When you two were describing your experiences I was laughing. Phil reminded me of a Bob Newhart skit. He was cracking joke after joke without breaking a smile. I think because he probably didn't think they were jokes but they sure came across funny. The needle shower. Some places felt good, some places not so good. LOL. I found your channel recently and I'm binge watching them. I love you two. 😁😎♥️

Worker here, on Bathhouse Row. I dying with laughter. I've worked at Quapaw and Buckstaff. Its night and day. Quapaw is more modern and Buckstaff is traditional. I tried BS in 2009 and I also got the loofah and was surprised 😂 Both places are cool to try if you've never done this before. Quapaw you should definitely call 2 weeks in advance for all service especially during the summer. BS is not for the shy 😄 As a massage therapist please know we never want anyone to feel uncomfortable and not enjoy their experience. Most dont verbally say anything and we cant read mind so we watch muscle for those signals. I ask a couple of time during the beginning if the pressure is ok or how they are doing so they communicate with us without feeling weird for saying anything. We truly want you to walk away happy and relaxed. I wish yall were my clients when yall came to town. It wouldve been a laugh a minute. As far as site seeing goes, walking the promenade (the National Park behind the bathhouses) it's very beautiful. The hike to mountain tower is a workout but fun. The mineral water was said to heal the body of different problems. Alot of older locals bottle/jug water to bath, cook, and drink daily and swear by it. I'm glad yall got to check that box off with us in HSNP and welcome you back anytime. I'm a subscriber for sure now bc yall crack me up. Thank you 😁

I have done this many times over the years. My one tip is ONLY in the winter. It is definitely different and I enjoy it very much. My first time it was all odd and different because it is odd and different! After my first time I was not as "surprised" what was going on and much more relaxed. In my 20's and 30's camping in tents this was luxury. Now I am in a full time 5th wheel and it will never be the same as "bathing" after a week of tent camping I will still enjoy the pleasures of the Hot Spring baths.

Next time try to get into Gulpha Gorge Campground in the national park. We stayed there for 13 nights last summer. We’re seniors, so it was only $15 a night for full hookups right on the stream. Everyone else is $30, still a deal. First come is great if you show up on Sunday or through the week. Walking distance to the baths. Many other things to do while there. From there head up to Eureka Springs to see the Passion Play. Beautiful area.

I absolutely love Hot Springs, one of my favorite things to do there is get fresh spring water. We took gallons with us and filled them (you have to talk to the locals). I love the museums, and swimming in the pool was actually pretty cool.

Omg,, I'm crying! This is hillarious!
My parents live in hot springs and when I went to visit, my wife and I went to a spa there...have to say it was nothing like yours;)
For us, we wanted a couples massage..so we went in...separate men/women locker rooms...toga to the massage room. Both of us in the single room...warm oils...perfect massage.
Then afterwards, we went back, showered and got into swim trunks and headed to the baths. There were 4 or 5 (if memory serves!) different baths set up like pools...each a different temperature.
Afterwards, we left...I seem to remember $120 total, but I could be completely off.
Glad I didn't have pins and needles in my shower!!! 🤣🤣🤣

You appear traumatized there pal! We travel to Hot Springs once a year in July. My wife I did the bath for the experience as well and I had the same questionable Loofa experience as Phil. Once is enough I think, we no longer own any loofas. However, since we continue to go downtown, I opt for a nice cool beverage at the Arlington Hotel at the end of bath house row while the girls shop. Our best times are renting a boat on Lake Ouachita from the state park and horseback riding around the area.

  • @lindarose2837
    @lindarose2837 Před 6 lety +2

Oh my - where do I start? 😂 You gave a very honest and candid review of your experience, which like you said was your experience and someone else's experience may be totally different. And Phil was so polite and careful with his choice of words 🤐 but painted a very good picture. Poor guy - if I were a tall person I can almost feel the pain and awkwardness involved in trying to wedge my body in to that small sitz bath. To top it off there is an attendant lurking nearby witnessing the entire ordeal. 😳 This would for sure be an 'out of my comfort zone' experience as well. However, I'm not totally saying I wouldn't do it - gotta shake it up every now and then. Another great part of this one was the incredible timing of joking about a 'cliffhanger' and then the screeching tires with no crash sound. Talk about a cliffhanger! Thanks for your honest and candid review of your bath house experience. Loofah anyone?

OMG I am still laughing. This is the funniest video yet. Sadly, I have Phil’s luck, never good. I feel your pain! Lololololololol!

I'm from AR and we went to Hot Springs and I went to the bath house...my experience was like Phil's. I guess I checked the box because I had an attendant and she bathed me, AWKWARD. My massage was horrible, she barely pushed on my back. But I still love Hot Springs but will not do the bath again. lol

Many years since my bathhouse experience there. My time sounded eerily similar to Phil’s process. Ooooo, the loofah!😑

They don't take reservations, but are booked up for the day shortly after 08:00??? Sounds contradictory to me...just sayin' --appointment/reservation--what's the difference, really? ;-)
Arkansas, eh? I think I'll probably give the whole state a pass. My late hubby and I were there (just passing through) on a cross country trip to visit friends in Alabama in Y2K; we stayed overnight at Ft. Smith Arkansas, and it was horrid. The humidity was so high, it was pointless to bring a towel to the shower!

I just recently started following you guys. We are most-timers who still own our "base-camp" that our son live at and maintains. He's our mail forwarding service as well. Have you checked out Nomadic Native's channel. They are both retired military.

Thanks for watching Roy! I'm thinking your mail forwarding services might be the best around! I have not seen Nomadic Native's channel but I will head over and look them up. Thanks for sharing. Safe Travels!

You, Me & the RV Wow! Interesting indeed. You remind me of myself and you saying you worked L&D is crazy. I loved it but was so high stress environment. After 15 years of nightshift, it got me. We are looking to buy our rig this spring and be on the road full time by summer. Need to make sure I’m healthy enough for this lifestyle. Good luck and hopefully one day we will get to meet you and Phil “On the road.” 😊💗

Yes That is a good RV park I have stayed there. Don't forget to add Arkensaw to your map of states.
Littlerock has a good RV park right on the river across from the Clinton library. downtownriversidervpark.com
In one of the parks there is a big tank with water from a hot spring running into it. Even with the warning sines and steam coming off it people don't believe it was hot and were sticking their hands in it.
