  • When I started cutting hair I had a hard time keeping tapers from ending up too high. Once you go too high you either leave it or have to cut the whole side of the head to make it fit. In this video I'm going to show you how to keep the taper where you want it so your client doesn't end up looking like JT in the thumbnail!

    Can you show the difference between a regular fade and a fade blending into bulk?

    • @Seancutshair
      @Seancutshair  Před 9 měsíci +4

      The fade is the same, just connects to more hair if there’s bulk, easier to connect if it’s short on top

    Sean my Wahl premium guards and the style craft dub guards SCREAM and rattle on my lopro one. The only guards that don’t rattle on them are the Babyliss guards. Even swapped out the blue blade for the wedge blade. Same thing.

    It's all about fading downward, I prefer to use the 45 degree law- 1.5 break open blade meet with 1 clipper over comb corner blending then bald out. Shape boom

  • @jamesdillon6032
    @jamesdillon6032 Před 9 měsíci +3

    I just feel like you save so much more time by using scissor over comb on anything longer than a two guard…no guesswork just adjust angle of comb to get the desired length

    • @Seancutshair
      @Seancutshair  Před 9 měsíci

      I don’t disagree but that’s an easy way to ruin a haircut if you’re not very good with scissor over comb. Especially with difficult textures

      On every client you cut ? Or a specific client ? There’s gonna be some people who’s hair doesn’t grow in the same direction as the other side of their head . If that’s the case , I would suggest paying attention to the growth pattern of the hair and cut accordingly 👍🏽

    • @Seancutshair
      @Seancutshair  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Most of the time people have a “good” side and a “bad” side. I feel like the second side on this cut turned out better than the first. Just how it is sometimes

    Heey Sean, thanks for replying to my other comment! I just need ONE MORE answer because I feel like this next question will absolutely determine what I fking do with my life. Take as long as you need to see this and reply 😭 but Some quick context.
    I have very supportive parents and im so lucky, but i feel like, although becoming a teacher is my dream along with barbering, it seems as though becoming a teacher became my "moms dream" as well and of course I see it as simply her wanting the best for me and all, and along with the achievement of graduating, but I just feel like she doesnt really see the passion I have for barbering. And so now, what I need help with is basically just coming to a decision. I feel like I just lack the confidence in my abilities and if you wanted to see pictures just let me know, maybe you could offer up some tips, open to all kinds of criticisms lol but anyway, if the owner of the shop ends up thinking im good enough, should I take the job?!?! I mean I need to save up for tuition too anyway and for getting license after Uni. So instead of getting a different full time job, should I just believe in myself and take the risk?
    At the moment, I only have about 20 regular clients and I charge $20 full service. So more or less 400 a month but remember, this was a hobby I started in high school because i didn't want to be broke lol. Man i dont know. People say to take risks when young but its definitely scary when you dont know if the outcome will be what you wanted? I dont know.

      Just a random barber here, but I feel like it’s harder for others to see the potential in barbering because they see it as “just cutting hair”. Follow Marvy Marv, he just did a live with bossio talking about how much you can potentially do as a barber. Very insightful and my be the info you need to make your decision.

    • @markgonzalez6016
      @markgonzalez6016 Před 9 měsíci +1

      Take all the risks right now that you don’t have many responsibilities like a home, children, etc cause it becomes a lot more difficult to become a full time barber when you do have all that in the way. You don’t make bank your first year cutting hair, it’s a long journey but it pays off, this definitely isn’t the industry to jump into if you want to make a quick buck. What keeps me motivated is the fact that I do enjoy cutting hair, and I’m also seeing improvements every month.

      EDIT: ORIGINAL comment that Sean replied to.
      Okay so I was rocking the corded seniors, and 2 cordless magic clips for the longest time and I just copped 2 of these gold versions, and let me tell you something. This is the fastest I have ever cut hair with my best quality I'd say. I'm genuinely impressed but it does make me wonder "how much" better these other brands are like BabyLiss and Gamma/SC, because these Gold Magic Clips impressed the hell outta me. I'm not a licensed barber, but I've been cutting hair since Grade 10 in high school. Oh and funny story, I sent my resume to a local barbershop, and I did include the fact that im not licensed and that I had my doubts and worries because of simple things like, fear of new clients, as in, "Would I be ablee to give them what they want?" type of feeling but, the owner of the shop seemed like they were insisting that I come for an interview anyway in person. Maybe they liked my energy because I told them that, "If the lack of having a license changes anything, I'm willing to simply volunteer and or just sit and watch to learn the flow." Maybe they liked how eager I am? I am a Uni student in the Faculty of Education, Majoring in English and Minoring in Psychology. My dream is to teach English in Japan and maybe own a barbershop one day.
