid MSRP. I waited 3 months and had to put down a significant deposit. Also, you don't get to order specific options on your car. Toyota sends out preconfigured cars, dealer contacts you, and you can take it or leave it. Then if it's missing specific options you need the dealer will install them at their price (significantly more expensive then Toyota's). Not good. Toyota has issues but they currently make the only hybrid mid size 3 row SUV so they can get away with it.

Where do you live? I was at a dealership here in SoCal and they had a few in the lot. Our saleslady tried to sell it to us but we wanted the hybrid model. Hybrid wait times are insane
