I love all 3 of you all, but this podcast always feels like it's the 2 nerd kids who have finally gotten brave enough to pick on the cool kid, and the cool kid *cough* Kevin *cough* just puts up with you guys as a courtesy .

This is why we need Kevin to monitor the 2 kids trying to be adults. 😂 Not this is a great show to have some great laughs and learn a little too. Just a nice relaxing what comes to mind podcast. Doesn't always have to be 100% reselling or all serious or all humor. Keep it up guys....❤

Hi Dave I've been a android user since the beginning and for the last few years I've used the Google pixel and love it. I've been an apple hater since the beginning of Apple computer.
I would rather send an offer than promote item. Promoted listings would only be necessary in saturated markets. And even then does promoting really help?

I’m doing a Tupperware Whatnot show on Saturday and when I’ve watched others they seem to get close to eBay prices. Can’t wait to see how that goes. Such an exciting episode - watching you troubleshoot a minor issue. I was a week behind watching this episode. I finally shut it off and went to the most current episode, hoping for something better. I'm 90% certain I'll be disappointed.

Another reason for starting an auction at say $50 is if you get zero bids that tells you buyers dont value the item that high. Then you can price it better on Buy It Now.

There is another reason for doing Auctions on ebay Kevin. I will start the auction for what I want for the item, if it gets many bids its a bonus. BUT if it only gets one bid at least I am getting the price I wanted. I dont have to discount the item, I dont have to send offers or accept best offers, I end up getting my price. 9 times out of 10 in Buy It Now the item does not sell for full asking price. Also Ebay favors your account with views if you have at least a few auctions going on, this was told to me by an ebay seller representative. I dont know how true that is but it cant hurt.

Without a doubt and they are faking traffic on your down days. Ebay is so ripe for some State's AG to sue them into oblivion. Florida should do it as part of their feud with California.

I don't necessarily get hyper-focused, but I've noticed that sometimes I start ignoring stuff because I don't want to list it / ship it and some of the things start falling outside of my metrics if that particular item is on the downslide. I will also mention, I do have times where I just don't find stuff I'm looking for. I tend to buy a lot of clothing and the first couple of weeks of yard sale season, I picked up a lot of clothing. The last two weeks? Almost no clothing pieces besides hats. I think I got like an Ohio State Puffer Vest. Some weeks I end up finding a ton of books, last week the only book I picked up was a book on collecting Uranium Glass that was at the flea market.
you make the sale, then call the guy after they provide his phone number, have him cancel the sale and then arrange to sell it outside ebay. A really good practice on heavy and expensive items.

Havent promoted since July. I send offers and do sales. those percentages only apply to the base price. This year my sales are down but since im not paying the payola my net is positive. Promoting is just plain STUPID!

I don’t care what anybody says.. I would rather watch you guys for 24 straight hours.. and get some laughs out of it. Then to look at another two minutes over on Lonnie’s (from shed flips) new channel.- it’s about packing items up and how it’s done.. let me tell you guys don’t think about doing stuff like that watching people pack stuff is mind numbing… I’d rather watch grass grow..
I personally think that these people that are telling Lonnie and whoever makes those videos on packaging items are laughing their asses off because they making them do stupid crap.. it’s like somebody getting somebody else to do a stupid human trick. think about it guys if these people don’t know how to pack a box, they shouldn’t be in the freaking business. I really think that it’s a bunch of kids who is looking to make you guys their puppets… these are the same so called buyers that after they win an auction , they never pay… and they’re just laughing and laughing that they’re making you guys relist the item. Think about it how many times do you need somebody show you how to pack something.. these guys are making Lonnie and his wife jump through hoops. Don’t let them do that to you.. if they want to see how to pack items.. make one video with different size packages and referred to them.. but making packaging video as part of your weekly content.. will surely make you lose subscribers, or they won’t be enough subscribers on those channels to monetize it. So you’ll only be wasting your time..

The fundamental disconnect of why promotions are there is astounding. With over 1.7 billion individual listings currently on the platform you need a way to have items seen, and yes it is pay to play. Search shows 20 items per page, how many people look pass that 1st page? Most do not, so your items will quickly get buried and NEVER be seen - unless there are less than 20 active.
On top of that, Kevin always uses the example of 10-15% promo rates. You dont need that much, 2-4 % works in most categories except for those super saturated categories like clothes and jewelry.
Why not put your money where your mouth is and promote for 30 days and see if you get a sales lift over 'passing savings onto the buyer'. That would be a fair proof of concept.

But seriously, don't be scared to be proven wrong. Spend 2% for an 8% boost (what my multiple tests resulted in when promoting at 2.2%) with just a few clicks is the easiest money you can make. That net 6% gain can be significant. (About $220 based on Dave's 3700 in sales). Results may vary, but I guarantee you will sell more and make more. At minimum, you will have actual data to compare rather than just your feelings about it. That data would be valuable to your viewers too, even if it doesn't fit your narrative. Isn't the goal to sell and make more?
