- He campaigned to end the practice of Sati, a Hindu funeral practice in India in which a widow sacrifices herself by sitting atop her deceased husband's funeral pyre (fire).
One of his first contributions was to start schools for impoverished children where they were taught reading, writing, accounting and Christianity.
So great is william carey, a wonderful missionary....a wonderful human. We need people like you in India

That's not true. Jesus is the only Son Of God. There is only one God, The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jakob. The Bible tells the truth about life of Jesus.
Islam is the real truth on the face of earth. Therefore, a huge number
of Europeans and Africans are accepting Islam. If a christian means who
follows the teachings of Jesus Christ a Muslim is the real Christian
because in Quran the real message of Jesus Christ is , Obey the
commandments of Allah Almighty. Allah is the only God. Neither Jesus
christ nor Mary is God. They are the respectful servants of God. Quran
is the last and final message of God and Muhammad (peace be upon him) is
the last and Final messenger of God. There is no God but Allah
Almighty. All the prophets are His servants and they did never claimed
the divinity. These are the religious scholar who tempered the message
of prophets but Quran was not tempered because in all parts of the world
Quran is same and not a single minor difference in the copies. I invite
all Non-Muslims to please study Islam and Accept it to attain the
success in this world and hereafter (world after death). Please listen
