Great vid - not sure how I missed it. Would love to fish for Zds from the yak. It’s on my list of things to do!

Dont forget you need to register and licence ALL watercraft used on rivers and canals!!!

Very Nice Indeed ! I would do the same but it's not allowed on BAA waters ...

Who owns the other side of the water, unless Birmingham Anglers owns both sides, People never seem to mind, if its a pleasure craft fishing, but as soon as it's a Kayak, then it's a problem.
Is the water that you are considering fishing classified as tidal ?
There are quite a few lakes, which are coming around to the idea of allowing Kayak Angling on their waters. Llangorse in the Brecon Beacons for example. See: Angler afloat Forum

Excuse me but how many cost for a kayaking fishing permit ? Is it necessary to be part of a club to be able to fish in kayak ( i have a hobie Oasis tandem and i would like to use it...) Thank you for your answer !!

      Hi
If you fishing on a tidal river then as long as you have an environment agency rod licence, it's free, but you cannot moor on any bank.
You will still need to purchase a navigation permit, cheapest and best is to join the British Canoe Association.
If the waterway is non tidal them you need all of the above, plus the land owners, clubs permission.
      Hope this helps

@@roystonpritchard59 Thank you! hum if i may ask again : Is there a document on rivers subject to tides? As in your video, is the Avon River subject to tides? Thanks again !

@@Noname-dd6ly sadly no the River Avon is non tidal, so you need the permission of the land owner.
In the 4 years that I fished for Pike, Zander & Perch, I was never asked to show any proof that I had the land owners permission.
The Thames, River Humber & Severn are all tidal.
Some of the local Salmon anglers said to me that the Severn is only tidal as far up as Gloucester, so I contacted the Environment agency, to ask them, their reply was no it's tidal up as far as Worcester.
I think to be honest, if your not making a nusence, then no one seems to bother you.
I sold all my kit, the worst think that I ever did, regret it now.
One piece of advice that I would give us to practice re entry quite a few times Incase of capsize, and make sure you wear a personal floatation device.
      Happy days

@@roystonpritchard59 Thank you very much for your detailed answer, it's very kind of you. I am not English and the laws here are very complicated in the sense that nothing is really clear. I practiced a lot of kayak fishing in saltwater but never in English fresh water. Thanks again for your answer !. This is good news for the Severn!
I am 100% release and fly fish only. As you know, from the shore in England, it is very complicated because the banks are made for barbel fishermen and the rest is difficult to access...even more with a fly rod..
So I just have to look at the different fishing associations to be in the rules
      A big thank you ! :)
