  • Here are 10 things I like about Christmas, this is day 8 of Vlogmas.
I didn't have to think too hard about what I like and enjoy about Christmas, they are mostly the simple things.

Egg Nog, hot chocolate, warm cozy sweaters,, fuzzy blankets, festive decorations, being warm inside when it's cold outside, buying gifts for the special people in my life, people being a little friendlier, behaving kindly, watching all the Xmas specials I remember from childhood, and The FOOD!!!😁

Love the holiday season aswell, everything's so lovely and lit up with lights and like you said-cozy! I spend most of my time outside despite the cool temperatures, I adore the snow, love watching the changes in the wildlife in the woods. Coyotes and foxes and deer...many types of birds, all preparing for the dead of winter after the holidays. My goat Pheobe is always super pregnant this time of year and preparing to hole up until she is due on valentines day... so many things. However I do miss the hot summery days of planting and harvesting and so forth, it's a tragic type of beauty...Anyway, thanks for sharing 💕
Oh and I listen to your mediations every afternoon and at bedtime. This year in Christmas eve will be 5 years since I found your meditation channel!!! đŸ§˜â€â™€ïž 🙏 🙏 grateful for that so much

    Love your list!!!!
Christmas time has turned into a “self-assessment” moment
Well, in fact the whole month of December. Maybe bc my birthday/ x’mas/ New Year’s Eve is a little too much for a month!
    * A time to go inwards. Hermit’s mode ON.
Here, in the southern hemisphere is almost summer, the weather is mostly “hot”!! But I do enjoy spending some time at night in the garden, doing some self talking and relaxing
.
    * This is the time for candles, lights and little fireplaces outdoors! Light: what shows us the path. Guidance.
And the very best ingredient for the season: the smell of cinnamon and spices all around the house! That’s uplifting and sets the tone for celebration 🎄
I try new things every December for Christmas 🎄 and I’m wondering what will be like this 2022😉🎄🌀Grateful and thankful for what I have. What I’ve learnt and open to good things ahead!!!

Some of the things that I enjoy the most this time of year is the smells!! Like a fresh Christmas 🎄 and evergreens. Hot chocolate and eggnog. Spice's like cinnamon, cloves and mulling spices for wine. A nice warm fireplace burning and the slight smell of smoke... A warm and cozy blanket for cuddling. When it really gets cold outside I will wear my fur coat . Nothing keeps you warmer!!
A weighted blanket will also help with a deeper sleep too Christian âŁïž Enjoy your time and God bless!! Also a good time of year for counting my blessings....

I love that it gets dark earlier and stays dark longer. I love the very cold weather and being able to dress in warm sweaters and wrap in heavy blankets. I love the lights this time of the year, both inside my home and seeing my neighbors’ homes lit up when I look outside. I love my own Christmas decorations. Mostly, I love spoiling my grandchildren even more than usual.

I think most people feel that way about all those things around the holidays. Once the fighting over Black Friday sales in the stores is over everyone seems happy at the stores even if the lines are long (don’t know if you have Black Friday sales over there but here in the states people literally punch & kick each other to get a sale itemđŸ€ŠđŸ»â€â™€ïž). I had a really good laugh over the whacking the Pringles can across the room tho cuz my nephew ate the last of my dads Pringles on thanksgiving & my dad did exactly what you did. My 77 year old dad has never done anything like that in his life. Not that I’ve seen anyway & it was quite hilarious even tho he was angry to watch him not say a word & grab his coat & keys & leave. He came back with more Pringles & wrote his name on them claiming ownership. Welllll, it just so happens my nephew is named after my dad so when dad went to bed that night & the nephew was up gaming, I’m sure you can guess what happened to those Pringles cuz they did in fact have his name on them😂😂

Sadly, I tolerate winter (and Xmas). I think I need more convincing. Ten more reasons perhaps? xx

Christmas can give me mixed feelings at times, here's my list
    1) I enjoy being on winter break but I will admit I do miss being at school and seeing my friends and teachers, I do assure myself they're having a great winter break and it won't be long until I see them again
    2) I like the snow too. Just recently us folk up north got about 8 inches of snow, last year we got more snow (it was really pretty but the icy roads were pretty scary)
3/4) I can relate to the snacks and food parts of Christmas, I always find myself trying to resist buying a snack or a soda at school during my ten minute break after my first two classes. When you mentioned the shephard pie that made me remember last year for 4 days I had to stay with some friends of my dad's and one of the things I ate was a shepard pie, it was delicious. And honestly that reminded me of a 9th grade boy named Keagan who brought a shepard pie for a science class feast thing (Sounded delicious)
    5) My comfort level was kinda low this year since I couldn't really sleep since I'd be so cold, however just a couple weeks ago I've started using this duvet and it's so comfortable and it's super warm. (Along with many layers of clothes and blankets)
    6) Sleeping is a guilty pleasure of mine during winter, I've tried taking a 30 minute nap but if I take it at 4 o'clock I'd wake up 2 hours later! So that's something I've been doing since winter started.
    7) Clothing is something I often don't change out of into pajamas during winter, often since I'm so cold I just sleep in my daytime clothes since it's so cold and I'm so tired from school and other stuff.
    8) Going to bed late is another guilty pleasure of mine during my winter break, I often find myself writing a story while listening to music like the song Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes) by Edison Lighthouse (They're a British pop band) and while I'm doing that I don't really keep track of time and sometimes I fall asleep after midnight (Once I went to sleep after 3 in the morning!)
    9) Bundling up in warm clothes/blankets is another guilty pleasure, I'm a big layers kind of girl, I often layer up on clothing when I'm at home and when I go to bed I layer my blankets to make this "Weighted blanket" Sure it's heavy but being neuro divergent I need the extra warmth before the cold makes me super uncomfortable and not being able to sleep.
    10) I enjoy having a Christmas party in each class to end off school for break, it's super chill and it feels great to unwind before not seeing peers and teachers until the new year.

