To drive there in the 60s, between poles, walls and crowd, in a bathtub with 400 hp and no seatbelts, they needed balls of adamantium.
Vibranium-adamantium mix
Or vibranium
Or obsidian
And manual gearbox too
Actually the weight of their balls was the only way to get some downforce back then.

He didn't crash, a heat shield on his engine failed and his engine blew up.

1:30 Typical TV zoom lenses and tracking shots don't do these things justice. By the time you react you're already looking the wrong way.
The camera angle sucks in F1..especially in straights
Liberty Media said that they would be working on it for this year. But so far I saw no difference.
Agreed... I would like to see some camera shots with the full corner We would be able to see the speed through the high geforce turns.
You're absolutely right
In real life F1 speed (especially at Monaco) is crazy.
Tv doesn't give justice
Sorry for my English
Agree, nascar and indy doing better
Imagine if you were racing at monaco's streets while there is no barriers or anything to improve safety
You might end up swimming like Ascari did a few weeks before he crashed fatality at monza

Formula 1 is not very nice.
Lol 😂
Icemen for you, normal man will getting wrenches out and head to Red Bull’s pit after the race...
3:20 that could have been the sickest reverse entry drift of all time, so close.
This was a well made video, thank you.
2:11 stefan bellof, the Guy with huge balls and talent. Rip legend.
2:05 shows how good Bellof really was. Passing Ferrari’s Arnoux in a Tyrrell at rainy conditions in Monaco.
Would’ve been Sennas the no.1 rival without a doubt!
R.I.P.
really sad, he went way too early... RIP
Bellof could have won that race if the red flags never came, having been lapping faster than both Senna and Prost while running in a strong third ... well, that was before Tyrrell were disqualified from the entire season with both drivers and constructors results wiped.
He was better then Senna to me
Bellof another one of those that left us before being able to demonstrate their greatness...
Unfortunately Bellof drove more with his heart than his head, and it cost him his life. RIP.
2:18 Kimi is so frustrated but it sounded cute in the end..
At 1:31 that's the kind of F1 view we want more often. No zoom, no camera movement, a true sense of speed. The conventional shots tend to remove the impression of speed.
Not even a Schumacher fan but the rules said if the race goes green you can overtake after the safety car line, which he did. Should never have been penalised for that
Agree, I was there at that corner and it was superb to watch. Then I was at Tabac for his last pole position in 2012 and it was again an unforgettable moment. Huge shame that both were ruined by penalties.
2:57 *Mentions the hairpin, but doesn't mention "the master of the hairpin" Adrian Sutil, who had the balls to make amazing overtakes in that corner*

You know something, Michael Schumacher has made so many overtakes at Monaco in the most awkward of places and made them look easy. I miss him. 😢 my GOAT
Senna is the n1 in monaco.. in that qual lap 88 he showed that he dominated every single of the corners.. simply poetry in wheelss.
Senna is the greatest driver that I have ever seen. I'm a Ferrari supporter and cried when he was killed! RIP Senna!
I love that photo of Stewart, Hill and Clark. Just great.
One of my favourite Monaco moments is long before my time. Stirling Moss ended an interview because he said he much preferred to be chasing women.

Edit: Seriously that is a good moments that is needed to get added, I was dramatic but insane.
What a pity
Thanks for not including the video. But when I think of Monaco I'll always remember Lorenzo Bandini .
Yes, I remember watching that day with my late father. What a tragedy that was. The race was on ABC's Wide World of Sport back then in Canada and the USA. Love Ferrari and all it's great drivers including Lorzeno Bandini.
My feelings too, exactly. The course has been altered there, as you probably know, to help make that type of accident much less likely; plus Jackie Stewart's and more's work for safety design. Lorenzo Bandini's accident brought it home that '60's F1 cars were cigar shaped fuel tanks with an engine in back.
60s F1 cars were just a bathtub on a chassis including a V8 or V12 and splitters. They were just cigars that could race. Bandini's crash made Monaco a different track and it will always be remembered.

You don't get to savor the sound 'cause they go by so fast lmao
With a V10 or V12 or even late V8 he would have had to wear earmuffs and you would not be able to hear what he's saying. These cars are no louder than GT2 cars. And unlike GT cars they all have the same sound. Boring.
@@cippacathion3192 no sense in excessive noise then if you can't even experience it's raw sound without going deaf for a few hours or days at best, worst permanently
I think a lot of people are confused about the difference between volume and tone, especially since most of the people complaining never hear one in person, they sound boring because of the tone, boosted, especially turbo, cars sound slower because of the lack of rpm changes through the optimum rev range, they make more even power in a lower band this is heard through a lack of tone change, which compared to the past cars sounds boring, even at the same volume.
Brilliant summary of 90 years: "That has remained relatively unchanged in all that time" That is so true... but what has changed? Cars, engines, tires, regulations, speed, aerodynamics... EVERYTHING beside the track...has changed.
All i hope for Sunday is HEAVY rain. Why? Because no driver drinks any longer, no party night before, everything is so clinical and clean. Tyre pressure is in the +/-0.001 BAR pressure, every wing is within 0.1 degree. Everything is now computer simulated THAT has changed. so what is left for us trying to cling on to this sport? Saturday - practice 3 and qualifying, THAT is the race!
What is left that we cannot control, test, repeat and put into numbers and simulators.... mother f**** earth. GIVE US RAIN!
We call it an evolution 🤦♂️
