We tend to forget about the caretakers of us when we are unwell and Bauke had a lot of his shoulders for a long time. He is truly a very strong amazing man to fulfill your long dreamed of arena. He has earned a lot of respect.

Poor Bauke must have been traumatised to see his wife so badly injured, he was so strong keeping us up to date with your progress, it probably wasn’t until you woke up that the pressure he felt hit him. You can both now rehabilitate together and take pleasure in building this lovely arena and have some happier times seeing the ponies frolicking around all safe and secure. I’m sure Rein will be coming to view the competition in due course 😂

Bauke, you really are Superman (sorry Spider-Man), for keeping it together after Yvonne’s accident and all during her recovery ❤️🩹! It's really nice seeing Bauke smiling again. I still, and will always remember him getting in front of the camera like that and for such a horrible thing. He really thought thought he was losing his best friend, his wife, and the mother of his children. So truly grateful to have you back, and you're doing freaking awesome🎉 You have beaten all odds of survival and for you to come out of a come and be able to do what you Love so very much!!

Every so often when I see your videos, I remember Bauke, in the midst of his grief and pain, taking the time to let us know what was going on. Then he kept us informed. What a kind act from a wonderful man. I'm so happy to see you all up and about and getting better!

When Bauke made the first video giving us all information about your accident, the pain, fear, and love for you was written all over him. I think he's happy making this arena for you because it means you are getting better & better. It means the love of his life is getting well. Still, give yourself time, Yvonne. I remember the first time Bauke posted the video updating us about your accident. He was trying to hold it together to tell everyone the news- but then he showed his softer side, and all of your followers told him it was okay and how much we love and care for your family. It really seemed to help Bauke. I can't imagine what it felt like for him to face that he might lose his wife, or that you would be disabled severly. I know I prayed and prayed and prayed and cried myself. I am so happy we are on this journey with you Yvonne. We all are so grateful you are recovering. Its a long process but you have a whole herd standing behind you!

All my pups were gotten from situations where they needed help and a new home my first love came into my life in 2010 when I was almost 13(25 now)so shell b 13 in April we’ve grown up together and she’s gotten me through some tough times don’t know what I’d do without her or the other 2.❤️❤️

You only live once is the thing. I had a health issue myself in 2020 and it really makes you try and live your life as fully as possible. I’m so happy for you and your family at how well you are doing and how you can make a big play area for your sons and ponies!

I understand how Bauke feels. My son in Law is so stressed because my daughter has just had open heart surgery . He goes to the hospital every day to be with her and goes home to take care of their dog. And my daughter is also having a slow recovery. And they were unprepared for this whole thing. I too went through a traumatic incident and was not expecting to live. I work everyday to overcome the trauma it causes both mentally and physically. Not letting it slow you down is so important. My husband struggles with his own ups and downs. Our men had to be so strong, especially as I also have 2 boys. Some days he just feels blessed that we are still living life. Other days, he's quiet and withdrawn as he's feeling another wave of being overwhelmed as he did during the trauma. We are over 2 yrs out now and we improve slowly overtime but it's hard for us to ever be the people we were before. I pray one day soon we can both remember what we went through in a positive light more often than not. I pray the same for you and Bauke.

It is very difficult to predict the outcome of such a thing, but they might have said that the family needed to be prepared for a worst case scenario. I can see why it has been very stressful for Bauke and that he still feels that in one way or another.
I googled this type of injury at the time because I had never heard of it. There was also an article that presented the chances of survival and recovery. I was shocked! No surprise the doctors held back. Yvonne's healing process is really a miracle.

I remember so clearly when Bauke choked up when delivering early news of Yvonne. He apologised to us for showing his emotions. He didn't know that, on the other side of the screen, tens of thousands of people were bawling their eyes out - for HIM!

Grandma Sherry, I have the BEST NEWS EVER! On the Community page a poster named Goster said that our Beloved Lieke took her IBOP test today! And it's on YT. Just search IBOP Wergea 24 maart 2023. She's #10 at 1:18. She looks lovely and is still a little chatterbox. They don't repeat the report in English, but Goster said Lieke scored 74. I am beyond happy, grinning ear-to-ear, just to be able to see her and watch her. We had no news, but she is doing great! Doing my happy dance. 🐴❤🧡💛😃😄🙂
Of course Bauke has been struggling with the stress. When I was ill, my own husband had much trauma to deal with. It's hard when it's you who is injured/ill and can't help too much except try to recover as cheerfully as possible. It will take time but you will both get there.

Bauke has a great sense of humor! When you were in coma he told funniest joke when new born Spidey was checking out his notes he commented that Spidey could not read, yet. I laughed so hard. Thank all of you for making and being in videos and choosing to share these! Be well.
Dieuwke is so adorable playing with shadows, I could watch it all day! Bauke is an absolute rockstar for pushing through, all his hard work, being an amazing husband and father and making your dream come true! I’m so excited to see the completed arena! P.s. I got my books and I will treasure them forever! I love the signatures from everyone and notes and of course Uniek’s hoof print! I spent the whole day reading them and then to my granddaughter… she absolutely loved them! The books are so precious and I can’t thank you enough!

@@lisajoyaslanis First of all, only the e-book (pdf) version is for sale. I had a very limited number of paper copies professionally printed, mainly in order to do the giveaway on Risey's first birthday but also to provide Yvonne and Geertje (and Faya) their own hard copies. The postage costs of shipping a paper book around the world would have been prohibitive, and Yvonne's merchandise platform doesn't even sell paper books, as far as I know.
Second, I don't know how to load a debit card. I mostly use PayPal, and it's linked to my bank accounts. I would put my e-mail here so we can take this discussion offline, but I'm concerned about being inundated with spam. FYI, I read a comment a while ago that someone printed the pdf; they clearly had access to a colour printer.
If any other member of the Herd can help Lisa with her debit card problem (and she'll settle for buying the electronic version of the books), please chime in.
We love Bauke and your whole family and all your friends for standing as strong with you as they have gone through this with you. You are all blessed to have each other and continue through this healing process together. Bauke was strong for your subscriber family as well as for your family and we thank him for that. It’s hard to return to normal life without thinking about what could have happened. You’ll never be as innocent of what can happen as you once were. But, knowing those things will make you appreciate life that you have now even more. We all need to live like tomorrow may never come. After your accident, I saw the people around you grieving and terribly worried and showing how much they love you. Your mother and sister. Your husband speaking on this channel for you, because it was something that had meaning for you. Your children love you, and the animals. I imagine they are reflecting back to you what you are giving them. your example of healing, grit and determination to move forward with the support of everyone is inspiring. I appreciate the joyous animals surrounding you, especially the young ones like Risey, Spidey and Dieuwke. I can't help but smile, no matter what.
