    I didn’t even finish the video before I went online and purchased for my 6th grader! I absolutely love that it also has a dvd option for the video lessons!! We live in a very rural area and internet connection is more of a suggestion really 😂 so that is perfect for us!! I used your name at checkout to let them know how I heard about them!

    I hadn't come across this curriculum until I saw your email and this may be exactly what I have been looking for. I really appreciate the well thought out layout that makes scheduling and reporting easier on me and the leveled workbooks and videos are a bonus as I have 2 kids just a few grades apart. This looks like a solid and affordable high school option further down the road as well!

    Hi! Thanks for the review! I have been looking into this and I came across someone else on CZcams mentioning the videos are dry and old school. What is your opinion on the quality and is it enticing to watch? Thank you!

    • @blessedhomeschool
      @blessedhomeschool  Před 4 měsíci +2

      Ohh I personally don’t think they are dry, but that can be pretty subjective! This is the only class we have tried, so I can’t speak to any of the others. But with this class, the screen changes often on the videos and they use a lot of graphics and models and I think it’s interesting 🤷‍♀️. And they keep my son’s attention!
      I know they have some sample classes you can view on their website, so definitely check those out if you’d like a closer look. Otherwise, the class I have playing in the background during this video is a pretty good representation of the videos we’ve had so far using it 😊. Thanks for watching!

    Thank you. I heard about Science Shepherd through one of your videos and wrote it on my curriculums to look into. Thank you for this thorough walk-through and it does seem like such a simple and easy open-and-go curriculum.
    I wanted to ask what subjects you cover for all your older kids. I guess I'm struggling to walk away from an all-in-one curriculum and opting for a curriculum pieced together by me. Very timid as it is my first year and never taught at all before.
    And do you have a video showing how you planned your day with all your kids. I struggle trying to manage our time and how it will best benefit my kids and I. My kids are very energetic.
    There are days i just want to send them bqck to public school but I know that is satan making me doubt myself and the calling to homeschool.
    Another question, I heard you talk about homeschool conventions and how it helped you to bring about your youtube channel. Where can i find homeschool conventions or classes that will help prosper this journey?
    Again, thankyou for all you do and your diligence in this. Your videos and words help me greatly and truly inspire me to keep going because its worth it and its fun. ❤

      I’m so glad you are here! Yes, there ARE hard days but you are doing an amazing thing homeschooling your kids. You CAN do this 💜
      Which all-in-one curriculum are you using right now? Is there a reason you are wanting to walk away from it? I love all-in-one curriculums and used them for my first few years of homeschooling! I think they get a bad rep for some reason, but they can be so good 😊
      I’ll talk a bit about subjects in an upcoming video! As for planning…let me think about this. Our days honestly look sooo different because this year we have different things going on each day, I can’t say we have much consistency 😬. We use Homeschool Planet to help us stay on track with all we need to get done!

    • @blessedhomeschool
      @blessedhomeschool  Před 4 měsíci

      Have you heard about the Teach Them Diligently homeschool convention? I HIGHLY recommend checking to see if you can attend one! Greater Homeschool Conventions is another large popular convention, but it’s not strictly Christian-based.

      I was having a tough time with my 2 kids until I signed them up for a few outschool classes. They just need someone different teaching them from time to time. We do a cooking through history class that my kids love. Read a book & cook a meal from that time period. Also, my son has dyslexia, so we have him getting amazing tutoring for less than some of these local centers. Good luck!

    Does this course come with science experiments? If so how often are they scheduled in?
    Also does it teach how to write lab reports etc?

    • @blessedhomeschool
      @blessedhomeschool  Před 13 dny

      This particular course does not come with experiments or doing lab reports. I’m fairly sure I saw on the website that the high-school level courses will do this, but I’d reach out to them to double check (their customer service is great!).

    I just found this curriculum a few days ago. I am working on a curriculum that examines dinosaurs through various lenses such as evolution & creationism, old earth vs young earth. I want my children to be able to understand the way many people look at the same thing, but have very different interpretations, & be able to decide for themselves what they believe. This curriculum would be a great addition as it will expand upon what I am already doing.

      @@blessedhomeschool we are not currently using a curriculum. We just dive into whatever we are interested in. As for the Dinosaur materials we have tons of books from Master Books & mainstream content. I only have 1 book that is old earth creation right now. I'm also utilizing the book Before Genesis.

