Wow Shawn, I love you straightforward, clear, and concise explanations, and also how you strategically progressed the different ways to build one method on the skill learned from the previous method. This is QUALITY education and excited to watch more of your content!
I've been searching for a month now on how to create that word by word caption for my shorts. Thank you so much for this!
Happy to help!
Thank you, Shawn. So tired of watchng people using different classy plugins and such. Thank you for going straight to the point, very rare these days.
Thank you so much for being a good teacher!

Nailed it Man. :)
Awesome video and exactly what I was looking for, thank you!
You're welcome!
I've looked for videos showing how each word comes in one at a time, thinking it was some sort of effect on premiere. But nope, looks like it's about an hour extra of work 😅. But worth it. Thanks for showing that!
You're welcome! Hopefully sooner than later there will be a quicker automated way! I tend to only use captions on short segments of my videos anyway, so it's no so bad for me...
Thank you for demoing how to do these effects natively. Tons of vids shilling plugins and presets.
No worries! It's funny though, I still get flack from people in the comments for not giving an "easier way." It's not my fault Premiere doesn't have these functions built in yet, and yes...plenty of other videos just say to plugins/etc. Glad you got what you needed. Thanks for watching!
Damn sir! The dedication on doing this! Thanks for this tutorial! :))
It was really helpful man, thanks!
No problem!
Nice tutorial. I’m a moderator for the SubMachine plugin that PremiereGal and myself use. I’ll be sharing this on Premiere discord as the long way to do subtitles and captions. Keep up the good work
Thanks! Much Appreciated! 👍

Great job Shawn. It takes a minute to do all this. Hopefully Premiere gets with the times so we dont have to use third party apps to get this done faster! Great tutorial. You have a crisp voice too sir.
Ha! Thanks. There's a lot of people commenting to just use a plugin, and I guess that's where things are going (where everything will just be done for you) but I also like knowing how to do things manually myself. Thanks for watching!
lovely work, helped me so much

Great video, I will be using this to practice forsure. One tip that you might already be aware of, You don't need to listen for the dialogue anymore to make cuts. You can transcribe it in the beta version of premiere pro and jump to each word in your captions in the Text window. Hope that helps mate, cheers!
THANK YOU!
You're welcome!

ha! Thanks for the support. 👍
Thak you

Great video. Is there any app as well which can share the word by word caption style?
For word-by-word sentence coming out, you can try masking the text from the opacity panel using a rectangluar mask to cover the enitre text. Kefyframe 1: width of the rectangle=0 (before the first word is spoken), Keyframe 2: full width of the rectangle (when the last word is spoken).
I've been using the same for my videos.
Do let me know, how you find this :)
That's why I made this other video WITH Keyframing, that explains other methods like the one you stated (at the end of the video) czcams.com/video/HQ-SNBq8Hnc/video.html
Keep up the Good work big man, from a beginner Video Editor in NIGERIA
Thanks for the support and for watching! Much appreciated. 👍
@@ThisGuy I want to ask questions, directly.. but i can i ask them here or via email.. my System doesn't have "Upgrade to Source Graphics" , reasons is because i didn't pay for it app, in Nigeria here i use what's called the Cracked version. It's gives me the ability to use the app without paying for it, i know this is wrong, but i don't have the money to do so
So my question is, is there anything way to turn captions into source graphics on Adobe premiere pro 2022 without going on "graphics and title"
@@RPOlawale "Upgrade to source graphics" has on only been available recently. 23.1 version forwards, I believe.
@@whitedinamo thank you gee
@@RPOlawale You can do all of these effects by creating your own regular text graphics AND by using the yellow captions themselves. I only convert to graphic because then I can ALSO use keyframing to animate (which is my next video).
The word by word can i make it into preset inorder not to do again just drag and drop or is it compulsory to make it anytime
Any ideas why the 'convert captions to graphics' options is greyed out for me? Everything else is the same as your example. Fallen at the first hurdle 😅 Thank you! Great video.
It's only available in the latest updates, maybe you yours is older still?
❤
Where do you find the "baseline shift" for text? I don't have that option!
anyone know how dylan anderson does his subtitles? im having trouble figuring out how to do his style
Hello Sir, many many thanks for showing us these ways to animate our captions ❣ I just have one question sir, can we do the karoke style caption with any plugin or tool? i mean its very tedious process to cut all words and then placing them as per text position... please see if we can figure out something for this sir...🙏🙏
There isn't anything built in to Premiere Pro like that yet (not that I'm aware of). Premiere Gal did a video recently about a Plugin that does it though I think. Maybe check her video out. I'm guessing that Premiere will add some sort of AI to do it soon, as much more basic apps like Capcut can already do it no problem. We'll have to wait and see when/if they do it...?
@@ThisGuy thanks for ur reply 👍
If the video is very long, do I have to go through each word and adjust its settings?
Thank you, Sir! Looking For This Video. This Video Should Get A Million Views. SUBSCRIBED and will share This
Thank you. It's very cool, but labor intensive. Is there a script or a free plugin?
I usually don't post comments, but I felt compelled to comment on this video. THANK U
I appreciate that. Glad it was helpful!
Is there an automated way to do the karaoke captions in Premier Pro or does that functionality not exist yet?
If you have a subtitle sentence in .srt divided into words and each word has a beginning and end time in srt, then how to put a karaoke effect in sentence on each word if the time is already there . Something like this is done by the submachine plugin from Adobe, but it is not free Can be other ways???!!!!
