I got the pair one size larger, and I realized a couple months in that I hadn't touched the full-sized channels in weeks. And this was while detaching the propane hookup on a forklift. Those little jaws open up wide. I know there are cheaper versions, but if you can afford it then I promise they're worth every penny. Mine are earning their price tag, that's for sure.
@@isoufo, Well said. I have the matching set of red, white, and purple, Chinese pliers. I'm sure they were blue and not purple at one time, since the American flag has the stars on a field of violet. Or maybe China is slowly coming around to a better way of life..... They all match perfectly, though. Every one has the bottom jaw snapped off. They're for sale if you're interested. I wouldn't sell them, except the baby needs new shoes, and they can only be purchased in Las Vegas. I'll go incognito 🥸🥸🥸 Help a Brother out.....😁😎😁
Nice! Thank you Dan because I've been looking for a decent, yet compact pair of pliers to keep with my gear!! Definitely going to pick these up when I can!!!!!
I have carried a pair of these for years at work. They fit well in the case along with my leatherman tool. If you sharpen one of the handles to a point, it makes a good marlin spike to loosen knots.
I have a real old cheap pair of slip joint pump pliers that my Grandfather had. When I was able to ride a bicycle, I carried them with me to pull on the cables if I needed to adjust one. They weigh next to nothing.
also you can wrap gorilla tape around the handles for better grip & insulation when using on hot metal pots etc then if you need it take the tape & process for fire starting/cordage or other
There are some small $3 slip-joint pliers that the handles can be cut down as short as you need. Perhaps a couple of small tubes for leverage if you need it. And I saw $10 competitive to the knipex..
If I’m wearing another leather pouch on my belt I’m wearing a Leatherman Wave w/ a 3/8”x 3” ferro rod slid in alongside. The Knipex are awesome for small bag kits or even just cross loaded into pockets
Nice……I’m a professional woodworker and always have the small size vise-grip in my pocket while working. Very similar in size, will do similar things but will lock down hard on small wire brads, needles etc.
Had a pair of needle point vice grips 4" long many many years ago. Used them for holding hand rolled when they got to short ro hold by hand. I wish they would put out a line of 3-4" hand tools like that one you showing❤ but saws pliers, crescent wrenches, etc... for all those small nut,s bolts, pins, etc... we deal with.
Top-of-the-notch tools, but top-of-the-notch prices too. Many companies make similar tools, you just have to check if the prongs fit properly. Personally I don't like the adjustment, I like their "Cobra"-series much better. In the outdoors I mostly use my Leatherman-wave knock-off for 20€ - and/or a 125mm vise grip for 6€, which also can act as a "third hand" or replace an injured second hand.
Needle nose pliers are not that great for loosening rusted or worn bolts on really tight though. I tried loosening a rusted bolt on my old bike with needle nose multitool pliers and it could not grip, plus the handles opened way too wide to get good enough leverage to begin with. I would consider trying these cobra pliers. 😁
I have the next size up and love them. When you grab something with these, it stays grabbed (LOL). Seriously, these are great pliers, well made, and yes, expensive. You get what you pay for.
@@a.m.7165 Yea during the time i was writing the comment I forgot that you don't pronounce the k in english. I also wasn't disagreeing with you but with the original comment.
Knipex is fantastic. I have these pliers. But for bushcraft its a stretch unless you don't have a multitool with pliers. If you only carry a SAK these would be worthy.
Absolutely wonderful idea 💡 sweetheart!!! But I'm thinking you should look into channel locks instead those slip joints tend to do just that when using them in an abusive manner which I think all of us including myself must admit when one is in a pinch and really needs them to be a bit more than they are it pays to have a stout pair!!!! Just food for thought sweetheart!!! Also the sound quality was less than par I'm sure once you watch it you'll agree 👍 but as I said excellent idea 💡 sugar bear 🐻!!!
Tractor supply has small channel lock ones just as good for like 6 to 10 bucks and they got rubber on the handles those don't. Just food for thought lol.
Your small Knipex Cobra is the 100 mm size which is 4". That is the smallest they make. I opted for the 125mm size and got the Cobra as well as the smooth parallel jaw wrench. I also have a Leatherman Wave and a Vise-Grip "ToolBox" which was only made as a joint venture with Schrade in 2001 I think. A Select-a-Bit 16 bit driver and a Victorinox Craftsman model SAK round out my EDC tools.
I got one level bigger with rubber handles. In my opinion much better and more usable. But again any Knipex tool is top notch if is useful for your application.
Commercial Electrician, I easily have a few hundred dollars worth of Knipex tools. They’re a bit pricey but worth every penny if you are counting on them for work.
If you can manage it, knipex + knife. The knipex is sooooo much better at being pliers than the multitool is. Add some sort of screwdriver and you've got "best in class" for 90% of daily needs rather than something that's "ok" at all of them.
I've got a pair and I love them, keep them in my Duluth cargo pocket every day
I was just watching you spring pack dump video and recognized those as pair like a friend carries. Went hunting fmi and here's this short. Excellent!
Got mine from amazon

Knipex makes great tools, I use them at work all the time. My Leatherman Skeletool CX serves the same purpose and never leaves my pocket.
So you don’t use it🤷♀️
@@fredeschen3783could be work versus home.
All plumbers know (hopefully other tradesman too) there is simply no pliers better than knipex. Worth every penny
Milwaukee's are better because they're red & say Milwaukee. Matching tools gives you a set bonus + style points.