    Do you think this course could be used easily by an average 3rd grader as well, with the Level A notebook? I know SS says it can, but I have used science curriculum from another publisher that says it’s for a wide range of elementary grades and it is far too advanced. :( Thanks!

    • @blessedhomeschool
      @blessedhomeschool  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Ooohh this can be a tough question!! My initial thought is that yes, it really could. I think that the instructor really breaks down concepts, and the diagrams/visuals are super helpful as well. He does talk kind of fast sometimes, BUT, the videos are short and could be rewatched if needed (or, they are short enough that it might be easy for you to watch with your 3rd grader and help them as needed).
      I'd highly recommend checking out their free preview, where you can view entire lessons and workbook samples. Here's a link! scienceshepherd.com/pages/samples#physicalscience
      I would also suggest taking a look at the scope and sequence of the Introductory Science and Earth Science as well; if those include topics that interest your kids, they might be good options for that age/grade as well!

    • @tori.homeschoolingmom
      @tori.homeschoolingmom Před 3 měsíci

      @@blessedhomeschool Thanks! I’m actually planning ahead… I want to keep my incoming 2nd and 5th grader together for science, and Earth Science would definitely meet their interests this coming year plus be a better challenge level for my oldest than Intro Science. But I don’t want to push my youngest too much by having him always be at the youngest possible grade. Decisions are hard. 😆

      It could be worth a try! I’d go with the level A book to start with. Not sure if they’re used to online lessons or not, but these are so short and easy to follow, I think it’s a great option. But you may also check out their “course finder” tool to see which course would be the best fit.

      There are!! I will say that the company is very helpful if you have questions or might want help choosing. Introductory Science might be a good option for your 9 & 6 to do together depending on what science you have studied so far!

    • @keristorhok5007
      @keristorhok5007 Před 4 měsíci

      That’s kind of what I was thinking. We’ve been doing science through Master Books and unit studies from TGTB but I want to switch out of those. I’ll probably do Intro for my younger two because I love the wide variety it covers and physical or life science for my oldest. She has expressed interest in chemistry and she loves astronomy. I prefer life science. 😂 Or I could start in Earth science for my older two and take my youngest through the adventures in Creation series from MasterBooks since I loved those for my other two when they were younger. 🤔

    • @blessedhomeschool
      @blessedhomeschool  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Both sound like great options - I know how hard making the decision can be! 😂.

  • @AlishaGarciax
    @AlishaGarciax Před 4 měsíci +2

    Do you use any science curriculum for your prek? I feel like mfw doesn't have a lot of science in their voyage of discovery or Gods creation from a to z 😕

    • @blessedhomeschool
      @blessedhomeschool  Před 4 měsíci +2

      I do not use anything besides MFW for science for my pre-k-er, and I didn’t when my oldest used God’s Creation from A to Z either. In K, a lot of the science is in book-form (each week you choose books based on the topic), and I think that was just enough for that age 😊 It’s tempting to feel like we aren’t doing “enough” and want to add on more, but it’s easy to overwhelm ourselves that way isn’t it? Having used the K program with my now 6th grade son, I think it was sufficient for science as is. More will come as they get older 😊.

    • @AlishaGarciax
      @AlishaGarciax Před 4 měsíci

      @blessedhomeschool yeah I agree with you. Totally! It is tempting especially with all the great curriculums and units out there. And when I try to add more I do see myself getting more easily overwhelmed. How can I deal with that kind of anxiety or overwhelm as I venture out into piecing together curriculum for my oldest and using mfw for my younger two.
      When did you start putting together your curriculum for your kids? When did you take them off the all in one curriculum?

    • @blessedhomeschool
      @blessedhomeschool  Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@AlishaGarciax I love your questions! I am actually going to talk a little more about this in an upcoming planning video. But I will say that we have pretty much used all in one for most of our time homeschooling. I did add in math and reading curriculums for my oldest because a) he was the first one I homeschooled and I thought I needed to do all the things lol and b) the curriculums were so highly recommended to me. But for his 3-5th year we used an all-in-one, and we pretty much try much do now too. With the MFW level we are using, you are required to add in math and LA. Anything extra I add in is because it’s something we want to learn, or, for example, we switched up the science this year because I wasn’t super happy with how the MFW science was going for us this year.
      Hope this helps/makes sense!! I am all for the all in one curriculums for sure!!
