Easy Fix for Timeline that will not accept a new video clip! (Davinci Resolve 2024)
Why is my timeline rejecting every clip I try to add?
Are you having trouble getting a clip to load into your track? Well, you likely have one of these two problems occurring. But don’t worry, both problems come with an easy fix.
Possible Problem 1 - Your Video track is locked. If your track shows a bright White Lock icon under the track name, it is locked. Just click the lock and it will turn to the grey unlocked icon and once again allow changes.
Possible Problem 2 - This is more common for newbies - You want to add a new clip to the track, but the track will not accept your media clip when you try to drag it in from the media pool. You can see that the track is not locked, but it keeps rejecting your new clip. Most likely, you do not have any of the video tracks selected. Just select any one of your video tracks and now every track that is unlocked, will accept a new clip from the media pool.