Best pliers on the planet
These, and their Pliers wrench version in the same size, make a fantastic combination.
I love your channel and vids brother. You are right to the point and chock full of great information! Keep it up.
Welcome to the pliers party 😂 !got a pair and both the pliers and multitool conveniently fit inside my gerber multitool pouch.
Nice! Thank you Dan because I've been looking for a decent, yet compact pair of pliers to keep with my gear!! Definitely going to pick these up when I can!!!!!
You'll be pleasantly surprised. The quality.. the feel is way higher than you'd think for such a small pair of pliers.
@jimmeyers8960 thanks alot for your input man, much appreciated!!👍🏻
Great tip on a valuable tool to make life easier.
Quality is almost always worth it.
I have carried a pair of these for years at work. They fit well in the case along with my leatherman tool. If you sharpen one of the handles to a point, it makes a good marlin spike to loosen knots.
These fits perfectly in the Granite Rocknroll Mini Ratchet pouch. A perfect comb.
I have those and hardly ever use them but now I know what to use them for now, LOL great idea.
I have the 6" pair by Irwin. Very pleased with them. I keep them in my get home bag.
Love mine. I’ve been carrying one most everyday for a long time.
I keep it in my pocket every day. Between that and my leatherman juice, I feel prepared.

Smallest slip joint pliers I’ve ever seen. I’m in love!
As a professional mechanic, I feel knipex makes excellent quality tools... I like the next size up best tho
I have a kit of two tiny KNIPEX pliers and it’s has its own sheath with Velcro closure. Love it. It’s my EDC item.
Knipex is the best choice for anything pliers related anyway. I’m sold.
There are some small $3 slip-joint pliers that the handles can be cut down as short as you need. Perhaps a couple of small tubes for leverage if you need it. And I saw $10 competitive to the knipex..
Great product, definitely worth the money!
Very well-made brand
I have a pair of knipex bolt cutters one of the better investments I’ve made . Quality tools .
I absolutely love your knowledge.😊

I've got a pair in my battle belt. They are nice. Not junk at all. I've used them on my bike chain and for my crossbow.

Looks like a good tool. I personally prefer to carry a small multitool in a small belt pouch. Same size but more functions.
They are amazing. All of us mechanics in our shop has a full set and i have the minis edc. Use them a ton.
Knipex is best plyer, wire cutters I have used.
Have them and I love them.
Got one. Found a use for it the day I got it.
Channel Lock has a pair that has a smaller overall profile. Handles don't flare out as much.
Yeah. They’re on my amazon list.
Looks like a baby Velociraptor
It is called the Cobra model.

These are great. Knipex makes very high quality tools, and these beat a leatherman style "compromise" plier set by a mile. Highly recommended.

If they’re Knipex, they’re likely worth the price. Great quality.
Channel lock and other companies make "mini" pliers also, maybe cheaper or easier to find.
Make a pouch for it that is horizontal instead of vertical. I find they don't catch on branches, seat belts.
In the 90’s ( heck, may still be) all the Midwest farmers were sporting 6” crescent pliers in a sheath. Now, there’s a new kid/tool hanging about. 😆
Those are pretty cool but I don't go anywhere without my Leatherman
leatherman is a toy, those are a tool.
I’ve had them in my kit for a year now.
These do fit in the canvas leatherman case along with the rebar multi tool fyi
I keep a ranger band on mine for a tensioning effect
Nice!
What about using the pliars on your Leatherman?
We unexpected video I’m used to the campfire and camp cooking videos
I’ve carried those pliers for over a year. Lost them. Replaced them. ‘Nuff said.
When you buy quality tools they pay for them selves
Ok now Dan just gave few good reasons why its handy to have.
Whats the pros/cons of carrying these vs a good multi-tool for tasks in the woods?

I've got a good service multitool, customized for my needs. 💯 that's the ONLY reason I haven't jumped on these yet

Lol you think he'd get the size at least😅
Help me follow the logic. If I already have a Leatherman Supertool on my belt, what will these do in camp to justify the extra carry?
Probably works better then most the pliers that come on hefty multi tools not a bad light piece of kit to add to the belt
most definitely!
I have a pair from Bacho that is half that size.
Bro ... Where's your link to purchase? Get that Cheddar, baby!
Hey, How ‘bout a link? Knipex makes sooo many pliers.
Coalcracker! Do you prefer dedicated pliers as opposed to a multi-tool?
they actually open wider then most much much bigger pliers/wrenches out there
Leatherman skeletool. Has pliers, knife, screwdrivers. Always carry wilh me
Cool gear info. But why not a multitool instead? Curious, not challenging.
I want one of those, but does it make more sense than having a multi tool?
Similar crescent ones are about $10.
I like my Leatherman
I love mine
I have a pair of those in my coal crack oilcloth tool roll. How’s that for a coincidence.

I have these. They’re worth the price.
They dont have a wire cutter. Sometimes you need two sets of pliers.
Would a Leatherman be a good substitute?
Thank you,Dan.😊 My question is Knipex plus knife carry or Multitool with pliers? Thanks

Great for emergency tooth extraction.
7” pair of Irwin’s for like 10 bucks. Totally worth it. Also brightly colored so you won’t lose them
How about a product #?
They're not easy to find on their website.
According to the company, the K is not silent in Knipex.
