I love the character development of EVE. As the movie goes on, due to multiple events, she becomes a lot less robot and gains a personality instead of being trigger-happy and straightforward. The crazy part is, barely any dialogue is spoken! Movie’s a masterpiece :)
I think that that was a part of the secret autopilot mission. Equipping Eva with those guns will lead her into destroying possible samples of life, giving AUTO the excuse in keeping the humans in space
