Electric Kettle Purchased From Costco 1 year update Yay or Nay ?

- Hey there CZcams ! Im so glad I was finally able to post an update on the electric glass kettle
ive had this for a year now and had no issues while using it. We like it so that that I ended up purchasing another for our townhouse which we rent out short term. Our guests love it too!

I have this kettle and I love it . I use it in the work office. I have only boiled the water for both tea and instant coffees,never use the infuser or add anything besides bottled water. Main reason for this is because it would be difficult to try to clean it.

I don’t like the diffuser , it makes my tea taste weird 😬
For cleaning , Besides a dish sponge, a bottle brush works really well ...... but yes either way it’s a great lil kettle 😊

I’m a lil hesitant to use coffee tea machines in hotel rooms , I think this portable kettle could be very handy.

I have a similar one but just boil water in it. Even so, after a period of time the base inside gets stained. I pour some coke in, boil it and rinse it out. No more stains.

I forgot to mention in the vid , I had descaled it once using some vinegar
@@NRImomslifestyle I find wine is a good descaler of mineral deposits the bottoms and on the sides of my husbands glass/crystal water glasses. It's a big glass of wine but that's how devoted to housecleaning I am! PS: Nice video!
Omg I bought that kettle and returned it because I hated the diffuser. I didn’t even think to put it directly in the pot. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ thanks so much for this video

Yea the diffuser just doesn’t work , I wish they had designed that part better . Idk why but each time I tried it , my tea tasted a lil funky 😬

I was loving the blue light for my morning routine. Sorry to say lid does not close after 8 months of use. automatically pops open when you try to close it, water keeps boiling without triggering stop mechanism

Yours look upscale. I just bought mine from target it has a black plastic top
Her is upscale it has a built-in tea diffuser. The on I purchased from Costco does not have that feature.

I bought this kettle a couple weeks ago. I cannot figure out how to turn it off without unplugging it
The lid of our pot would not close after 3 months of use. Do you know how to repair it? A video on this will be very much appreciated.
Thanks for watching! I haven’t run into the issue of lid not fully closing yet , I can take a look at mine at see if I can figure it out . .I can’t remember if there’s warranty period , if this has happened in only 3 months , maybe if you contacted them , they might replace it for you perhaps?

I bought the kettle but I have a problem with the opening of the kettle. It is sluggish. Just a week ago I bought it from Costco
Just recently bought this but have no idea how to use this. Turn it on but it wont boil the water and can't press the temperature up and down..

Thanks for watching ! For this one ,It takes approximately 2 and a half to 3 mins ( under 3 mins ) to boil about 3 cups of water .

What happens if I put tea powder, sugar and also milk after boil? Is it advisable?
Hi there! Thanks for watching. Good question......I think by adding milk ( or any liquid that’s cream / fat based ) it might end up being little difficult to clean , esp milk n sugar , and could damage the glass interior , as well as the filter mesh .... that’s my guess. If you ask my advise , I probably would be a little hesitant to try 😬😬
But if you do give it try , plz do share your experience .

@@bhargo13 Its the Chefman 1.8 liter electric kettle, I purchased mine from Costco. If it’s not in the warehouse, I think they might still have it in stock, online . I do see it available in my zip code , the online price is $34 which I think is more than I what I paid when I bought it . I do see it on Amazon .

total garbage, the water doesn't stay hot for very long since it's glass and the lid broke within 2 months of having it. I should have returned it, but we just used our back up kettle instead, now that the back p is broke, we've switched back to this one and it's just been nothing but junk, I don't recommend it.