One of my best ways of keeping warm is a down comforter! Light and very warming. Also either a casmier or a angora sweater definitely keeps the cold away!! I love the softness of the yarn.. It is expensive but so worth the money!!

Hey Christian!! Man you are so awesome with meditation vacation. I hope that you continue that in the next year as well. I always love comming home from work and you always speak when I need to hear something. So what i like about winter and Fall especially Christmas is when I am on the bus headed to work I don’t know what it is but their is something about riding on the bus in the winter. You feel safe and warm. I mean riding the bus is something that we do every day if not that almost every day. It is a part of many people’s lives and we really don’t think anything of it. I mean get on the bus and go but I don’t take my commutes to and from work for granted. Especially in the winter. Their is a different vibe about riding th bus in the winter. It is very cold and crisp and having those bus doors open like arms opening ready to receive you is something else to the motor humming down the free way I mean it is a totally different vibe. I just a lot of the time let the bus loll me in to a relaxation state. I love commuting by bus. It is very relaxing and I say this to my bus drives. “Bus time is chill time.” As a pianist I have to make a lot of mental notes and decisions all of the time. Where am I playing for who am i playing for where am I playing. How is the crowd what is the event that i am playing for. How should the level of the piano bee. All these things and more i have to make fine decisions so that everyone will bee happy. Am I going to bee in a situation where i am playing loud or is it a dining experience how should the level of the piano bee so that people can talk. How will I keep the piano under everyone. So it is not to loud. And how am i going to move in a way that the sound comes out that way that i want it. Well, Bering on the bus I can relax my mind. I am not the one having to make decisions at the time. I can text and email but I usually try not to do that so that way i can just concentrate on the bus and the sounds that i hear. But their is something that always brings me back to getting on the bus. Every time I get on the bus fir work I always think of that part of me when I was a school aged child getting on the bus on a fall crisp morning. Well, of course now the bus is used totally different and it is a totally different purpose. But it leads me back to being that child again almost bundling up and getting on in the crisp cold mornings. Drivers are always their to keep you safe and ready for a nice ride. Sometimes I have even heard the bus drivers singing with the Christmas tunes on the bus radio. Yep the drivers are singing along and the motor is humming I mean in the other seasons you can feel the same and it is awesome and it is a totally different vibe. In the summer you get on the bus and it is nice and cool and refreshing but in the winter the bus is almost like home. Someone is their to invite you on and it is warm and you can sit in your seat and snuggle up and relax. No cares in the world just being present. Bus riding has a way of doing that. It is a time in your day where you don’t have to make a decision. The decisions are already being made by your driver. Actually people always ask. What is the best part of my work day even measure day and it always has to do with a bus. I love my job as a working pianist and I do actually get a lot of work during the Christmas time work is always their for me doesn’t matter what time of year it is. Work is always demanding which is good. We always have work as a pianist. But the best part of my work day is riding the bus. That is chill time for me and almost like meditation vacation. Being on the bus just being their. Not doing anything. Most of the time even on long commutes and making a connection or 2 I don’t even do anything on the bus
I am just taking everything in. The jolting of the bus and feeling of the experience. Being close enough to the driver getting to hear them making decisions about the rout they want to take. How they handle when cars cross in front of the bus. It is cool to hear all of this. I pay attention to those kinds of things. I mean it is actually pretty cool how we can just as commuters ride and feel at home and the minutes or hours we have on the bus we are not making decisions.+
It is a time where i get to relax my brain hahahahahaha. And riding the bus is a time to reflect on how your day is going to turn out or when you are returning from work it is a time to reflect on that day and how it went. Can’t say I have really ever slept on the bus but the bus does put me in a relaxed and meditative state. Of just being mindful
. It gives you that feeling almost. Also feeling the bus almost dancing down the road it is happy to bee carrying its passengers as the feeling of almost feeling the bus dancing down the freeway.almost like riding the train but a bit more bouncy. Sometimes I almost feel as if the bus is dancing hahahahah. Puts me at ease as I am riding it and I feel free and safe!!

I really enjoyed reading your comment about your bus ride. It reminds me of being in school when I used to ride it twice and sometimes four times a day.
Your ride during the winter â›” season sounds perfect for a mediation vacation video!! Maybe Christian will consider it perhaps?? Hoping you have a wonderful holiday season Ben!
